I bought a set of2Continental tires for my bike 5-6-22. I took my bike to the bike shop where they discovered the defect. the side walls were cracked all the around the sides on both tires, a clear defect . I sent pictures to Bike Tires Direct, They came up with nothing but bs excuses, like dry rot, ( they're not old enough for that), bad road conditions and more bs. They are the most expensive tires I've ever bought, I've had cheap tires last much longer. Instead of doing the right thing and replacing them, they offered me a discount on another tire. I'm done with these crooks.

I order these tires more than a year…
I order these tires more than a year ago at a lower price and after having them on back ordered for over a year was told they where no longer available. Funny how they are now available at a higher price.

ordered new bottle cages
ordered new bottle cages, put them on the bike, was unable to get a standard water bottle in and out of them (they are too small), took them off, sent them back. Was told they are used so I could only get a store credit and had to pay for shipping back. Feels like a waste of money and I'm not eager to order from this company again

I placed my order late October
I placed my order late October, for a gift for my son in law for Christmas. Every couple of weeks I would get a reminder that the parts would be the first of the following month. Christmas had come and gone, New Years past, January, February, March, April, May and finally in June the parts were shipped! If I were the supplier I would have offed a significant discount or something, but all I got was a text wanting me to rate my experience! I’ll finish with that. David Blocke

Hello David, Sorry to hear, truth is your situation is the same for hundreds of other customers with dozens of other items that are repeatably delayed by the manufacture. It is just the way things are in the world right now. All we do is relay the new dates we hear every time there is a delay. We did the best we could to keep you updated with the new dates they provided each month. We did not even charge you until we shipped, but we can not give out extra discounts due to a delay from the manufacture, sorry. Glad you finally got your order, we shipped it as soon as we got it. I've ordered many items from BTD, but this experience makes me reconsider.
I've ordered many items from BTD, but this was terrible. - one part of the shipment arrived without incident, the other is nowhere! Searching the UPS delivery it is being held at one of their distribution centers and is requiring that I take time off to make the drive there during their business hours in order to pick up like $20 of lube. Not sure if this is a BTD or UPS issue, but it's the worst experience we've have with BTD and one that will make me hesitate before ordering again.

Disappointing customer service
Dear Bike Tires Direct As you can see I sent an email to your sales dept. On 5-24-2022 with a simple request for help with a project I’ve undertaken. You may not have been able to provide ether the parts necessary or information on where I might find them, a simple sorry not in our wheelhouse response would have been great. I would move on to other sources! All I got is Crickets! I found your website a few years ago and have been a loyal repeat customer ever since. So it is disappointing to see another company more in tune with profits “ nothing wrong with profits” then helping their loyal customers so it is with sad heart that I have closed my account with you guys and will not be purchasing from you in the future. I will also be posting this complete email in your reviews as well as others. I recently ordered a set of Teravail…
I recently ordered a set of Teravail Washburn Durable to replace a set of Teravail Cannonball that I have on a Salsa Warbird. I am getting ready to take a trip to Missouri and ride the Katy Trail and in preparation because I am riding on the pavement in Florida, I thought this would be a good selection of tire and compromise of durability for road use and trail use. The tires arrived as expected and after a week or so I staled them on my warbird. The installation was tough as the tires did not go on easy and the tires or the tread on the front tire wobbled and the centerboard was off center. The rear was not quite as bad, but the tire wobbled too. I checked the rims on a truing stand and all was OK. I took the tires on and off and remounted them insuring the seating around both sides was good with spacing to the rim. Still the front was worse that the rear. I contacted BTD and they stated they would work with me if I sent pictures. So I did, only to have them want additional photos. Still no reply and been going round and round on Bulged Tires for several weeks with BTD. Save your money the tires are not what I expected and will likely have to pay for something else of better quality. My original Trust Pilot review was solicited and BTD said they would work with me but instead I have been getting the run around... I am a lifelong cyclist, College Racer and now serious enthusiast, and BTD wants additional photos, all I want is a new tire or refund....

I've been buying from biketiresdirect for a few years now and have enjoyed getting their discounts, but was shocked recently when i needed to return something. I discovered that the returns department lets them down with very unfriendly attitudes and policies.

The item arrived in an open box with broken parts. Called company said it would take 90 days to replace broken parts. Called seller got shipping label and sent the item back. I feel that this item was a return and the company sent it back out without even fixing the initial damage. I do not believe this happened during shipping. I regret the attempted purchase.

Hello, Very sorry you feel that way! We would never ship anything knowingly missing a part. We do not make the rack or stock parts for it. When you let us the problem with the missing parts and how long it would take to get them, we sent a free return label and offered a replacement or refund. It is an unfortunate situation of no fault of ours or yours, there was nothing more we could do. You have been ordering with us since 2015 with perfect history, I would have hoped you would have trusted us by now, sorry again about the situation. We did all we could to help resolve. Default to wrong size??!!
I ordered 2X 32 mm tires. Although it wasn't obvious they were out of stock and so they defaulted to 23 mm tires!!!!!???? Which I returned. You were out of 32 mm tires for 3 or 4 weeks. Amazon had the tires I wanted and shorter delivery time and same price. I won't be doing business with BikeTiresDirect in the future.

Trouble with a return
I had a chat with the customer service rep before buying cycling shoes. I was concerned about the sizing but the rep assured me that I could order size 44 and send them back for a new size if they didn't fit. I took a screenshot of this exchange and ordered the 44s. When they arrived, I tried on the right shoe (size 44) and knew immediately it was too big. The rep said the size 43s weren't in stock and wouldn't be for a few months so I asked for a refund. I took pics of the shoes and returned them. I was given store credit minus an $8.95 return fee. They said the shoes were scuffed. The one shoe I tried on for less than a minute was not scuffed. I was given "the benefit of the doubt" since this is my first return. I took this as a warning to not place a second order with this company. If the correct size was in stock this transaction would have been an exchange, not a return. The second rep was able to refund me in full after I mentioned I had documentation of the first rep's conversation. The overall experience seemed dishonest. Luckily, I was able to find the same shoe in a size 43 elsewhere.

poor service
Placed an order and paid extra for 2nd air shipping. It took a week and a half to receive my order, when I emailed biketiresdirect and they were very dismissive and said that that's normal but would refund shipping charge after I told them I expected the charge to be refunded. They made no effort to contact the shipper to see what the holdup was, he just looked up online tracking and told me what I already know. Why offer 2nd air shipping if they expect it to take longer? Then once the item arrived, the first time I wore it a zipper on the pocket broke and got stuck shut with my car keys in it and then while trying to open it the fabric ripped. So not only do they have poor service they sell 2nd rate products as well... Not going to contact for a refund due to poor previous experience, just won't shop there again. Plenty of other places to get the stuff I want...

As far as the shipping goes, keep in mind we ship hundreds of packages per day and it is not rare for us to see a "two day air" package not make it in time. (especially this time of year) We know there is zero chance we can contact the carrier and have them pull your package and get it to you sooner. So with no hesitation we refunded you the shipping cost. As for your zipper issue, the jacket you purchased is a high quality brand and we buy directly from the manufacturer. We rarely see any issues with them, and by no means is it "2nd rate". Nonetheless check your email for a free return label to send it back for a full refund and you will be all set. This is my 'recent experience. About two weeks ago (September 2021), I'd ordered two tires from this company, and through my oversight, I'd ordered some that I'd probably otherwise have realized wouldn't fit. I'm restoring an older 10 speed for my wife and needed appropriate tires for that. I was not met with any resistance to returning them and BikeTiresDirect even emailed me a return label. But then, I began an email exchange with Ian there who was very cordial. Speaking with him and realizing I might have accidentally ordered basically the same tire again, he graciously offered to 'hold' those tires while I did some more research. Through subsequent emails, we came to another more suitable tire, that I requested he send me and of course, charge me for the purchase. However, in jumps Nate, Good old Nate, putting the 'it' in 💩. He took it upon himself (I guess given it's Portland, Nate could be trans, who knows. But Nate went ahead and shipped the tires I didn't want because, well, they were in the online basket Ian was holding for me. So as Nate has been duly informed, they are being refused upon delivery tomorrow (October 2021) Nate blocked me from future emails, which is fine, as I blocked them from future business. Thanks to Nate, Ian probably has a future. Nate, who knows. But I still have the tires I actually want and need on the way. NOT FROM BIKETIRESDIRECT.
