The purchase was made without contacting anyone. The product arrived bent despite the fact that the outer box was unharmed. I believe the product was already bent when it was sent to me. This is unacceptable.

I have two pairs of Pearl Izumi bike shoes, both are sized 46. The 46 size PI pair that I ordered from Bike Tires Direct were too small, so I sent them back and got debited $8 for my efforts. I will order my next pair of bike shoes from Amazon where returns are free.

Hello David, Thanks for the feedback, for more clarification, yes we do charge $7.95 for a return shipping label for unwanted products. For returns with sizing issues, if you opt for a new size the cost of the return shipping label is waived. The new size will also ship for free. I had good experience with them prior. I would not trust their price matching! At first when I made the purchase, they would honor it, then day later received email stating they could not. I wouldn’t have mind the rejection of the price match due to their policy, how ever, upping the price from the promotional price night before was not acceptable! Few days later, price is even lower then the match price. Don’t know if you could trust their price match guarantee.

Attempting to obtain a Price Match
Transaction was quite difficult when trying to get vendor to honor price match on a $5 item as part of a much larger order. After several hours and several emails the dispute was resolved to my satisfaction, but a long term loyal customer should not be put through the frustration for such a minor $ amount. I would to say though that outside of this one incident, BTD has been great to deal with over the years. Hope this was an isolated occurrence.

terrible customer service -- United Airlines type attitude
ordered some items; but processing and customer service was very poor. Instead of connecting with me right away to inform me that items were not available, or "system had error" in showing inaccurate inventory; emails were sent after the end of the day, which made it impossible to call back the same day. Finally, when I asked them that the process was 1 week behind schedule, and how could we expedite, the response was a "United Airlines type, I dont care, read the fine print", and a rude agent was more eager to cancel the order, rather than come up with an expedited delivery method. I have been a customer for over 5 years. Not ordering from these guys any more. Plenty of more reasonable, and customer friendly web platforms out there (Wiggle, Probikekit, etc). Don't waste your time with these clowns.

While my experience in general has always been terrific with BTD, this go around was less than desirable. It all started with the product that I ordered arriving short of the described content. After following up, we agreed to settle if with a few Co2 cartridges. That shipment never arrived. When I reviewed the tracking number, it was indicated that there was a problem with the labeling and it was hung up at the post office and to contact the sender to resolve. I contacted BTD and I was simply directed, in so many words, to figure it out myself. This is not what I would call a wonderful customer experience. I'm just going to chalk it up to hopefully a single bad experience.

"Free" shipping?
I ordered 2 tires, but only one was in stock. Because the original order was over $50, the shipping was supposed to be free. Free shipping is a big deal when I look for on-line stuff. You charged me for shipping on the single tire since it was only $35. Seems unfair when I ordered 2. To me this was your problem, not mine. Shipping should have been free. My query concerning this was answered with the $50 free shipping rule.

Bike was easily stolen
Great delivery. But I wouldn't buy this lock again. Didn't even need an angle-grinder to cut through the chain. Thieves just clipped it.

Sold out...disappointed
I got my order and everything...but they don't seem to understand the opt-out option in the order form. I opted out...and I still get spam from them. Easy enough to stop buying from them, I guess.

Accidentally ordered 2
Accidentally ordered 2 - 5 packs of tubes instead of 1. Previous experience of returning item only gave me 50% of my money back after returning item. Forced ,me to keep the extra 5 - pack which will last for 2 to 4 years.

When ordering tires make sure you know what width rims they are compatible with.
In this day of tires that are more specific for each intended use. I ended up buying 700 x 26 mm tires that are not compatible with my 24 mm width HED rims. 26 mm now needs to be mounted on 18 mm rims and nothing wider. I did not try to return the tires because I have some 18 mm Mavic rims that the tires should fit on. Since rims and tires are now wider, BTD should publish guidelines for what width of tires will work with what width rims.

Hammer Gel beyond Thick!
The ordering process and everything that goes with that was perfectly fine, but the product received had some issues. I've ordered Hammer Expresso gel in bottles in the past directly from Hammer with no issues, but due to unavailability and a friend's recommendation I opted to order from Bike Tires Direct. I received the product promptly, but the gel was so thick that I can't get it out of its plastic bottle which leads me to believe that it is an expired product or perhaps was not stored properly prior to shipment. It is thick by nature, but not THIS thick! I plan to look into this further when time permits and will update this review accordingly.

Love your site, but....
Love your site, the selection, the prices, and the connection with TNT. What I HATE is that you have started auto-playing music and videos when you click on certain products. I was looking at tires, and clicked on a Pirelli P Zero tire, and right away some video started playing that I couldn't figure out how to stop. But over the video (which had it's own sound) was some other audio talking about the tire. Again, couldn't figure out how to turn that off either. Finally just muted the whole computer so I could shop in peace. Whatever you are trying to implement to make it like Myspace from the 90's, put some clear option to disable it. Also, was going to refer a friend to your site this morning, because he was looking for Continental Tires and complaining how expensive they were. You're Gold price was about $20 cheaper per tire, but when I went to send him the link all this stuff started playing, and i just said forget it.
