Mortgage refinance
I have purchased homes and refinanced in the past and I can honestly say that this was the most transparent and seamless process that I have experienced. The employees were very down to earth, polite, educated, and at no time did I feel pressured. It appeared that everyone knew what the other was doing without confusion. They do not get commissioned or incentivized to sell you a larger loan which improves the trust factor. I highly recommend!

Better than any Experience - I have ever had
I choose better bank - almost by accident as I had tried other traditional brick and motor banks: Wells Fargo - Navy Federal - USAA & couple Small town banks in Rochester: but was told they would not be able to complete the refinance as the quickest they could turn around date would be: 120 - 180 days out because they were extremely backed up due to so many people trying to refinance due to low interest rates. Or i did not choose because there process was slow and archaic as they used paper and wanted to mail everything. Thus I randomly googled looking for a quicker option and found the reviews on BETTER - it was imperative that I close in a month because I’m in the military and would be getting deployed soon - all in all from the first contact email to close took about a 37 days and would have went faster if it was not due to a delay on my part Communication and customer service and speed was impressive - within one day: an appraisal was ordered and sent to my house - mind you I was all the way in San Diego, CA (navy training) - Better (in NYC) my house to refinance (Rochester, NY) - so time zones & communication not a problem I had heard other people saying that usually takes almost 3 weeks for the appraisal & and tack on additional 4 weeks for title -- all of was not the case with BETTER- even them sending a Notary to close in San Diego was easy I really like how you can track the loan progression it makes you feel like you are part of the process and that you can see everything that is going on I know my loan team by heart because they were very helpful Michael DaCruz Loan Consultant NMLS ID 1886187 - did an awesome JOB helping me navigate and inform me of different options Kelsey Cronin Processing Expert NMLS ID 1924501 - was very knowledgeable and brilliantly organized .. helped when i reached a roadblock to help overcome Leia Slosberg Closing Expert - helped with last minute details and the end results Only thing I wish they had was an App and that they did VA Loans

"Better" than banks
Better mortgage, better than banks. Better used a combo of tech and traditional banking solutions to process my mortgage fairly efficiently. However, towards the end there was a bit of confusion that led to the one-star deduction.

Fast, polite, professional, will use for any and all future mortgages.
COVID, both spouses self-employed, 2-months to an aggressive closing date... we contacted 4 local banks and 2 online banks including better.com. Most rejected us practically outright since we're self-employed, others kept insisting one of our businesses had to buy the property to force us into 7-15-year, 4.8%+ variable commercial loans. Though we had to wade through a mountain of financial paperwork to prove our businesses remained profitable in spite of COVID, at least they gave us a mountain to climb instead of a short, flimsy paper trail leading to rejection. Highly recommended!

Great Company
Better exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them to anyone! While I am extremely comfortable with computer tasks, if you are not, I would not suggest Better. Otherwise, when you needed help, "live people" were available and, if someone was not available, others "stepped up" to fill the void.

They nailed it to make the process…
They nailed it to make the process easy, simple and straight forward. Having most things online makes is convenient and hence the lowest cost. That's how it should be. Can only recommend but as always still important to shop but hard to beat them

It was really a great experience
It was really a great experience. Website is very user-friendly, you get alerts when new task is assigned, you upload all the documents directly on their secured website instead of sending it through email and most important is Best coordination and competitive Mortgage rates.

Solid online platform
Solid online platform. You get a list of tasks/documents to provide in a clean interface with most documents completed with e-sign other than closing which requires a notary (easy to schedule). Your questions are answered quickly through email with the option of scheduling a call (I just used email though). I worked in banking operations before and the way better.com does it is how I pictured the future of mortgages being done -- smooth and easy.

Good rates and great service

My wife and I used Better to refinance…
My wife and I used Better to refinance in November 2020 and I highly recommend this firm. They offered excellent rates... we decided to pay points to get a 2% rate (a rate unheard of years ago) with 15 year term... but they had multiple options we could have selected. Better made the process extremely straightforward and easy. You simply scan the necessary documents and upload them to Better. Everything resides on your dashboard at Better, so you can see the progress. The staff is very helpful... I mostly communicated via email, but also phone on a couple of instances. To sign the paperwork the closing agent came to our house on a Friday evening and we signed everything. Then on Monday I wired the closing funds to Better. Better received five stars from me... they earned it.
