Great experience refinancing with better.com. The whole process was quick and easy. They beat the best offer I had from another lender. The whole process was completed in a matter of weeks. I refinanced with a large bank less than a year ago and the process took 3 months. Better.com was a great experience from start to finish.

I wish this was a better experience
I wish this was a better experience . The delay and lack of communication via Better.com site was awful. The delay with Better's response time was frustrating. When I needed to ask about documents to upload it took a long time for a clear reply. As a small business owner there was too much back and forth submitting the same documents. I received communications which did not apply to my situation causing much confusion. There must be a simpler way.

The process is very simple and easy but…
The process is very simple and easy but the communication is very robotic. Also, once you move one from one step into another, and your get a new agent, then the previous agent won't answer you ever again. It's like they ghost you because you've moved onto a new step.

Streamlined Online Process
Process was very easy and fully online (until signing appointment). I don't need all the bells and whistles and just wanted something streamlined, and got exactly that! Better only contacted me if I took too long to respond to a task, and they were always quick to respond if I had any questions. Had a great experience refinancing with them.

best lender I've ever worked with
Best lender I've worked with. I used them for refinancing a jumbo loan for a primary residence and a non-jumbo loan for an investment property. The loan process is streamlined and it is always clear what stage of the process we were at. The agents were responsive and took the time to answer my many questions. And their rates were great. Highly recommended.

After suntrust didn’t deliver for 6…
After suntrust didn’t deliver for 6 months, I was able to close with Better in 4 weeks with better rates. Amazing experience. Glad I was referred. Wasted 6 months paying Suntrust( Truist) higher interest rates. Now onto closing my checking and savings account with suntrust/ Truist.

Great Online Refinance!
I really had no problems with Better.Com; I am really glad that I decided to use them for my refinance. At first I was pretty nervous about going online, however it really was easy; much easier than an actual mortgage I did years ago in person. I really got what I wanted, and it all seemed really easy. Communication was fast, uploading documents was fast, answers to my questions were answered within 24 hrs. Some of my experts even texted me when they found out I did not see some of their emails. Really overall a great experience. I highly recommend them.

The Company Name Nailed It
They had the best rates when I shopped around for refinancing. There are just some instances where I wish the team assigned to me could be more helpful. The major issue for me is actually no one has discussed the breakdown of the final closing cost as I believe it was not accurate as I got a payoff quote from my existing lender. Overall I would definitely do business with them again. They were not great but they were definitely "Better", cheers!

This company runs an elegant scam
This company runs an elegant scam. Here's how the scam works. They first look at your credit score (mine was over 800) and tell you that you will have no problem qualifying for a mortgage. After, you must submit a lot of paperwork on a site that does not work. It keeps asking for the same information over and over again. I sent these people my tax returns so they knew exactly the amount I wanted to borrow (which was approved) and they also knew my income from completed tax returns for 2018 and 2019. I had already had an appraisal done on my property which came in at $1 million+. They said however that they could only give me a mortgage if I used their appraiser and paid $550. An appraiser came to my house and spent less than 10 minutes looking around. The first appraisal I had done cost $300 and the appraiser spent over 2 hours making accurate measurements, etc.) Their appraiser appraised my property at $150,000 less than the appraisal I had for a licensed real estate appraiser and over $150,000 less than than the Zillow estimated value. After sending them more documents they finally said that they could not do the mortgage because the income to debt ratio was too low!! But, they knew this before they asked me to pay for an additional useless an inaccurate appraisal. In my opinion, they probably pay the appraiser half of the $550 (or less?) and keep the change. The scam is simple. Convince borrowers to get appraisals, let borrowers waste their time uploading documents on their poorly organized site, then tell the borrow that they can't do the mortgage because of weak excuses. Do not use this company!!!

I love the online portal experience and…
I love the online portal experience and transparency. The process is much simpler than my previous lender. Able to get a rate lock and pre approval on the same day. The BEST thing is that they waived the appraisal requirement for the refinance.
