Waste of money due to deceptive marketing
I have purchased travel insurance many times over the last 20 years. I have never used Trawick before and I’m sorry I did. I usually call the insurance company directly to confirm that I am purchasing a cancel for any reason policy. After reading all of the details they confirm it’s cancel for any reason. The one time I don’t call and I think I’m purchasing a cancel for any reason policy I find out it was not. Very deceptive the way they market it. I basically spent $200 for absolutely nothing -would’ve had no protection. The reasons given to file a claim were basically nil. Tried to contact customer service they don’t care. Horrible company - use at your discretion.

Hi Mindy, I just sent a request for more information so we can look into this. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with us. Cancel for Any Reason is an add-on benefit available on some trip cancellation plans, so I'm wondering if you got a plan where it could be added on, but was not? Anyway around, I am so sorry for any confusion, and when you send back more information will look into it further. Thank you, Melissa

Purchased travel insurance from…
Purchased travel insurance from Trawick. We were not able to take the trip as my wife slipped and fell in the departure airport and had to be taken by ambulance to a local hospital emergency room. Their agent (cbpinsure) is doing everything possible to demand more and more information and not pay. i would strongly recommend against using this company.

This company should be sued and shut down. What a scam. They are quick to take your money but will never pay you for your claim. They have denied my legitimate claim and then after I have submitted additional documents to prove the legitimacy they have reopened the case but do not want to review it. It just hangs in re-opened state for 3 months now and the customer service can’t do anything about it just saying please wait longer. What a nightmare.

This company went above and beyond to assure me that even though my travel plans were a few miles short of 100 — their policy would cover the cost of my very expensive hotel if I have to cancel. Kathy, the representative with whom I spoke, was kind, thorough, and clear.

The company's fraudulent scheme…
The company's fraudulent scheme revolves around a manipulative practice of incessantly requesting redundant documentation from individuals, particularly after they have returned from their trips. This deliberate tactic serves to indefinitely stall their cases, effectively pushing them to a point of surrender. The requested documents are intentionally designed to be difficult to obtain. These are often records that are typically challenging to secure, especially when one has been treated in a hospital situated in a remote location, potentially in a region where English is not the primary language. Even providing key details such as the name and identification number of the government-appointed physician who administered treatment, the precise diagnosis of the illness contracted during the trip (in this instance, a journey to Patagonia), substantiated by corroborative evidence such as passport copies (matching the details on the hospital documents) and boarding passes, in addition to documented proof of prescribed medications taken during the treatment period, is deemed insufficient. But why is this the case? The Trawick insurance company seems to strategically operate on the principle of wearing down and eroding the patience of policyholders. All the things underneath this text were provided and any "After Visit Summary" was never even sent in to Trawick, only the clinical diagnosis evaluating my symptoms, including some relevant medical history, and the conducts tests (heart rate and blood pressure etc.) to determine the underlying causes for my illness (in this case food poisoning), and documentation for the duration of the treatment, and the prescribed drugs. Do yourself a favor: Steer clear of this company or prepare yourself for an unending cycle of receiving the same response even after repeatedly submitting the requested documents. Drawing from the encountered ordeal, it appears that the seemingly positive reviews attributed to them might very well be fabricated by the company itself. This is what you will receive after you have sent in the same documents, over and over again: --------- Dear Mr xxx, CLAIM# TRW07185 DOS: 04/03/2023 We have received a claim on your behalf. After review of the documents submitted, we find that additional information is required. Please provide the following: - Medical Records: Complete medical records which includes physician notes pertaining to diagnosis and treatment obtained (Please note "After Visit Summary" are not considered as complete Medical Records). - Proof of Payment: Invoice reflecting the total charges accrued and proof of payment, relfecting the charges paid in full. Copies of credit card statements may be required. - Proof of Travel: Boarding Pass, I-94 and or copies of your passport pages which identify you as the traveler and document your entrance into and exit from the country OR provide a copy of your flight booking confirmation with dates of travel, cost and proof of payment which identify you as the traveler and document your entrance into and exit Once we receive the requested information, please allow 15 business days for review. bought health insurance for a traveler to the US. on a trip she broke her arm (slipped on ice). health provider billed over $40 000 for their services (the bone was displaced and needed a surgery to install a plate). insurance paid off ~ $1000 out of that 40k. this is so ridiculous that I'm laughing out loud. the customer paid for the plan more than was reimbursed following the very common type of accident (the trauma nurse said that they have a lot of patients come in with the same type of injury during that type of weather). never, never, never again.

Don't waste your money
I bought travel insurance for a big trip to the Azores. When we had to cancel because a tiny back problem became a huge one that required surgery, I assumed there would be no problem claiming as we had ample documentation. The company dragged its feet--I filed in late June and it took months to get a determination. They rejected the claim and the appeal I filed because, basically, of loopholes in the policy. All through the process they were unhelpful, slow, and unwilling to communicate. Forget actually talking to anyone at the company beyond the call center operators--you can't. Trawick did everything they could to avoid paying my valid claim. I am going to be reporting them to the insurance board next. A frustrating and deeply unsatisfying experience. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

DISCRIMINATING AGAINST PEOPLE WITH ANXIETY
Back on 10/3/2022 - 11/8/2022. My family had planned a trip to Sydney, Australia and we purchased a travel insurance policy from Trawick International which also included our Airfare. We purchased the policy from Aardy Travel Insurance. Unfortunately my husband, who suffers from Mental Illness had an attack of Anxiety and he couldn't come with us on this trip. Unfortunately we lost $8,469.84 for my husband's portion of the trip. When I arrived back to the states I immediately put in a claim for reimbursement because we had the trip insured with Trawick Safe Travel First Class Plan which included a trip portion as well as a 75% coverage for Medical Cancellation for any reason. When they forwarded the policy it had an approximate total of 75 pages for a client to read. I decided to call Aardy and spoke with one of their agents and asked for the best comprehensive policy for my family. The agent informed me that the policy he recommended would fit all our needs and offered the best coverage. Well Guess What. the plan that was suggested by one of their employees was NOT even adequate because it did not cover mental illness. Even after I had informed the agent of my husbands condition, my physical condition and the rest of the family. So I had to hire a lawyer to try to get my monies back since technically they discriminated against someone who does have a mental disease. I was able to produce to the company a letter from my husband's counselor of many years who tried to explain to the company that my husband's condition, Anxiety, doesn't require a Hospital stay. Yet the company denied the claim and stated that he had to be hospitalized. I then was able to get a letter from my Husband's Psychiatrist who is an MD and a Certified Psychiatrist and has treated my husband for many years now. But to my dismay the Company Compliance and Grievance Administrator Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans which is a subsidiary of One80 Intermediaries on behalf of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Tampa Florida denied the claim again even after I had my lawyer submit the letter from the people who know him best, his counselor and his physician. This review is to warn other seniors or anyone who has a mental condition that may not require hospitalization, that this company WILL NOT reimburse anything to you for your case even if you have documentation from the physician and counselor who have been treating you for years. and my lawyer cited him being hospitalized is an "Unreasonable for coverage." But they have their agents who would recommend this policy which was not inexpensive and then they deny the claim. So people who do suffer from Any mental disorder please do not ever buy an insurance policy from Aardy especially Trawick for your travels when they will discriminate against you for a mental or emotional issue one may have. My lawyer wrote not only one letter with documentation but two letters with documentations included but Trawick would not budge NOR did they ever include ANY reimbursement under their 75% for Medical. Cancellation for ANY REASON. What a fallacious Insurance Plan this was, So please watch out for Aardy Insurance companies when they discriminate against a human being who suffers from Anxiety. Don't use them.

Worst customer service experience I’ve…
Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Submitted what I thought was a simple claim. We had reserved 7 nights at an all-inclusive that was non-refundable and non-changeable. Airline canceled original flight and rebooked us the next day which was first available from our location. So claim was only for the one lost night. Submitted message from airline canceling flight, the old and new flight information and hotel receipt showing we had paid for the full 7 nights, asking reimbursement for the one night we lost. Got message back saying they needed my credit card statements showing payment and something from airline why flight was cancelled. Odd, but after some effort submitted that. Then got a message back saying they needed new air itinerary (even though I had already provided it in the initial claim) and receipt for cost. Replied back with a copy of the itinerary that I had previously provided and a statement that there was no cost difference, so receipt was from original reservation (again that had already been provided) was the only receipt that I had. Next message about a week later was that they closed my case for non-response. So now I call, and after some time on the line was told by the person she could see my replies had she had referred the case to one of the processing supervisors and I should hear in 24-48 hours. Not hearing after 4 days, I called again and this time was told they approved my claim that day and a check would be mailed. About 8 days later I finally got a check, for a different amount than what my claim was for (about $180 more), but have never received an explanation (by mail or on-line) how they arrived at it, so assuming the extra was for pain and suffering!!

Trawick management was so helpful
Trawick management was so helpful in assisting us in sorting out an issue that came up with a recent claim. I especially want to thank Lupe for her help and professional handling of our situation. We had to cancel a trip due to illness and are happy to say that we will be receiving a full refund. We will definitely be using Trawick to insure all our international trips in the future!

Speedy Refund With No Red Tape
In my original request for my trip insurance refund the company explained clearly what I needed to submit and provided the necessary link. Christine, the agent u dealt with directly, acted quickly to approve and submit my refund. And, she was prompt and courteous when responding to several follow-up questions I asked her. I would definitely use this company again.

Unncessary delays in processing
It took 4 weeks from when I notified you for you to identify all the documents you needed. It has been an additional 4 weeks since you confirmed receipt of all information and you STILL have not processed the claim. Very unhappy with your service. This was a cut and dry case – doctors note for surgery cancelling trip; receipts demonstrating payment…..and you still haven’t processed it. Still waiting. Very disappointed. Will not be using nor recommending your service in the future.
