Ignored and Abandoned :(
Unfortunately I had to see a doctor after an emergency on my recent trip to the US. After spending hours searching how to file a claim, I emailed the company directly and they never got back to me - and obviously never returned my money (not even for their bogus service). This may be a scam :( I am very disappointed and regretful for having used their service. I do not recommend using this company for insurance in the US.

Trawick Trip Insurance Customer Service Experience
Purchased a “cancel for any reason” trip insurance plan. Bags are packed and in the car, leaving for the airport at 5:30 AM. At 12:30 AM, the airline cancels our flight and is unable to find another flight to get us into Italy to connect with our tour. Hmmm, okay, we have “cancel for any reason”. We really wanted to go to Italy, guess we’ll have to do it another time. Filed a claim on the same day. After many calls and emails, our claim was denied due to not giving a two day notice. We would have been more than happy to give a two day notice if we’d had one! We had every intention of going on this trip that had been planned for many months. Okay, file an Appeal. Email sent per instructions in the denial letter. Called to follow up and was told to check back after 60 days if I hadn’t heard anything. Okay, I did. Now I’m told they are extremely backed up in processing their Appeals and to call back every 2-3 weeks until I hear something. Extremely disappointed!

Excellent chat service
We, a group of 6 seniors, are going to take a cruise next March and we want to purchase a travel insurance. On behalf of the group, I requested quotes online but had quite a few questions about these quotes, including Covid coverage, meaning of excess coverage, preexisting condition waiver, price (single trip versus annual plan) and more. I chatted online with Amanda for half an hour or more. Amanda deserves a more than perfect rating. She was courteous, professional, and patient. She answered all my questions in detail and in some cases even with some follow-up clarifications. As a result of her service and the answers she provided, I will definitely recommend to my group to purchase travel insurance from Trawick. The only thing we need to decide now is which plan and whether to consider an annual plan. Again, I am extremely pleased with my chat experience with Amanda. She was more than great!

Absolute awful service
Absolute awful service. Ongoing issue with a claim. They keep telling me to "please be patient" and due to high volumes, it will take up to 60 days to respond. The website does not show on-going claims. I made my claim in early July and it is still not completed. They also tend to drag it out longer than necessary. When they do finally respond, they will only tell you the one thing that you are missing (which was previously submitted), then wait for up to 60 days to respond with a new item that is "missing" and then reset the 60 day response time. Avoid at all costs.

They will process your claim but not release the check!!!
Update - I finally received a check 11/4/22, 4.5 months after filing my claim electronically. I filed a claim 6/17/22 and it is now 10/20/22 and I keep hearing the same garbage about "due to the high volume of claims..". My claim was filed in the very beginning of the summer travel woes. My claim has basically 2 parts.. my cruise invoice showing my paid status as well as Delta flight status indicating my delayed flight and my attempted alternate flights to reach cruise embarkation in time. The claims adjudicators admit they had everything they needed and have processed the claim. I have even been advised to follow up in a few weeks which I have done 2x so far as they had processed our claim months ago. They are just not releasing the check. I was even told that the claim was audited due to the high $$. For God's sake it was less than $8,000 (after including a $1,200 refund from the cruise company which I reported)!! I can only imagine how many years I would have to wait if I had booked a world cruise or such. I chose Trawick because of its high rating but be forewarned that this company is very undeserving of that continued rating. The claim adjudicators we initially dealt with tried to expedite our claim when it was sitting in limbo but now the response we get is "we are now auditing the claims and we don't know when that process will be completed." When my husband asked to speak with a supervisor, today 10/20 he was told he would be added to the list but it could take around 3 weeks. My recommendation, book your airfare 3 days in advance (so you hopefully wouldn't need to utilize your travel insurance) and utilize a more responsible and more responsive travel insurer for if you still would need them. This company is the pits! They will process your claim, just won't release your check. A very bad omen for an insurer..

A great company to work with
Two weeks after I had purchased travel insurance for a future trip from Trawick International, I realized that I had accidentally listed the wrong trip ending date by two days. I emailed Trawick International and explained my situation. Shortly later, I received a reply from Trawick International and the situation was corrected. They made the entire experience painless! They say they're excellent until you file a claim
We filed our claim back in June 2022. Every time we call to follow up, we are told that it takes 60 days to process. In September, we got an email requesting documents that we already sent when we initially filed the claim. But even then, we still complied with their request. It is now November, and still waiting for our claim to be resolved. Very furstrating.
