They will process your claim but not release the check!!!
Update - I finally received a check 11/4/22, 4.5 months after filing my claim electronically.
I filed a claim 6/17/22 and it is now 10/20/22 and I keep hearing the same garbage about "due to the high volume of claims..". My claim was filed in the very beginning of the summer travel woes. My claim has basically 2 parts.. my cruise invoice showing my paid status as well as Delta flight status indicating my delayed flight and my attempted alternate flights to reach cruise embarkation in time.
The claims adjudicators admit they had everything they needed and have processed the claim. I have even been advised to follow up in a few weeks which I have done 2x so far as they had processed our claim months ago. They are just not releasing the check.
I was even told that the claim was audited due to the high $$. For God's sake it was less than $8,000 (after including a $1,200 refund from the cruise company which I reported)!! I can only imagine how many years I would have to wait if I had booked a world cruise or such.
I chose Trawick because of its high rating but be forewarned that this company is very undeserving of that continued rating. The claim adjudicators we initially dealt with tried to expedite our claim when it was sitting in limbo but now the response we get is "we are now auditing the claims and we don't know when that process will be completed." When my husband asked to speak with a supervisor, today 10/20 he was told he would be added to the list but it could take around 3 weeks.
My recommendation, book your airfare 3 days in advance (so you hopefully wouldn't need to utilize your travel insurance) and utilize a more responsible and more responsive travel insurer for if you still would need them. This company is the pits!
They will process your claim, just won't release your check. A very bad omen for an insurer..
