Don't think you'll get your initial offer
I was given a fair offer for my item, once the item got to them, I feel, I was lowballed I'm updating this to respond, as I couldn't reply directly to your response. In 1 of the emails i received, it was stated that the scratches can be seen in the pictures I initially sent to WP, but these same scratches which was know before i sent my bag, was "the reason" I was been offered less money, hence my review. You mentioned that I sold to you. Yes I did sell, because I'm relocating and need to declutter as much as I can. Positive: Your team members are calm and polite.

Hello Omotra, Thank you so much for your inquiry and feedback. To be honest, we are surprised by your review as you ended up selling to us, even when we offered you a free overnight return. We had quoted you £400 based on the photographs of your bag that you had submitted. Upon receiving the bag, there were several marks which we had not seen prior in the photographs provided. We emailed you photographs of the markings and circled them for clarity. We even showed you the pictures you had initially sent us and explained the difference in comparison. You noted you understood and accepted the offer of £350. In all honesty, this may not be the fairest review but we thank you for your time and business regardless. - WP Diamonds Management

Bracelet came in with a broken clasp. Unfortunately to close to Xmas so I can't return the Bracelet and ended up going to my local jewelry shop and paying to have it fixed. Will never order from here again.

Don't use or give personal info!
To the company's response. It's a ring, not just a loose diamond... I guess you guys think I should just give the rest for free. Anyway, rip off company or doesn't do research prior to offers - customer avoid. Grossly undervalue my ring and when I say no thanks snarky client manager Zachary tries to pick a fight with me... Maybe he shouldn't be a 'client manager.' On top of that, once you give them your phone number they will call you constantly. Don't give personal data.. I'm regretting my decision. Perhaps they should realize everyone isn't hard up for cash and just want to see what they could get for a ring. T

Hi Holly, So sorry to see this feedback. Very surprised to see the things that are being said. The offer provided was $2,000-$2,300 for a ring that has a stone retailing for ~$3,800 (https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.00-carat-d-color-vs1-clarity-sku-12781662). In this industry, the average returns are around 30-50% due to retail markups, which unfortunately is out of our hands so we feel the amount offered is quite fair. Zachary did attempt to make a call as we try to provide a personal feel to our process to establish trust and build relationships. Many customers love this which is exhibited in the other reviews. We wish you the best with your sale. -- WP Diamonds Management

Don’t sell your bag to them .
I have never received such a lowball offer on a brand new Hermès bag Kelly 28 . They offered me 6 thousand dollars under retail value when every bag even used ones sells for way more than retail value due to the hard process of getting rare colored Hermès bag . Then I email back from the initial quote and now they simply won’t reply to my email . Don’t sell your bag to them because you will be ripped off

Hi Jingdi, So sorry for your disappointment. It would appear that you have been given some misinformation about the bag you are looking to sell. Retail price for these bags is around $10,000 USD for the year your bag is. Our offer was $10,800 USD to you, and in addition to that, we would generously be covering the 10% import duties as well. Recent sales for this have been around $15,000 or so (one sold on The Real Real for $14,500): https://www.therealreal.com/products/women/handbags/handle-bags/hermes-togo-kelly-retourne-28-9jm9i We certainly can appreciate that you are looking to receive top dollar for your bag, but customers always feel we are always quite fair in our offers as is proven by the tremendous Hermès inventory that we have purchased from others (https://gemmabywpd.com/collections/hermes), and certainly did not offer under retail price as you are suggesting. - WP Diamonds Management

I would not have given this company 1…
I would not have given this company 1 star rating. They are unfortunately a joke. I received an offer for my Fope bracelet, which cost £4,305. They offered £350! What an insult, and they have the nerve to continue as a bonafide company. I certainly wouldn’t recommend them, they shouldn’t be allowed to trade.

Hi Andrea, Thank you so much for taking the time to inquire with us. Upon reviewing the details, our jewelry team was pricing your piece off of the thinner version which retails for less than half the price of the version you had inquired about. It was a simple human error, please accept our apologies. We wish you the best. - WP Diamonds Management

Rubbish service
Rubbish service. Wanted to sell a diamond ring, they asked further questions which we replied to their email and they never read the two emails I sent. When I spoke to on the phone he, Emre Kocahasan Client Manager, was rude and very unhelpful. They asked for "either/or" information and when I supplied the one he then said they needed the other. When I said this he said that it was my fault for not getting the right information and I should be cross where I got the valuation from, not them. I am in the UK and yet when you call the UK number you get transferred to the US! Most dealings I have with businesses in the US the people are very nice this man was not. I will not be using this company and DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

Hello Susie, First and foremost, we are incredibly sorry you did not have a pleasant experience on the phone with us. You had submitted an enquiry to sell an engagement ring on June 14th but you did not have enough information for us to complete the free quote for you. In the 2 weeks since your initial enquiry, we had sent you 3 different emails asking for the additional specs of the diamond. All our email communication clearly states that we need the 4Cs, which are the diamond shape, carat weight, colour, and clarity. We would never ask for either/or as you state, as it is impossible to grade a diamond without both. When you had phoned in, you stated you had emailed us this information but when we tried to look up your email in our system, we saw no communication from you. To help, Emre tried to take the information over the phone from you and help you with a quote while he had you on the line. You proceeded to tell him the clarity of your diamond but became frustrated when you realized we needed the colour as well to provide a quote. We tried to look at your original appraisal, but pointed out that they gave you incomplete information that did not mention colour or clarity like most appraisals do. We do understand the phone call may have been frustrating for you as we could not help out the way we would have loved to. But if you notice from the several other reviews from customers that have worked with Emre, he is always incredibly pleasant and courteous and this review feels like it is coming more from a place of personal frustration than it is on Emre's customer service. We also understand that you were inquiring on behalf of a friend and we were also in communication with said friend, which may have caused some miscommunication. We wish you the best. —WP Diamonds Management

I did not expect that low offer
I did not expect that low offer. Diamond vintage ring worth almost £11000 , they offered me £1000-2000. This is a joke.
Date of experience: October 08, 2020
Hello Julita, We are sorry you are unhappy with the estimate we provided from your appraisal. Unfortunately in the jewelry industry appraisals typically talk up the quality of the diamond detailed (and inflate the value for insurance purposes). In our experience, this is certainly the case, so when we estimate the value (sight unseen), we assume that the diamond is at least one color and clarity lower than described. We assumed, therefore, that your diamond is a J SI1. In addition, as this is an older stone, it will not be an Excellent cut that is expected at retail today. Normally with a nice vintage ring it can be salvaged and re-sold, however as this particular ring is in fair condition, there is a strong chance that it would not be sold as-is and so, the diamond would need to be recut (and the mounting repurposed). The diamond would then likely end up an 0.80-0.85ct diamond. These diamonds retail for approx. $1,900 (GBP 1,450): https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD14284207?refTab=DIAMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails. The metal value on the mounting is probably around GBP100. These assumptions all lead us to provide the valuation we made. We try to always make sure that we are providing honest expectations rather than providing an unrealistic estimate just to disappoint the customer upon receiving the ring. We have seen tens of thousands of appraisals and rings to evaluate, so we have a very good idea of what to expect. Should we find in your case that the assumptions need to be tweaked upon receipt of the ring, then the valuation would be adjusted in your favor. We do wish you luck in getting the value you feel is warranted. Here is an article that might help you for the future that discusses the differences between appraisal value and the value that your jewelry can be sold for: https://yourgemlab.com/consumer-information/selling-your-jewelry —WP Diamonds Management

Got a valuation for a Tag Watch that retails at £2250, and is 3 years old in excellent condition. Valuation received was £300, even Goldsmiths gave valuation at £750. Absolute joke, don’t waste your time.
Date of experience: June 02, 2020
Hi Bruce, Very sorry for the bad news regarding the evaluation. Unfortunately, Tag watches do sell at significant discounts in the secondary market. One thing that other shops may not take into account ahead of time is the servicing costs. We like to be honest and upfront with our initial quote so that you have a good experience, rather than give a high number and then take out the servicing costs once the watch arrives. An automatic movement watch like yours will run £400 to have overhauled. In fairness to the next client purchasing it, we have to have the internal components of the watch serviced otherwise we cannot re-sell it honestly. This of course drives down the price that can be offered given the costs that go into it. These watches are selling for £1,100, so we offered £300, plus the £400 servicing costs, for a total cost of £700. We wish you the best with your watch and hope that the other company is being honest with you. --WP Diamonds Management

Ring insured for £23000 cost £15000…
Ring insured for £23000 cost £15000 twenty years ago. Offered £4000 - £6000. Contacted by an arrogant American who talked over me and proceeded to try and justify this huge depreciation in value. Sold ring a week later to a reputable high street jeweller for over twice the WP offer. Clearly way off the mark on their valuation process and on that basis I wouldn’t be recommending this company to anyone.
Date of experience: March 25, 2020
Hi Jennifer/Trevor Hughes, Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on such a great offer. That being said, we do not feel our estimate is misguided. Currently, a full retail value on the stone you inquired about is around $13,500 USD, or 11,000 GBP ( https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD13542253?refTab=DIAMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails&action=sameTab ). As such, our offer represents around 50% of a current retail value, even slightly over 50% on the higher end of the range. We did not have a chance to see the diamond in person to make a firm and final offer, we were just providing a ballpark ahead of time based on the details provided. If someone were to have offered double, that would mean that they paid close to the retail value of the diamond, which is obviously not your usual outcome when selling a secondhand diamond. Our goal is to provide transparent pricing and a phenomenal service. Anyone who proceeds with us is guaranteed to receive both a fair price and an extremely quick turnaround time. Indeed, if we see the diamond better than the quote we provided, we pay more! We wish you the best. --WP Diamonds Management

Disappointing experience and "low ball" offer!
WP Diamonds claims that they have no fees and no commission, but let's be realistic! Do you really believe that they would buy your jewelry for an adequate price and charge you no fees and no commissions on it?! I am sure you all know better! Their commissions and fees are already incorporated in their very low offers! That's how they make their money... My only question was "how low" the offer will be.. So this advertising of theirs about no fees and no commissions is misleading! Don't believe that! I have a beautiful 1.57ct classic engagement ring 14k gold in 6 prong channel setting. The center diamond is a GIA certified (and I have a certificate on hand for it). The ring together with the mounting was worth $13,000 ($9.5k-$10k for the diamond and $3k for the mounting). WP Diamonds low-balled me and offered a $6,200-$6,500 for it... I find this offer insulting, because from local jewelers, who typically offer even less money than wholesale jewelry buyers do, I had higher offers just for the center stone alone, which weren't satisfactory offers either (that was obviously the reason why I searched on-line for better ways of selling my ring, hoping to get higher offers). But WP Diamonds offer was an insult.. I was very disappointed! I DO NOT recommend this company for private sellers, especially if you have a very expensive jewelry to sell. They will devalue your piece(s) and unless you need cash immediately and you are willing to sell it for any price, I would advise you to stay away from WP Diamonds. The best way is to sell to a private party, by yourself. This way you will more likely to sell your fine jewelry piece for an adequate price. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the manager from WP wasn't even willing to negotiate to reach compromise. Disappointing... disappointing... disappointing!

Hello Kate, We are sorry that you were disappointed in our price for your diamond ring. We are not sure where your $13,000 valuation of your ring comes from; perhaps, that is what was paid at retail or what is shown on the insurance appraisal? Unfortunately, second-hand diamond prices are not the same as retail prices (as these include the jeweler’s mark up) or insurance appraisals (which are heavily inflated). Similar 1.50ct, I color, VS2 clarity, EX cuts sell on the wholesale market for around $7,500. As such, we feel our offer of approximately $6,000-$6,200 for your stone is more than respectable. As for the mounting. We see it has an MSRP of $2,200. However, in our experience, most mountings end up being scrapped because they are dinged, possibly personalized, often re-sized, the diamonds are chipped, etc. As such, we rarely re-use mountings. If we do, they are typically priced in the wholesale market on a metal and diamonds basis. Rarely does any brand value factor into the equation and so we were likely going to pay $200-$300 for that. We do not deduct fees or commissions from our final price as many diamond buyers do. The price we give you is the amount that you will get paid. Finally, we offer our best price upfront as we do not want to low ball our customers or waste our customers time by engaging in lengthy price negotiations. We do of course wish you luck in selling your ring. — WP Diamonds Management

Buy low, sell high
Nice people, supportive, they make it sound like they are really interested and will give you a good price. I got to waste several hours trying to be convinced that my $10,000+ stone was only worth $1100. I sold it online for 7x what they offered me - and that was low. Do your research before you meet.

Unsolicited email
Unsolicited email, but the marketing notes they have on me show they must have bought some information from another jeweller. Apology email went no way to explain how or why it happened. Edit: Rather than contacting me, the firm has instead reported this review so I shall expand: - Their email did not explain the cause of the issue. - Their email did not, as required by law, suggest they have notified the ICO of a GDPR breach. - Their email again did not explain how they got hold of my personal data. - They have not replied to any emails in which I have asked to clarify these above points. Based on this complete lack of customer service and their questionable unsolicited mail to generate positive TrustPilot reviews, I would not recommend their services. Edit 2: Again rather than contacting me this review has been reported because referring to unsolicited mail is apparently 'defamatory'. Therefore I can only conclude that someone at the firm is reading all of these reviews, but rather than engaging with me over email or by reply to this review, they are trying to remove the negative reviews through repeatedly reporting ones they don't like. Therefore again I cannot recommend this firm, at all.
