Waste of my time
Sent in details online to sell a ring based on comments found on website regarding quick and easy service. Eventually received email response 2 days later and had to call store to clarify. Was told by and unprofessional and rude man that my diamond was not big enough (no mention of this on website in diamond ring section) then put on hold for another man to tell me the same. Feel that my data and information has been mined and my time completely wasted. Stay away.

Hello Russ, We are very sorry you felt this way. While we cannot purchase quite everything, we try to purchase as much as we can! However, there are instances where we have to politely pass, which is what happened in this case. We don’t believe that our passing should be taken as an insult. We are simply not willing to make an offer on every item we see. We have that right. As you are able to tell from the plethora of reviews that we have, there are no instances of rude or unprofessional behavior by our client managers. Indeed, the reviews state the exact opposite. As such, we are sorry if you are taking our passing negatively. We wish you the best of luck with the sale of your item elsewhere. --WP Diamonds Management

REALLY LOW VALUATION
Received a valuation in writing from Zack for diamond ring. The valuation was sixteen thousand pound below previous best offer and ten thousand pound below previous lowest offer. They stated in writing that if I provided a GIA certificate the offer mat be increased. When I said that I had sent a copy of the certificate with the picture of the ring, he said that the offer took the GIA certificate into account!. He then said that any diamonds sold to them are valued at only 20-40% of what was paid when purchased. I think this company are not people I would ever want to do business with.
Date of experience: September 13, 2018
This review is simply not true on a number of levels. First off, the customer provided his GIA certificate number in his initial inquiry, so we were easily able to review the report and provide an accurate valuation. His email with the initial estimate stated that "If you own a GIA certified diamond and you have not provided a copy of your certificate, please do so and we may be able to increase your price" as part of an automated email. He then responded with the GIA report not realizing that we already had access to it from his certificate number, and insinuated that we were being dishonest with him. Patently false. In regards to the price, the numbers that are provided by the customer in regards to the "offers" received are being inflated from the reality to disparage our business. He is stating that his "highest offer" is roughly $50,000 USD, which is $5,000 above where any business could currently re-sell this on the open market. As far as his comment on 20-40%, that is simply an industry average for the return off retail price, as we always say. (Indeed, I actually overheard the conversation with this gentleman and he was clearly being very aggressive with Zach from the outset). There are obviously instances where customers receive more or less than this, but this depends on the retailer’s mark-up. For example, we often pay between 50-75% to customers who purchase from Blue Nile and James Allen, who do not mark up their prices as much as some jewelers. The bottom line is we are in business to make money and provide very fair and honest expectations up front. Our price was roughly a 25 profit margin from where the stone would be re-sold (hopefully within two years and then often with discounting!), which is very reasonable in this industry, as is proven out by the hundreds of other reviews we receive from customers thrilled by our offers. We cannot please everyone with the price, but we will always provide the absolute best and most honest service out there. --WP Diamonds

I was very cautious with the sale of my diamond, so I did a lot of looking around to find the best offer for my yellow diamond. I had them call back saying the owner loves colored diamonds and really wanted my diamond but I did not feel comfortable sending my diamond away to a business, then after a lot of research I decided to send my diamond in. I was promised a range with my diamond for my offer. Thinking great at least I will be set with a certain price. Then I got the call giving me an offer that was half of the offer price I was promised. The gentlemen apologized and said they over looked my diamond, but they had all my information plus a GIA certified #. Was a total let down and a waste of time!!

Hello Kelly, We would like to apologize that your experience with WP Diamonds was not satisfactory. We do our best to provide fair and realistic price ranges before our customers send their items in. Unfortunately, in this case, we were not able to stay within our price range. While your diamond came with a GIA diamond, each grade provided in the reports is a band or a range and is somewhat subjective. Occasionally, we simply disagree with the grading provided – even by GIA. While this is a very rare occurrence, it is a reality of diamond selling and we understand your frustration. Our final price was 76% of the low end of the price range and 72% of the high end of the price range we provided you with. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Regards, WP Diamonds

I would get EVERYTHING in writing!
I was told one price over the phone and after sending them my ring, I got another price. Because I needed the money, I sold it to them, but beware, do your negotiations for the price via email, so you have it in writing.

The item I ordered from myGemma never even shipped. I received an order confirmation email and a FedEx tracking label notice and the item I purchased never scanned as received by FedEx. It has been nearly a month and myGemma never shipped the product ordered. First I've heard from myGemma about the item being in FedEx Memphis customs. My FedEx tracking number is 273437433528 and FedEx clearly indicates that they have never received a package at all in the UK: "Delivery details We'll add a delivery date as soon as we get your package." Nothing was ever shipped according to FedEx, only a label created and no product given to FedEx in the UK. Thanks. That makes more sense now, thanks for explaining. I will await the shipment tracking details and thanks for the feedback today.

We are extremely sorry that you haven’t received your item yet. As we have advised you, it is part of a shipment that is stuck in customs at FedEx’s Memphis hub. We are trying to get it delivered (to us) and will reach out to you as soon as it is available. Once we have it, it will come to you on the FedEx tracking you have been provided, or on a new label. myGemma

The bag had imperfections/ stains that were not listed (it was listed as Excellent, no marks pictured or included in the description) Ultimately I like the style so I kept it, but it was definitely misrepresented and probably should have been slightly less in price.

Not enough or quality ring photos
There was only one photo of the Ippolita ring I purchased, which was not even a good picture. I had no idea how large the quartz stone is or the rough detailing of the silver on the sides. It is too large for my hand thus looks gawdy on me, so I am not very happy with my first purchase. There should have been more photos esp with a coin or pencil eraser or something placed next to it to give an indication of the size. I took a chance on it, but lost...

They may offer a higher valuation…but think again!
They may offer a higher valuation initially but the gemologist will down valued and criticised every item as he possibly can. He was so inexperienced about the watches and other diamonds, he couldn’t even get the carat weight right of the diamonds and the gold, he didn’t even open up the case of the watch to check the mechanism and its authenticity. He insulted every piece of my jewellery terribly. I felt so insulted and embarrassed. Absolutely unprofessional!!! So be warned! You won’t get what they intend to offer you.
Date of experience: September 16, 2021
Hi Elizabeth, Let us first say that we greatly appreciate you doing business with us and agreeing to sell 7 of the 12 items that you brought for us to evaluate. There was a differing of opinion on the watches as when we quoted the Cartier for you, we were told that it had a brand new strap. Unfortunately, the strap was very well worn with signs of sweat, so we could never be expected to sell that onwards to another client and therefore we had to price in for a new strap. We felt that was very fair. With the Tag watch, it was also a beautiful piece, however only came with the service box, not the original from Tag, which is a deterrent in the second-hand market and therefore had to be factored in. Our evaluator was able to confirm the authenticity of both without removing the back, so that was not an issue. The jewelry pieces we quite liked, however they were not stamped and were testing as 16kt gold, despite being advertised as 18kt gold. This presented an issue for us as it will present an issue to the next customer when we try to sell onwards, and therefore had to adjust. We think this is quite fair as well given the discrepancy. Very sorry you did not enjoy your appointment. As the other reviews show, we are kind, honest and very fair and that is how we have grown to where we are today and will continue to strive to provide the very best experience possible. - WP Diamonds Management

Don’t sell them watches!!!!!
I was looking to sell my Omega watch that I paid £5100 for 4 years ago. I received a call only to be told that my watch was being listed for 50% off retail on third party sites. I was offered £1400. When I asked what third party sites I was told sites like Chrono24, and after checking the same site this watch was selling for not less than £3600 in used condition. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and easy to talk to but I don’t appreciate being flat out lied to and attempting to be ripped off.
Date of experience: July 28, 2020
Hello Lee, Thank you for taking the time to speak today, very sorry for the frustrating news. So you can see where we saw the watch selling brand new, here is the link: https://www.timepiece.com/omega-watch-231-10-42-22-01-001.html. We would then need to re-sell this for well under that figure given that the one in the link is brand new, and the one in question is pre-owned. In addition, there are servicing costs that would be incurred by us before we can re-sell the watch as it has been worn and loved for a number of years, so that was also taken into account when coming up with your offer. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions! --WP Diamonds Management

I think the service was great
I think the service was great. I feel my ring was worth more than I got but I did accept it and I Shouldn’t have. I had previously taken it to another jeweler and it was worth more than I got. That part is disappointing but our new what I was getting into. But the service was great and fast

Unless your diamonds are huge they're not interested plus you need to know clarity etc which unless you take it to a jewellers or are an expert you won't know, found the site difficult to use

Hello, We do have a minimum threshold of 0.5ct and require information on the diamond's color grade and clarity grade. This allows us to provide you with the most honest and accurate price quote. This information can typically be found on any diamond paperwork (certificate or appraisal). We are sorry we could not have been of more help and that you found the site difficult to use. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]. — WP Diamonds Management

Obviously the company needs to take a moment to organize their documents..
I sent in an inquiry request about some jewelry I have, a response was very quick but seemed incredibly uninterested in any sort of offer or appraisal to see if worth their time. A month later now, I receive an email asking me about my experience with my “sale” ... really? The two stars is for the first initial response time, otherwise everything about my experience seems incredibly unprofessional & unorganized.

Got bad to me quickly but only to say that they needed me to take alternative methods to selling my jewellery so this went against the idea of the online sales piece ! What was the point ?

The necklace had so many knots
The necklace had so many knots. They just threw it in a plastic bag not even caring. Spent over an hour to take all the knots out. Not how I was expecting to receive jewelry after spending so much money.

We were sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with our shipping method. We ship Tiffany bracelets and necklaces in the Tiffany pouches that they are often originally sold in. We add a second level of protection through a plastic protective pouch in case the item comes out of the Tiffany pouch as we don't want the item rattling around in the box. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with how the necklace was received. We will review how we might ship such items going forward.

What a Joke
My D IF Excellent 0.71ct GIA Cert. diamond on a 950 platinum setting ring, with certs., has an appraisal value of £9,650 (for insurance purposes). Without sending the ring, they emailed, “Your Initial Valuation: £1,550 - £1,625.” Thanks for the offer but what a joke.
Date of experience: November 06, 2019
Hi Chris, Thank you for the feedback, sorry to hear about your disappointment. Unfortunately I think your frustration is misdirected in this case as our offer is definitely very fair market value and the appraisal value suggested is more than double what an actual retail value would be. Diamonds such as yours with the Medium Blue Fluorescence are currently retailing for $3,650, which is roughly £2,900 (https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.70-carat-d-color-if-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-8002595). Our offer of £1,550-£1,625 represents over a 50% return on a current retail price, which is a very strong return in this industry. We unfortunately cannot control what a jeweler will appraise an item for, we can only investigate the market and price accurately based on where similar stones are selling, and provide the absolute best customer service. We would encourage you to circle back to us in the future should you still be considering selling after shopping around. --WP Diamonds Management

Was not happy with the final offer..
Was not happy with the final offer... as to begin with my diamond ring was estimated between $4000 and $8000 and then they get my ring and offer $810 because the middle stone has been apparently has been treated. Sorry but the ring itself is worth more than 10 grand and the center stone being treated should only bring the value down about 50%. But I’ve got better offers, just hope my original diamond comes back to me and they didn’t switch it or there will be a lawsuit.
Date of experience: August 08, 2019
Hi Makayla, While we can appreciate your frustration, we too were frustrated by the results. We believe the wording of your review is in a little harsh when all we wanted to do was help. We provided our service exactly as advertised, we just received a diamond that was far different from what was inquired about. We provided an estimate based on your diamond being a 1.70ct F color, VS2 clarity stone. That is a very high quality diamond which is why the estimate was so high. Upon inspecting it our gemologists unfortunately determined that it has an I color and I2 clarity. In addition, the diamond also had a treatment done to it somewhere along the way called “Fracture Filling.” As we explained, this means the diamond had a very bad fracture through it that was subsequently filled with a gel like substance to try to enhance its appearance. It is no longer a natural (untreated) stone and one that GIA would not grade (due to the non-permanent treatment received to the diamond). As such, the market reflects that. In most cases we would pass on a treated diamond (particularly one that the GIA will not grade) because they are so difficult to sell, however since you took the time to send it in we wanted to offer the most that we could for you in an effort to help at a level that would make sense. We wish you the best of luck with your sale. The ring was returned immediately as you requested and will be back to you tomorrow. —WP Diamonds Management
