They closed my accounts for depositing…
They closed my accounts for depositing too much money!!!! 1 Business account with a lot of activity. 1 business account with little activity. 1 Savings account over 10 years old with no activity and a personal checking over 14 years old with average activity. I still have over 900 business checks!!!! They do not make loans outside of the Woodlands area. (Houston)

I wish I could give no star review
I wish I could give no star review. So many lies from Woodforest National Bank, no same day electronic deposit, no next day if electronic deposit made after a certain time, even on Friday, no next day by 7:00 am. This Bank is just one big lier. This is false advertising blatant liying to the public. Oh I almost forget, they say free Notary, well who knows, there's never anyone there that can Notarize anything. This is fast food Banking at it's worst, you never get it your way.

My recent experience with this bank was…
My recent experience with this bank was enough for me to realize I need to immediately close my account and go somewhere else. We have banked with Woodforest for years and didn’t notice any issues because well, there weren’t any. Not until someone somehow got ahold of our banking info. Someone in Pakistan by the way. We call the bank and the first guy says ok no problem, we’ll refund that money and issue another card. No harm no foul and we move on. Two days later another charge from Pakistan. We call and this time we are told no we cannot get our money back. They will open up a dispute and if they find evidence of fraud then we’ll get our money back. “Evidence of fraud” well let’s see, we are in Texas and this charge was for Dish TV in Pakistan, what more evidence do you need. To add insult to injury, a day later we are charged an international transaction fee. Pathetic bank. So we had $50 stolen from us from someone in Pakistan because the bank couldn’t protect our money, but then they take sides with whoever this fraudster is and refuse to give us our money back and then have the audacity to charge us a international transaction fee for the change they couldn’t prevent. Should be illegal

Very helpful staff
I have used multiple locations and never had problems FROM THEM. I have had a couple instances of cc fraud and Woodforest immediately locked down my card until I could verify. There have been a couple times I had to verify my own purchases, but I'd rather have too much security.

The last year has been hell with this bank. Transactions disappearing and reappearing that causes overdrafts. Horrible customer service. Horrible branch hours. Horrible mobile app. This is a horrible bank

7 years of great service!!!
I have been banking at Woodforest now for about 7 years. Because things have changed due to Covid, the banking hours did change, too. BUT...what bank is open on most holidays, even short hours. And open in the evenings? I do most of my banking on line now, but, can call and get most every type of situation handled. Senior accounts. Free Checks! I also have a personal line of credit attached to my account, if I go over, they cover my checks! No cost if I get $$ into it within about 24 hours. Or a sweep into from another account and they charge $5.00. All kinds of good things. ALSO, here in South Carolina, Notary's can marry you. And so, my Fiance and I went into the bank about months ago. AND we had the Notary marry us. Zip boom Bah! We donated $$ to the local food pantry for that service! Also, they are located inside a Walmart.

Need more ATMs....
I have been banking with Woodforest for about 6 years now and I must say I have never really had any problems! My local branch knows me by name very friendly. The only thing that I PRAY HAPPENS ASAP IS MORE ATMS AROUND TOWN! Please Woodforest give us more ATMs around town! But other than that great bank. Great hours great customer service!

I came in today to DEPOSIT a birthday…
I came in today to DEPOSIT a birthday check from my mother n law which weve done for years. The new girls committed racism, discrimination and harassment against me. I will be seeking a lawyer as I recorded it on my phone how they treated me like a criminal over a check being deposited. First off I have never had a 7 day hold on any check in the history of the bank account until today. I have never been treated like this at any bank for 45 minutes WITH NO DEPOSIT MADE. I am white and the 2 new girls who were black are the ones who did this. before I left they even took it upon themselves to give me the check back and close my account because they didn't like my frustration with 45 minutes fighting to deposit a check from my mothers law in which no deposited check has ever been returned on my account. I felt like racism was being delt to me over being white and then discrimination because they closed an account the first day I ever dealt with them after having no problems for over 16 years. I felt like I was being treated like white trash, and this has only happened in 16 yrs with 2 new black employees. I am now left with no bank account, my stimulus money will get lost now and my tax return will be affected. I plan of suing the crap out of each employee individually and the bank itself for racism against me by their employees and for closing my account. This was plain and simple racism, harassment and discrimination by two black employees against a white middle class woman. Racism goes both ways and Woodforest bank displayed that today and I taped it on my phone. Get ready to rumble the lawsuits and complaints are gonna fly

Zero stars…Woodforest National Bank is…
Zero stars…Woodforest National Bank is the worst bank I have ever used. I am a new customer and within the first week I have had the most painful experience I have ever had with a bank. Had to wait many days to even be able to use my new account. Could not use online services for a while and when it was available it did not work. Spent a long time with online chat and on the phone and still did not get anything fixed. Do not use this bank unless you want to be frustrated beyond belief.

NEGATIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!
Worst bank ever!!!!!!!! Please save yourself the headache! Not only is there not way possible to get in contact with them over the phone at all they are also useless in person. They continuously took money from my account to pay for other things that were already for. Never even seen my 300 or my 597 dollar refunded money from my trip which i went in person to talk to them completely useless. I hate this bank with everything i have. Made a dispute months ago never told me anything about it ever since never got my money back either. Worst bank everrrrrrrrrr please save yourself. My sister banks with them and have issues with them all the time.

Go to chase save your time and money.
After years and years of having an account here these guys feel cheeky and want to charge me for an NSF fee for 5$ that was NOT RELEASED. That hit due to an automatic charge that is now fixed [2 hours after]. All I ever do is pay fees fees fees. I've probably paid about 20% of my direct deposit amount in fees. Every month.

Stay away from this bank!!
Stay away from this bank!!! They make their money by charging illigal overdraft fees whenever they want!! And they get away with it by manipulating the times of various charges and deposits to make it look like you didn't have enough funds to cover things!!!

THE MOST UNRELIABLE BANK!!!
The most unreliable contact center ever. No one seems to have the correct information on standard operating procedures for ordering new debit cards. I called them because I was still unable to order a new debit card online after waiting 48hrs after updating my address. The phone rep stated she was able to do it for me and that it would arrive in 10 business days. Ten days pass and still no card. This time I speak to another rep and he tells me no, the debit card request was rejected. WTH. I am already frustrated by now, b/c I may have to wait ANOTHER 10 days to get a card. I ask if he could just do it for me over the phone. NOPE. Apparently, my new address would need to be on file for atleast 30 days to do that. By now, I am livid and fed up with this so-called bank. So I go back online and order ANOTHER card. The message says it'll arrive in 10 business days. We shall see. At this point, I am done with Woodforest. I am leaving like I should have a long time ago.

They delight in miserable service…
For many YEARS tellerS unable to provide endorsed copy of Cashier's Check because they are unskilled. April 2021, teller REFUSED to provide Cashier's Check for my rent because I had no WRITTEN PROOF of my Zip Code. Woodforest National Bank closed my account and sent a Cashier's Check for the balance of my account via U. S. Postal Service using the ZIP CODE IN THEIR OWN FILE. The teller refused to negotiate the Woodforest National Bank's own Cashier's Check with the memo: closing account xx____. Their OWN Cashier's Check! As I left the bank, the teller said "you're disgusting" not once, but twice. Now, the third stimulus was scheduled for direct deposit on MARCH 31 but it is nowhere to be found! IRS has to trace which takes 90 days. Be CAREFUL with this bank; they seem to delight in this behavior. I am elderly and very low income. I would rate this bank NEGATIVE 10.
