The manager and staff at the EASLEY
The manager and staff at the EASLEY. SC walmart bank are horrible. 1st visit to cash a check they wouldn't cash it, the manager told me that woodforest does not accept 3rd party check, but then I asked If I could deposit the check and she said yes but she would put a 7 day hold on it. So I just took the check back to my customer and she voided the check. 3 days later the same customer writes me a check for my services, so I go to the ATM at the same WF Easely SC bank and deposit the check in the ATM. The ATM approved the check and deposited it as pending, I understand that. What I don't understand is why in the hell the Easley SC manager opened the ATM removed my check and mailed it back to me. I have yet to receive the check in the mail. She stopped the processing of the check and took it upon herself to remove the check from the ATM. She didn't contact me via phone or email, no notice at all of her intentions. Update- I reached out to the email shared in the BOT message with no response back from WFNB. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, waiting back for that. My power will be shut off in a day, I have no gas to get to work and I'm quickly running out of groceries. The manager had no right to remove my check from the ATM. IF SHE THINKS I A FRAUD or something she should've closed my account right then and she could've gave me a call so I could've taken care of the matter. My customer is furious, because now she has screwed up her account, thinking the money had been taken out for my payment. I think I need a lawyer.

I am putting Woodforest Bank on blast…
I am putting Woodforest Bank on blast for the shady dealings they have done which could cost my daughter jail time. To explain my self my mother is in a nursing home. My daughter is over her medical and her money so she can get my mothers bills paid. She went to court to do it legally and have signed letters from the court/judge stating that fact. She is allowed to write checks on my mom’s account to pay the bills. Well WoodForest Bank has/is not allowing her to do it, even after my daughter contacted the Judges office and they contacted the bank sending the documents proving so. A reasonable person would assume since the judges office contacted the bank that my daughter could go ahead and pay the nursing home with a check now. The bank froze my mom’s fund’s and refused to pay the nursing home. This has been going on for MONTHS. The nursing home has not been paid. My mother has over 8000 in her account now and if medicaid does an audit my mom will be kicked out because she has to much money in her account-all the money belongs to the nursing home☹️ and you probably guessed it, the bank refuses to release the funds to the nursing home. Now my daughter is looking at being arrested for writing hot checks to the nursing home…..Facing real jail time. The bank tells my daughter, face to face, that they never froze my mothers assets calling my daughter a liar. My daughter gets proof from the nursing home that they did and yet my daughter is the liar once again all the time still facing fraud charges that should not be. So she goes up to the bank to get the money in person in cashiers checks. The bank will only allow her to take 1,500 out with 8000 owed to the home. There’s a kicker to this, my grandson is in the hospital. They can’t get his pain manageable-pallet of care has been called. Of course my daughter is besides herself with grief and now facing jail time???? What is wrong with people????? The bank has been us over for 9 months!!!! Its very real that my mom could loose her home, my grandson dies and my daughter goes to jail behind a bank committing fraud. I will not say what I am prepared to do but I would love banking laws/advice to help my daughter with the situation to at least take this off her plate. She should be in the hospital with the baby and not worry about the theft occurring from the bank. Anyone with advice?

Not local anymore
My wife and i have had our accounts for many years now. The one thing I don't care for Is that they shut down our local branch, forcing us to burn excessive amounts of gas to go to a dangerous neighborhood that they call a local branch. It is in no way local guys. Other than that they are great.

Transfers between checking accounts
My husband and I both have checking accounts at Woodforest National Bank. We make transfers often between these two accounts. He has recently broke his phone and we were unable to make transfers. As luck would have it, I overdrew our joint account. He was able to call the bank and speak with a wonderful woman named Nicole at the lafayette, Indiana bank branch. She was able to initiate the transfer between our accounts so we were not charged overdraft fees. We've had these accounts for 15 years. I have always appreciated the fact that we are able to handle any difficult situations with these accounts easily and stress-free. Thanks Nicole you made this situation easy to deal with.

If you want problems this is the bank for you!
If you want problems, this is the bank for you! They refuse to fix their website, it's been months and I still cannot log in. Out of the blue it stopped working, I'm told I have to drive to a branch to change my password which is supposed to fix the problem of their website not sending out authenticator codes. You get a discover debit card, that not everyone accepts. To get the MC debit card you have to wait for a week or two, and maybe have to pay for it if you want to replace the crappy discover one, then they choose the pin number for you which cannot be changed. If you forget it, you have to pay for another card. If you start a new job try to cash your check, you must deposit it, and then wait for 2 weeks for your money. They tell you a few days, it's 2 weeks every single time!!! They do not accept Zelle, unless you get the MC, which again - you have to wait and pay for, and the pin issues. I have been dealing with this joke of a bank for several years now. I have other accounts at other banks and never have these issues. I need to get the hell out of here. It is so frustrating. This company is so far behind in technology it's laughable. What kind of bank operates like this in 2023??? No wonder they are in Walmart - they are cheap, generic versions of a bank.

Phenomenal Service
I've been with this bank for some years now and are very happy with the service that I receive. Extremely friendly and professional service by this branch. I fully recommend coming here for your banking needs! I look forward to going to this branch once a week to handle all of my business and personal needs. All my drivers (all but one) have joined the Woodforest bank family. Ciji, Aieleia, and Alexis are all a pleasure to talk to while they are handling your transactions. Personally, I like the Woodforest bank service very much. Thanks....Mrs. Johnson

Very poor customer service
Very poor customer service. Tellers have an attitude that they could care less if you close your account and take your business elsewhere. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there isn't one on site and would have them call me. After leaving my number a "market manager" called me and pretty much had the same attitude. She basically told me that her teller would never speak to me the way I reported. I am closing my account as soon as the branch opens this morning.

Terrible..this bank has been holding thousands of dollars of mine because of transaction that was declined. The merchant has even verified they are t collecting funds and it’s been 2 weeks and my money still hasn’t been returned to my account by woodforest. This issue has happen before and it’s rediculous. Please stay far away from this bank they are no good. From the customer service to the branches. Will be filing small claims suit if my money isn’t returned soon. Very shady and bad business. No bank lets anything pend for this long without removing it from your account. Will be closing account

They screwed up and I’m suffering severely …
I made a cash deposit on February 25,2023 approximately 2:25 pm and at 3pm I attempted to pay my auto insurance payment online . I kept getting an error message stating that something went wrong . So I then attempted to use the automated system phone system and it said your payment can’t be processed at this time. So at approximately 7:30 pm a deer struck my vehicle causing major damage to the vehicle! Apparently the bank experienced a system failure preventing posting /processing of account activity. That wasn’t resolved until February 27 2023. I have been attempting to get woodforest to repair my vehicle but they refused because they’re insisting that prove to them that I attempted to pay my insurance and it failed . Only because they know I can’t prove that because it’s there system that’s already malfunctioning then naturally I’m not going to be able to that but I can prove the time I made the cash deposit, the time of the accident, and the cost of repairs I had to make out of pocket etc… my vehicle has severe transmission damage and front end damage plus a whole lot more. I’m a disabled woman with multiple disabilities that requires me to have a working vehicle at all times for doctors appointments in multiple locations throughout the state but do to the refusing to fix my vehicle which is in operable because of their refusal to repair the damages . I’m suffering physically ,emotionally, mentally and financially! Never use this bank the customer service is horrible I would rate them -1 . Janie Armstrong

Complaint filed with the Comptroller of the Currency
Here's the text of my complaint filed with the Comptroller of the Currency: On November 9, 2023, I opened a checking account with a $2,500 check drawn on Wells Fargo Bank and that check cleared Wells Fargo on November 10, 2023. In the past week, I've tried to resolve an issue where trying to login to the website from my home computers through either Wi-Fi or Ethernet at home gave me an error message that I was not in a region that could access my account online. My ISP is in San Marcos, TX and, since I have a dynamic IP address, it recently changed to the San Marcos geolocation, which is within Woodforest's North American region that is allowed to login (they have bank branches in the Austin, TX area, so that shouldn't be an issue). I tried many times to resolve it with both my ISP (they can't do anything about the bank) and with the bank's technical department, presumably at their HQ in The Woodlands, TX. Finally, I spoke with Jay early in the week of November 12, 2023 (the fellow who opened my account) and he said they would waive the $25 fee normally charged for closing the account in the first 6 months. When I opened the account, he had said that I had to wait 7 days to access the money, so I told him that I'd be in on Friday, November 17, 2023, which is today, to either withdraw everything but $1 and leave the account open for 6 months or close it altogether. This afternoon, I brought back the folder he gave me when I opened the account and a screenshot of the problem. He stood in the background and sort of spoke on my behalf, but the woman waiting on me started first by telling me I needed to change the settings in my computer. I retired 4.5 years ago after over 12 years with Whitestone REIT in Houston, 8 of those years as Vice President, Information Systems, so I RAN the IT department for a corporation listed on the NYSE. Then, she tells me it's 7 to 10 WORKING DAYS and I'm sure she was going to take that $25, when she said she'd have to get a manager's approval. The manager was RIGHT THERE (if any of the 5 employees standing there was the manager - there isn't a side office in that location). At that point, I said, "just send me the damned check," and walked out. I got to my car when a call from "Western Union" came up on my phone. Apparently, they occupy an old Western Union office or they do double-duty there, because that's what always came up when Jay called me. I answered the phone and repeated, "just send me the damned check," but she (the teller) told me I left my Texas Driver's License, so I went back into that Walmart location (they're owned by the Waltons, so they're mostly inside of Walmarts). I hoped that they would give me my money when I went back in but, instead, they were all smiles, TAUNTING ME EVEN MORE. Again, I repeated "send me the damned check," because it was obvious that they weren't going to give me my money. I intend to complain again, if they deduct the $25 from my withdrawal. In fact, I doubt they will even send me the money and I'll have to go back into the branch and they'll probably give me just $2,475 of my $2,500. And I WILL submit another complaint at that time.

Great Bank!
I absolutely love Woodforest, so I have a very poor banking history, and I needed a second chance and Woodforest came to the rescue with there second chance checking. Woodforest has been beyond amazing in every way possible. Customer service has been great, my local branch is beyond phenomenal, and the mobile app is pretty great as well. I have ZERO complaints about them!

Poor Customer Service
I went to the brach in Fort Wayn In. earlier in the month to get my last name changed after I have gotten married. The 2 customer service were not very friendly and the one that were helping me didn't even smile at all. I gave her my marriage license and DL and SS# but which she took to the manager and said that my marriage license is not good and I need a different one. I let her know that I use this marriage certificate with all of my accounts including 2 other banks and social security to get my ss card and everyone took it with no problem. She said I had to wait for approval and don't know how long it will be. While sitting waiting I notice how these ladies talked to other customers that came in and it was not good customer service at all. I work for a bank in the business department and if we talk to our customer that way we would get fired. I decided that I will be closing this account.

Worst bank to have a business account…
Worst bank to have a business account with. They actually make it hard to give them money when depositing checks and when you need to make a withdrawal of anything over a mediocre amount they have to "order" your cash to withdrawal. I can't speak for all branches but mine is a revolving door of managers and associates who don't seem to have a grasp of what they are doing. Sadly, I have been with them for over a decade and it just gets worse every time I have to step foot in the branch. My suggestion to anyone considering opening either a personal and or business account is to go elsewhere. Just to unprofessional and unpleasant to continue doing anything with.
