not a good experience
I can't give a good review for this company. I had a scheduled weekend get away back in January and had to cancel it due to illness. The claim went into final review the middle of March. I have yet to receive the reimbursement. After several emails, live chats and phone calls I was finally told on 7/1 that it was approved and payment was being sent. It is now 7/7 and it hasn't arrived yet.

This was the worst service I have had…
This was the worst service I have had in years with any company in the US!! No one seemed to have any idea what they were doing at all. 10 weeks was required to process the claim but if I had at least spoken to an intelligent knowledgable person along the way I would have accepted the status of the claim. That did not happen. POOR!!!!!

Cancel Beach Trip due to CoVid
We had to cancel our June 4 to June 11 beach trip due to grandchildren getting CoVid. We cancelled on May 29th. Doctor forms required..Done..Copies of every payment required for beach house...Done. Still no refund. NO communication unless I call. We will NEVER deal Red Sky again. USAA travel it will be. I will be contacting the BBB/ lawyer/Emerald Isle Reality for suggesting/offering Red Sky. Their REVIEWS are terrible. I trusted the reality office with the offer of the travel insurance and I should have investigated the company first. I had Red Sky for the previous year's beach trip and have determined that the only thing Red Sky is good for, was taking my money. BUT GOD help you ...if you have to make a claim. *** UPDATE today. 7/15/22 Just got our claim approved. Stated in email to expect refund within the week.

Anticipating that all will work out.
I still have hope that I will receive my refund for a trip that was insured for early June. I know it has been approved but still waiting for the funds. I want to go ahead and book another trip and hope COVID doesn't interfere this time, but wondering if the extra insurance fee is worth it.

Hopeful
Well, had a beach trip planned for 7/11 - 7/16. Became extremely sick with flu on 7/10. Submitted all paperwork. A little anxious after reading some of these reviews so i will follow up and update regularly. So far agents have been very helpful and pleasant.

Avoid this Travel Insurance Company At All Costs
Absolutely horrible experience. I have a slam dunk claim. Not medical related. A gale blew through and all boats were cancelled to get to Catalina which was the only way to get to the island. The ferry refunded the money in 24 hours. I am now over 3 months and they still have not refunded my claim for the vacation rental. I have written numerous times, spoken to multiple people giving me lip service that they don't think 3 months is a long time for a claim to settle. If someone knows an insurance commissioner overseeing them, please advise, I will gladly file a complaint with them.

Disappointed in communication
A claim was filed in late May in regards to a vacation being cancelled due to unforeseen cardiac issues . For the past 6 weeks we have been told that our claim is in the final stages . As of July 12 we were told that the agent was reading our claim as we spoke and it would be completed within a few days . It has been almost 2 weeks with still no communication . We understand that the company is extremely busy but we are beginning to lose Confidence and feel we are getting a lot of lip service . We hope we are wrong .

It took 3 months to get a refund
It took 3 months to get a refund. The reason for cancel was my husband died and this was ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Worst experience
Worst experience. Ski trip scheduled for early January. Direct family member of a traveler had Covid and the trip was cancelled. It took six months, diligent follow-up, and an appeal to finally get reimbursed. Terrible response time and unreasonable expectations. They were only looking for a loophole to not have to pay. Don't use this company if you can avoid it.

Red Sky provided an easy on line method for submitting my claim. It was somewhat difficult to get in direct contact with the Pre-Adjuster and Adjuster. Forms were labeled as Travel Insurance although my claim had to do with my Ski Pass. This was confusing to my Doctor's Office. Communications sometimes took several days, but once contact was made Red Sky personnel were professional, courteous and helpful. My questions were always answered. When my Doctor submitted documents that were inappropriate for claim, adjuster contacted me by Email, and I was given time to contact Doctor in order to get documents filled out appropriately and submitted. The process took longer than I had hoped, but was settled in a fair manner.

Nervous about Red Sky Travel Insurance
After planning our trip to the Smoky Mountains well in advance, I was diagnosed by my doctor with Covid-19 just three days before we were due to depart for the trip. Having purchased Red Sky Travel Insurance when booking our reservations, I immediately submitted a claim with the proper documentation on May 19, 2022. In my case, this was screenshots from my health providers MyChart app including the lab test diagnosis as well as my doctors letter stating I could not travel due to the illness. One week later my claim status was updated that the claim was in the final review stage. Since then, each contact with RedSky has been a brush off with no new information or estimated time to finish the claim. I understand delays due to covid, but it's been quite a while with no new information. After reading negative reviews about Red Sky that sound all too familiar, I'm quite nervous at this point about placing my trust in them to honor my claim. Updated 8/18 Red Sky paid my claim.

communication is TERRIBLE!!!!
communication is TERRIBLE!!!!! Got claim papers on july 12 2022, Had them back july 14 2022. They said that they received them and would get back to me. Here we are 8/23/2022 and they sent me something about my doctor paper work was not there But I got a confirmation saying that they received the doctor papers when I sent them. I guess there is only 1 person in this company that can help me her name is Crystal. Called her at least 6 times to get answers but she is eigther at lunch (at 3:30 in the afternoon or is not there yey at 10am or 11am in the morning.) Called today and Crystal was not there. agent told me everyone is new to the company. 7 weeks into my claim and no answers.

Denied even when delayed over 24 hours
I have bought travel insurance through my vacation realty company for the past 20 years and will not be purchasing it going forward. I sent in detailed paperwork stating that my original flight was delayed 187 minutes (due to weather) causing me to miss my connecting flight which resulted in American Airlines automatically cancelling my flights and rescheduling me for a flight over 24 hours later. My claim was denied because they said my flight was only delayed 187 minutes and are not taking into consideration that there was absolutely no way for me to get home before 24 hours since there was no connecting flight to get onto until 24 hours later. My claim meets the criteria for being delayed over 12 hours; however, Red Sky is not able to honor their own policy. I was told I could appeal the claim; however, I submitted everything correctly the first time, and they just need to take all the information into consideration beyond the first delay that caused the chain reaction resulting in the 24 hour delay. Extremely disappointing experience.

Terrible company
Terrible company. I filed complete paperwork with Doctor's form in April. It is the end of August and it's been in "final review" for 3 months. I am filing with my credit card company to dispute the payment since they have been uncooperative. Edited 9/12/22 to say I was finally paid on my claim.

Horrible, unethical company
My stay was canceled by the agency I rented through, I the renter didn't request the cancellation. I called to have this undone and the room had already been booked by someone else. They kept my money. I emailed them and never heard back. I emailed Redsky and never heard back. How can my reservation be cancelled without my request and the reservation be taken so they clearly didn't lose any money and they keep my money? I ended up booking same days somewhere else for that weekend because of this and now still missing my money. Money I need for my kids! Following their comment: there is no documentation to provide when I didn't request a cancelation. It was cancelled by Ryson Rentals and immediately booked by another party. Despite my immediate request to NOT cancel the reservation. It has been 60 days since this incident, way past the 30 your policy states.

Too expensive
Too expensive, not worth it. Took months to hear that our claim was denied. It cost over $300 for nothing. We canceled our reservation five months in advance, and one member of our party died, and it still didn’t matter.

I’m like the other people submitting…
I’m like the other people submitting reviews. So so unhappy & very upset with Red Sky Ins. Had to cancel a trip to TN due elderly mother sick & in hospitals numerous times in 2 yr, Got info on mother from her DR. “DENIED”- as was not sick according to Rd Sky- when claim submitted!!! I paid extra when made reservations back in Oct 2021. I then sent a PAYMENT in APRIL 2022 to the Condo Properties to help me with balance that was not due til now. I cancelled mid May, did paperwork, mother back in hospital in June -resubmitted & was denied in August,then appealed & denied. Told Red Sky keep The initial 1st payment but the APRIl 2022 to the Condo needs to be returned as Not Their Money it was a Payment I didn’t have to make! !! I wish I could talk to all of you who are just like me. THIS is not right & someone is keeping out money😔😳

Insurance fraud
In the process of suing them for fraud, if you've been victimized by this company who breached their contract you should too.. ITS NOT ILLEGAL TO RECORD PHONE CALLS IN TEXAS WITHOUT THE OTHER PARTIES KNOWLEDGE. My stay was canceled by the agency I rented through, I the renter did NOT request the cancellation. (Which helps my legal case) There is no documentation to provide when I didn't request a cancelation. It was cancelled by Ryson Rentals and immediately booked by another party. Despite my immediate request to NOT cancel the reservation. It has been 60 days since this incident, way past the 30 their policy states.
