My family & I had a 3 week beach…
My family & I had a 3 week beach vacation booked. A month prior to my vacation my doctor advised me that I needed to have surgery. My surgery was scheduled for a few weeks before our scheduled vacation. Due to restrictions from surgery and complications that arose during I was medically unable to travel. After several months of back and forth,numerous Drs statements & weekly follow up calls I received denial stating it didn’t meet qualifications. There was absolutely no way I could travel due to restrictions & ongoing medical care received that overlapped with out of state scheduled vacation. Simply told it was an elective procedure and I’m out $5,100. Very upsetting to purchase insurance to be told that you should of just waited to have it even when your Doctor Indicated it was needed.

WARNING !!
WARNING !!! Do not purchase travel insurance from Red Sky! Waste of money. Long story short...we rented a beach house in Florida for a few days in early August. Had to leave a day early because I was sick. Contacted Red Sky on the way home and told them. Got home, made an appt to see our family doctor, went in first thing in the morning. Red Sky refused to pay the claim for trip interruption even though I had all the paperwork, including doctors form completed. They said that it was because I didn't go to the doctor before I left and if I read the "contract" I would see that. The representative that I spoke with the morning we left, NEVER mentioned any of this. It's a slimy loophole and they know it. And it took them two months to let me know the outcome. People don't return calls/emails and none of them know what they are doing. SO MANY COMPLAINTS!!!!

Never Again
Completely agree with the other negative reviews. I left my rental three days early because my father in law was not expected to live through the day. He actually passed the day after I got home. I filed and was told they needed an attending physicians statement. I exp the trip was interrupted due to my FIL illness, not mine. I sent a copy of his obituary (confirming I was his DIL) and certified death certificate. In lieu of an aps, I asked for reimbursement for only the date of death and the following day (both of which were paid for in my rental). I was informed the policy cancels the day the trip is interrupted. WHAT?! Why have trip interruption insurance if the policy cancels if it occurs? I called and asked what information they needed that was not already on the death certificate. No answer to that. The answer was restating the policy cancellation info and asking for an aps to allow the claim to be considered. I asked if a statement from Hospice, who attended my FIL for 10 days prior to death, would suffice. Answer - no. Need an aps from the Dr who referred him to Hospice. Which, btw, was a hospitalist in a huge health care system. This is crazy. I am currently waiting on a management callback. There was zero push back when I asked for a manager and they have a 24 - 48 hr window already in place. Apparently this was not an uncommon request, confirmed by the reviews I wish I had read earlier. I just booked another trip with the same realty company. When asked if I wanted insurance - NO - and exp the current situation. The answer for Red Sky Insurance will forever be no. 10/11/22 edit: Yesterday I posted the review. A manager promptly called me last evening around 7:30. Points for that. I was not able to take the call and returned it this morning. This afternoon I got notification there was a response to my review. At the same time I received an email that my claim had been processed and an eob would be available within 24 hrs. I have just received the eob confirming my claim was paid in full. I provided no additional information and the claim was paid. Cudos for doing the right thing. However, since the same information had been there since the claim was filed and death certificate submitted; why wasn't it paid then? Glad the claim is paid. Glad the back and forth is done. Glad I won't have to file a complaint with the State Department of Insurance. Ultimately the right decision was made and thank you for that.

Red Sky Honored Hurricane Ian Claim
We purchased RedSky Travel Insurance via a booking with Garden City Realty in Myrtle Beach. Hurricane Ian had a direct hit near our condo a day before our scheduled arrival. Garden City Realty informed us that the condo would not be inhabitable on the first day of our trip. We canceled the entire week. Although it appeared that by the 3rd day of the week, we could have got into our rental, Red Sky Insurance honored the claim and paid in full.

policy works extended warranty on your car
Filing a claim was a nightmare. You fought against every thing I filed for. You ultimately paid because it was a legitimate claim, but you sure tried not to.

Product is misrepresented by agencies
Still a misrepresented product by "partner" Better Beach rentals. We were directed to the product when we asked for hurricane insurance. A hurricane made the property inaccessible when we expected to use it. Red Sky response does nothing to address this misrepresentation. I strongly recommend not buying this product for that purpose. Use other means. It's a scam. Yes - seems like a scam. We bought Red Sky insurance on the recommendation of Better Beach Rentals in Oak Island, North Carolina. We had booked a beach rental from Sept 29-Oct 5 for a family reunion. In full realization that it was hurricane season, we asked if we could purchase hurricane insurance. Better Beach Rentals said they "partnered" with Red Sky Insurance, so we bought the insurance through Better Beach. The day of our prospective arrival, Hurricane Ian came ashore just south. We stopped our travel and on the advise of locals, including Better Beach employees, and abandoned our trip. The property was unusable for days. Our claim was denied because there was no "Evacuation Order". Every service provider other than Better Beach returned our deposits because they were unable to deliver service during the period. The only money NOT refunded was the insured rental. We are referring the claim to the Illinois Insurance Commissioner for examination.

ZERO STARS-ZERO COMMUNICATION
If there was an option for ZERO STARS, thats exactly what I'd give this company. This company IS TERRIBLE! My family has been vacationing in OBX for 18 years & every year we purchase travel insurance for the unexpected. We booked our vacation home in October of 2021 and had a reservation for September of 2022. Paid our balance in full and had each member of our traveling companions pay their own portion online with their OWN CREDIT CARDS so there was proof of payment. In early September, my grandfather was deemed terminally ill, on hospic care, needed 24/7 care and was unable to travel. We submitted a claim for my grandfather as well as my uncle who was going to stay behind to care for him. We obtained and submitted the attending physicians form, the proof of payment, and all the additional crap documentation they requested. I have been notified several times by email that they don't have what they need to process the claim, yet every single time I call the office to speak with "Whitney" (our claims adjuster) she's magically unavailable, doesn't have a supervisor, never returns my call, can't have my claim escalated, AND Bertram, who answers the phone, seems to think that he can physically see that I sent the documentation and he is unsure of what they are missing and why the claim can't be processed. A few weeks go by, I get an email stating that the claim was paid out to my uncle but it was denied for my grandfather...my grandfather was the terminally ill person, why would they pay the care taker and not the person who was ill. My grandfather ended up passing away 4 days into our trip and I EVEN SUBMITTED A DEATH CERTIFICATE as proof that he passed away in PA while my family was on vacation in NC during the week we had reserved our vacation home, therefore he did NOT go on the trip that he paid for and it still isn't enough. After numerous phone calls and emails, I was told to file an appeal, which I did. In the meantime, I was sent a denial letter for the claim. My uncle physically showed up at the Maryland office only to find that no one would answer the door, when he called, they told him to leave the documents at the door and that "Dana" would call him back, it's been a week now, and no one ever called, no one has been in contact, we have no idea if this claim is open or closed, if it will be paid...it is utterly ridiculous, absolutely horrendous communication and the most unprofessional company I have ever had to work with! We have since emailed the president of the company, filed the appeal again and we fully intend to escalate this matter to the local congressman, the state attorney generals office, chamber of commerce and anywhere else we need too. This was a fully paid policy, the claim 1000% falls in the guidelines for coverage and my family is entitled to this reimbursement! This company is a scam! You cannot deny a policy holder a valid claim when there is more than enough proof of a viable claim and all of the information has been submitted! I will NEVER, EVER, EVER make a reservation with a property management company that deals with this travel insurance company EVER AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and spare yourself the agony of dealing with these uneducated and incredibly unprofessional people and book elsewhere! P.S.- my claim was submitted September 7th, 2022 (give or take 1 day) and today is now November 22, 2022 and we are still hanging in the balance. This is a disgrace!

Horrible customer service

What horrible travel insurance
What horrible travel insurance! I bought insurance for a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. What a waste! I had to cancel our trip. I was completely surprised to have my claim denied. The stipulations for claims were never disclosed when I bought the insurance. I will be sure to tell others who think about travel insurance not to buy it through Red Sky/Arch Insurance.

The whole process was easy
The whole process was easy. The only improvement would be better communication, I submitted claim and about two weeks later when I checked status online, it said that they needed more information to process, but was never told what was needed. After three weeks I called and was told they had evertything they needed. That was the only confusing part. So if online status stated they had everything and was in process would have been helpful.

Red Sky is a Red Flag
My family and I booked a week at Rosemary Beach in Florida for mid May of this year. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last September. She bought travel insurance through the company the Rosemary Beach cottage company suggested (Red Sky). After months of grueling chemotherapy, radiation, and hospitalizations, her surgeon finally cleared her for surgery to remove the tumor. However he was only able to schedule it the week before our beach trip. My mom rebooked for the first week of June. Instead of working with the rental company and our family to apply the deposit to another week, my mom lost her $4000 deposit completely. If either company had an ounce of humanity and empathy they would have worked with us to apply the deposit to a few weeks later. We are extremely disappointed and will go elsewhere to purchase travel insurance in the future.

Claim took way to long..
Claim took way to long... after over a month I was told more information was needed and after it was supplied I was then told it needed to be on a letterhead. It almost seems your business model is to drag it out so we get tired and forget about it. I had to keep calling, no one from your company had the decency to contact me directly... I have given you my money a number of times, this is the last time PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME
