Liars
They lie to you. I was told I had till May 1,2024 to make my payment before 5:00pm. The company defaulted my loan and said I was told wrong information. I have be arguing with them about this. They even have the recording of the conversation and admit that is what I was told. I have emails and text messages which state that. Now they will not do anything to fix it. I get told well we told you that but there’s nothing we can do.

Bait and Switch
Looked into buying some furniture, not super expensive and Bread said to apply for financing. I clicked the link and applied and I received an email stating that it I was pre-approved for up to $2,500. Great, I think, so I go back to shop. I select $1,800 in merchandise & check out. Bread immediately declines me. Ridiculous. (And by the way, I can easily pay cash for the furniture)

garbage customer service. won't let you cancel a payment. you cannot use credit cards to make payments only debit and checking. they are not reporting anything to credit bureau. these people suck

Basically a Scam. Avoid.
Filled out all information, was told I qualified for a plan. Went through selections on shop, was asked for personal info, including pictures of my drivers license. Then I was told I was denied for unknown reasons. Scam site. Don't give them anything.

Terrible website, difficult to contact
Someone tried using some of my personal information for a fraudlent credit application. After reporting to crime and fraud prevention agencies I tried to contact the company to inform them and rrquest my details be purged. Their website is amateur to say the least. They have no email addresses and can only be contacted via post or phone. I'm in the UK, they are in the US and they don't even explain which of their addresses are for what purposes, this can only be determined if you have a card issued by them. I wish them the best of luck if they ever recieve a GDPR sar or data removal request!

Awful Experience.
My credit score is like 825; hence, I've never been turned down for anything at all until I applied for a finance plan from Bread Pay because I didn't want to pay it all at once. I went through their ridiculous process including calling them 3 times, emailing them 4 times, and uploading my driver's license. As a result, for the work which lasted 2 hours, I was denied and had to pay for it all. Therefore, I have a perpetual negative opinion of Bread Pay and will never think of using it.

I qualified for it but they denied me due to me "answering the verification wrong" I answered correctly the stuff they were saying had nothing to do with me I was lost when they were asking me. I called to get it resolved and no help they were acting like they cared but you can hear it in their voice they were being sarcastic they just wanted you off the phone. saying " aww I am sorry nope can't help you" I am pissed because they don't want to help.

First time using well trying to use : I get approved- the order doesn’t go through not because of my error but because of some IT issues your system was having- I wait PATIENTLY FOR 2 WEEKS - You Finally Get the error fixed - I resubmit the order- Get Denied because I applied within the same 90 days and there’s nothing you can do ? It really feels as though I am being punished for something I had nothing to do with. But not your problem not nothing you can do cool. Don’t even email me back.

Stay away!
Received a home equity loan. Mortgage company sent cert checks out to my lenders. Bread supplied me with a mailing address and a check was sent for my loan balance plus $600 in error. Check was cashed 5 weeks ago. After numerous calls I'm still waiting for my funds to be mailed back to me. I had been told various things about payoff and funds to be returned by many representatives. Comity Bank and Bread do not have more than message access to one another. Worst experience I've ever had with a financial institution. Still waiting for $1600 of my funds to be returned to me! No one has or provides answers and now getting hammered for being behind in loan payments too. Even upper managers have not been able to help. STAY AWAY!!!

Negative Stars
I would give this company negative stars if I could. BreadPayment account was opened to finance a membership. That membership was cancelled in under 3 days and that company notified Bread. 60 days later, I am still disputing the charge as Bread will not close the account, even after being contacted multiple by the initial membership company. I am now receiving collection calls on an account that should have been closed 2 months ago. In addition, their phone system does not give you an option to speak with a representative. Most of the choices are recordings, and if your issue doesn't fit into their options, you dont get to speak with anyone. Beware, if you are lucky enough to pick an option that gets you to a human, that rep will tell you that isnt within their area and hang up on you. They also say they dont have the capability to transfer within departments or to a supervisor/manager. So not only is their phone system/customer service practically non-existent, they have sneaky and under the table business processes that make it close to impossible to resolve. Im warning you, as my only option to get resolution, I have filed a complaint with the BBB and if necessary, will be hiring a lawyer. Dont do “business” with this company or you will get screwed!!!!

Won't finance to individuals with phone…
Won't finance to individuals with phone service through Cricket Wireless??! Customer service rep said they don't finance to people with prepaid cell phone plans, but I don't have a prepaid cell phone - my carrier is Cricket and I pay a monthly bill just like every other wireless consumer. Get it together, Bread Pay - you suck.

Trying to buy a new PC, get the option to use Bread Pay to pay in installments and save a little cash month-to-month. I get the options, but no way to actually continue with the payment and no information on why I can't.

Made a purchase through Wayfair using Bread financial and literally cannot pay my tiny bill of $30 due to not having a bank acct. if you do not have an account, do not use this finance company, they offer no other forms of payment.

Tried two different bank cards to payoff my loan both was declined for fraud. Then was ask to provided my bank routing and account number(did Not nor will ever) told them no. Terrible service a scam more like it! P.S also got into a argument with an employee about Bank of America not having master cards. I have one…. So explain

Beware customer service
Bread seems like a useful service, but I would warn anyone concerned about online customer service - which appears to be performed completely via chatbot. Two attempts to get a question answered, two replies that completely ignore the question asked, instead providing irrelevant canned responses. I will say the (useless) responses were very prompt ;) but glad I got this insight into their business practices before committing to any business with them.

Misrepresents and deceives. I signed up with BREAD to do monthly payments for hearing aids. They approved me and accepted my HSA card. When they went to charge the card, they had programmed their merchant code as a bank instead of a health products division so - rightly - the HSA Bank declined the transaction. They sent me an email blaming me for not having enough money in the HSA account, which was untrue. When I got through to a supervisor she said "that happens a lot" and they don't warn people ahead of time that will can't use the payment form they actually accept. No good people! Beware.

Thieves Do not use this company
Do not use this company! Horrible company. For over 1 month I have been trying to get them to credit my account for a payment made on July 1 that they claim they did not receive. I sent them proof of payment via overnight signature required that they received On July 26. In spite of my having proof they still claim they did not receive payment and are charging me late fees plus. interest

I can't sign in
I can't sign in. I go to the Log In screen, enter my email address, and instead of allowing me to enter my password, it asks for my cell number. Fine, except the pin number they send is not recognized, after just two seconds or less! I tried 9 times before giving up. So now I can't pay my bill and it will affect my credit rating. Very frustrating.

Truly the worst company to deal with
Truly the worst company to deal with, I have a debt consolidation loan with Bread and the payment to one of my creditors never went through. I'm currently waiting for a response from the company, and when I call them all I get is a person reading a pre written response to my problem telling me it takes five to seven days to find the issue. When I tell them that five to seven days have already past, they repeat it could take another five to seven days, meanwhile I'm paying interest on money from them and the creditor they were supposed to pay off. As soon as this problem is corrected I'm looking for another company and paying Bread off. BEWARE this company

780 credit score and still needed 3+ days for approval? What a joke
Was prequalified for $5,900 and was about to make a purchase for $1,400. While completing checkout I was redirected to my email stating that I needed to further secure my identity - ok. I called and did that with a Bread representative then she told me I was going to have to wait around 3 days for my application to be processed. Before I receive an answer about accepting my purchase. I have a credit score of 780 and make six figures, how did this not instantly get approved? Anyways, I cancelled the purchase which is really unfortunate for the company I was going to buy from. Bread financial needs to get it together, another similar company approved me with 0 issues. What a shame.
