The Most Comfortable Shoes I've Owned
I bought my Xero shoes in April and have been wearing no other pair of shoes all summer! I bought the Umara Z-Trail in black because they have a bit of extra padding for light hiking/camping and seemed to go with more of my clothes, and could maybe be disguised with my black tights. Turns out, they do look a bit strange with tights but I don't mind looking dorky because these are so comfy! The website made it easy to buy my size confidently as they provide measurements for each size, and how to measure your own feet. Shipped quickly. These shoes are incredibly comfortable, but I give the rating of only stars because the soles are already peeling a bit. However, I continue to wear them and haven't reached out to the company yet.

Great huaraches, great customer service and education
I ordered their DIY kit two years ago and the sandals are still going strong. Love being able to feel the ground without getting dirty feet from just going barefoot! Once I figured out how to walk properly* they've become the comfiest footwear I own, and they're fantastic for working on proper running form. I'm still dreaming of getting one of their close-toed shoes but with the exchange rate and shipping costs they're still a bit out of reach. * In addition to their fantastic customer service all around, the owners have put a TON of information on their site about running and walking the way our bodies were designed to. I've learned so much and am feeling so much more comfortable and strong on my feet, which in turn has done amazing things for my posture.

The only pair of shoes I wear
This company has the best huaraches I’ve ever worn. I currently own 10 pairs in various colors/thicknesses/styles and my husband owns 15! They have amazing customer service, a wealth of informative videos and articles, and the shows are great too! I have recommended these to several of my friends and they have all fallen in love as well. I was very excited when they came it with the closed toe versions, as I can now wear them to work. My feet haven’t hurt at all since I started wearing these.

Excellent support
Company with great products and excellent support! Their Z-trek sandals is literally what I'm wearing every day. When it tore apart ahead of time their support was kind enough to send me a new pair. Very much recommended!

Xero shoes - Prio and Cloud sandals
I recently found xero shoes through trying to search for different minimalist shoe brands. I came across the name a few times where people were talking in high regards. I popped over to the website and found that they were very reasonably priced. Naturally as I hadn't purchased from the site in the past I made my purchase from the clearance section. I purchased the prio shoe and also cloud sandal. As I am in the UK and xero is US I had to pay customs of around £20 (my shopping basket was around £70). They delivery did take some time however I did order around 4th July. The shoes when they did arrive were well packaged and well presented. The images on the website do not do these justice, if I'm completely honest when ordering the prio I was not sure about the design and if I'd like them. My opinion changed as soon as I opened the box. Much nicer when you have them in your hand or on your feet for that matter. The soles are magic, they are comfy yet nothing to them in terms of depth. They offer a nice amount of cushioning but still allow you to feel the ground. For anyone that hasn't tried minimal shoes, there is something satisfying that I cannot explain how or why when you can feel the ground beneath you while wearing shoes. The shoes seem well made and I hope they will last, the sole and materials all look robust but time will tell. The sandals take some time to adjust and get to fit 100% but there are plenty of adjustments that make this eventually a really nice fit. I watched the video from the guys at xero to help me adjust them. This was a game changer and I feel I could do anything in my sandals and I have. I have purposely wore them as often as possible for a period of around 2 weeks and notice my body just feels happier and healthier. I move better, less aches and pains, joints feel free. The reason of the 4 stars and not 5 is basically the time for delivery and custom charges which you could argue isn't xero shoes fault however it was part of my experience and that is what I'm reviewing. Also the time to take to get the sandals just right. All round I whole heartily recommend xero shoes, so much so that I signed up to the affiliate program as the shoes have helped me I want to share the love and try help as many people as I know.

Best running shoes I have ever used
I have been a runner for 20 years, and these shoes are the most comfortable and natural feeling running shoes that I have ever worn! I have a history of getting blisters from my running shoes, and these are comfortable enough to wear without socks and no blisters! They are also so breathable! My body feels better using these shoes because my feet can move naturally.

Great shoes
Great shoes. I had a bit of a problem with a pair of shoes. Obviously a bit annoying but you can always find a lot out about a company when things go wrong. Xero were outstanding. Absolutely world class customer service. You can tell that they genuinely want to sell great products that make happy customers. Bravo

Good but limited
I bought a pair of Z-Trail Xeros owing to their light weight and slimline style (I'm tall and slim, so chunky sandals - like Chacos - look crazy on me). However they are ridiculously wide, which is okay for casual strolling, but as soon as they get wet (rain, water trails, etc), your feet slide about atrociously - and dangerously. You can reduce this by making the toe strap as tight as possible, but then they're really uncomfortable and squeeze bloodflow. I cn only recommend these for people with extra wide feet. It's a shame, if Xeros did widths as well, these would be a great buy.

Sorry these didn't work for you, Nick. For others reading this: We have templates for the sandals so you can see how they fit your feet here: https://xeroshoes.com/xerofit/ (linked to on each product page). Also, for men with narrower feet, we suggest looking at the "women's" style, which is narrower. And, vice versa for women with wider feet.

Great footwear and service from a great company
I really respect what Xero Shoes is doing. On a personal level, I likely would not be on my current part toward ultra running if I hadn't made this discovery. I know I've previously reviewed some of their footwear and the company as a whole, but I need to add to it. All said, I own the Prio, Genesis sandal, Naboso Trail sandal, Mesa Trail, HFS and Alpine boot. All mens. Plus my daughters have the Prio. I love every one of these (I can't say much about the boot, though, as I've not worn it in snow yet). I most recently acquired the HFS and the Alpine boot. The HFS is sort of like a sexier Prio, with a different (tire inspired) tread pattern. Very comfy without socks, in my experience, and I've done shorter and longer distance at various speeds/effort levels. I believe I did get a small blister on my big toe on my break-in run, but oh well. It hasn't happened since and hardly ever happens to me period anymore. I feel like I could wear the HFS all day, especially on paved surfaces and easy non-mucky trails. The boot is comfy, but again, I've barely worn it - really just to feel the fit. Gotta wait for snow and cold to properly test these out. They feel adequately substantial and warm, while maintaining some flexibility (almost definitely more than you will get in any other true winter boot). I think the Mesa Trail is possibly my favorite Xero shoe, and my favorite shoe ever overall (though the HFS is pretty close, for a non-trail shoe). Now that my feet have seemed to spread a bit (apparently, this happens with some people who transition to minimalist footwear), I kind of wish I'd went up a half size, but overall it's perfect, especially if I am sockless or in thinner socks. I did add a velcro gaiter attachment, which really extends the utility of these for me. I have to admit - A bit before my last haul of Xero shoes, I actually grabbed a couple of more traditional heavy duty trail shoes (Altra King MT 1. and Salming Elements 2). Depending on the trail/conditions and target effort, I do think it is worthwhile to wear something like these over a minimalist shoe. Honestly, I am super comfortable in my Mesa Trails for 85% of my time on trails (including gnarly stuff) but if conditions are rather sloppy and/or the terrain is extra ouch (especially on longer runs), I personally like to switch to my heavy hitters. I also sometimes do this if I just want a break from feeling the terrain (gasp, I know this is sacrilege in minimalist land), which can be a nice change of pace every so often. I could not, however, wear the heavy duty stuff all the time. I prefer my Xeros overall. I also really enjoy Steven's podcast, facebook live stuff, etc. Their marketing is not amazing, verging on just being too much/annoying at times. I think they excel at what they produce, have a healthy perspective on the industry, and I look forward to whatever they will be releasing in the future.

Xero takes no responsibility for their shipping mistakes.
Purchased two pairs of shoes. Xero shipped to the wrong address in different state. Contacted customer service and was told it’s the carrier’s fault, and I should contact the carrier. What a joke. I’ll be disputing the charge since I have no shoes and no resolution from the company. Edit: customer service verified I gave the correct shipping address so I’m not sure what would be “changed”.

Sorry to hear about this, Alex. If the carrier made a mistake somehow, the reason our Customer Happiness Team recommended contacting the carrier is that only the recipient can make a change after the shipment has left our warehouse. If you've contacted the carrier and not gotten any help, please reach back out to us so we can take the appropriate next steps. 303.447.3100, M-F, 9-5 Mountain time

Xero shoes review not good
I purchased a pair of the sneakers and am totally disappointed. BTW these shoes are made in China. My toes are jammed against the side of the shoe and the old sneakers I have are much wider in the toe area, Very uncomfortable and the advertising is dishonest. I called about returning them and they refuse to refund on the shipping and I have to pay to ship them back. Basically I was ripped off and end up paying around $20 to try on a pair of cheap shoes from China.. I will never buy from them and encourage anyone to think before you deal with this company who is dishonest in their advertising and has a pathetic excuse for customer service I have taken pictures of the xero shoes compared to other shoes I have which are several different brands and they are ALL wider in the toe area than the xero shoes and very noticeably so. If I could post the pictures here I would or if anyone knows how to add a picture here I will. If anyone would like to see the pictures I would be glad to email.

Hi Carol, Thank you for giving Xero Shoes a try -- we sincerely appreciate it. We’re sorry to hear that the shoes didn’t fit you the first time around, and would love to help you find a pair of Xeros that works better for you. We do offer free shipping on exchanges in the US -- we can’t promise that we’re right for everybody, but almost all of our customers have been able to find their perfect fit through our exchange program. And, as much as we wish it were otherwise, we’re simply not yet large enough to refund shipping costs or pay for return shipping on products that are being sent back to us for refunds, which we clearly state in the “Exchanges and Returns” link at the bottom of our website. Our toe boxes are wider than most other mainstream brands, but not all. You mentioned that you took pictures of our brand compared with others, and that ours were very noticeably narrower -- that hasn't been the experience of our other customers, so we'd love to see what you're seeing! Please email the pictures to us at [email protected], and also kindly include pictures of the sizes as marked on the shoes themselves, just to cover all of the bases. Thank you!

Best Shoes, Bad inventory, No Response.
Great shoes. My Prios are best shoes I've ever owned. I've been trying to get a pair of shoes for my wife to use at work before Christmas. She picked two pairs she likes, the "Aptos" and the flats (whatever the flats are called). This was in November. Xero shoes has yet to have her size and yet to respond to any email. I've emailed them four times without a response. Nobody is watching their email inquiry I guess. By now it's too late. Doesn't matter because they still don't have either shoe.

Hi Timothy, thank you for your feedback. We’re absolutely thrilled that you love your Prios! Regarding our new Aptos and Phoenix styles, sales were better than expected and we ran out of inventory pretty quickly -- we’re sorry that your wife’s size hasn’t been available. We do have more inventory coming in the spring, but feel free to also check our site periodically -- sometimes new pairs trickle back to our warehouse through our exchange program. Regarding your inquiries, we’re shocked to hear that you haven’t received any response! Because of increased sales, it’s taking us just a little bit longer to respond to our customers than we’d like, but it’s unheard of for our customers to not get a response at all. Would you mind emailing me directly at [email protected]? I want to make sure I’ve got your correct email address so I can make sure you’re taken care of. Thanks again -- I look forward to talking with you soon!

Xero surprise!
I just received my women's Prio shoes last week and as soon as I put them on it was an instant ¨Ahhhhh¨! I am 60 years old and very active, but it has always been a constant struggle with foot pain and blisters with most of the shoes I wear unless it's a flip-flop. My first order a few weeks ago was for a pair of Z Trek sandals and as soon as I put them on, I knew there was something different about these shoes; I was right! Two weeks later I ordered the Prio and my next pair will be the TerraFlex for hiking. My feet haven't been this happy in years! I am so glad that I was following an AT hikers group and Xero shoes kept coming up, so I decided to try a pair, so glad that I did. I am taking these shoes to Alaska in June on a hiking trip and I will definitely be telling others to check them out. --

My initial experience with Prio shoes
I purchased a pair of Prio shoes. I really loved the way they felt and looked. After walking in them for a short five mile walk I developed a painful area on the top of the second toe on my right foot. When I got home and looked the area was a bloody abrasion. I could no longer walk in them without a bandaid. After two weeks I still can't. When walking the right shoe just seems to bend and then rub on the same place over and over. Because of this even the bandaid has a very hard time staying on. When this sore finally heals I will try again but as of now the Prio shoe doesn't work for me.

I would not do business with this company
I ordered shoes direct from xero. I was going on a trip and paid for two day shipping. The shoes did not arrive in two days and then when I asked for the difference between ground and two day shipping I was told no, as they don’t guarantee shipping! We had several back and forth emails and it finally ended with me returning the two orders I placed, being charged $9.89 for each order plus being out the original shipping of two day fed ex that did not happen. I would stay away from this company as their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Hi Allison, Thank you for ordering from Xero Shoes, and we’re sorry to hear that FedEx was unable to deliver the shoes within 2 business days -- it certainly sounds very frustrating to have paid for expedited shipping, only to have the carrier not deliver the shoes in time for your trip! It’s true that we can’t guarantee the carrier’s delivery times, especially given the delays that the shipping industry has experienced in the past year. It’s also true that we aren’t able to yet offer free shipping on returns, but we do offer an optional return label as a convenience -- using this label does result in a flat rate of $9.99 being deducted from the total refund amount, but most customers find it to be much easier and often less expensive than if they purchased a return label on their own. Also, to clarify, in your particular case you can use the one return label to return both orders in the same package, so if you choose to use the optional label we provide, there would only be one $9.99 deduction (since there’s only one return label). Otherwise, you can of course use your own shipping label and receive a full refund on the price of the products. Having said all of that, the fact remains that you paid for expedited shipping and didn’t get to enjoy your Xero Shoes on your trip. We truly do want each of our customers to have a great experience with our product and service, so our Operations Manager will be reaching out to you directly to make sure everything gets resolved to your satisfaction!

Exchange Policy a nightmare
Xero shoes was recommended to me by a friend when I mentioned that I needed a pair of sneakers. After reading about the zero-drop shoes on the site, I decided to give it a try and I purchased a pair of Speed Force. Originally I was lured by the sales price, however the sales price did not apply to most of the sizes, including mine. The shoes arrived within a reasonable time. Unfortunately, when I tried them, they were far too tight, even though I ordered half size larger as per instructions on the site. I was also disappointed to see that these shoes were made in China, which I did not expect. I returned the shoes following their instructions, and did not order a new pair since I specified in my return that the shoes were an exchange for a larger size, also specified. I sent the shoes back on March 12th, they had been delivered on March 22nd, and on March 26 I sent them an email enquiring about the possible delivery date of the new shoes. They replied that it could take up to 10 business days after arrival to complete the order. It seems to me quite a long time for an exchange, but I'm in the game now and just have to wait... Today, April 6th, I haven't received the shoes yet, so I reached out to them. I find out that I should have placed a second order when I returned my original shoes...ok, it is on their site, although I think it could be better explained, but why not inform me when I first enquired about it? Answer: it's not the way their system works. Fine, they can run their company any way they like it, of course, but this is it for me with them. I'm in customer service too, and in my opinion waiting this long for an exchange to find out that I'm back to square one, it's not acceptable. At this point I asked for a refund, and ...I'm charged $15 for the shipping. I will never know if these shoes are really that great or not, but that's ok. There are other companies that have zero-drop shoes, and the best part...I found a few made in the USA!

5 or 6 pairs of Xero Shoes, Great Warranty
I have had about 5 or 6 pairs of xero shoes. I started with the basic running sandal, which I had to assemble and have moved up from there. It took some getting used to landing properly but when I did, I stopped having knee aches. My latest pair are the mesa trail hiking shoe. They are incredibly comfortable. They wore out a bit early (after maybe 1,500 miles and year or so of use) but the customer service person was really helpful and I ended up making a warranty claim. They sent me a mailer so I could return the shoes, and they sent me a new pair, equally comfortable. After half a dozen pairs, I'm hooked.

Lots of wear on first pair, being replaced
5/17/2021: Xero is taking care of this and sending another pair. I appreciate their support on this and I look forward to having another pair to run and walk in. These are advertised as running/ racing shoes and around 200 miles I have a hole in the sole. Love walking around in these, most comfortable shoes I own. Will reevaluate running in them when I get the new pair and hopefully they will last a little longer.

Hi Wes, thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about the issue with your shoes. We have two distinct warranty programs for our customers -- one is a 24 month manufacturing warranty that provides a free replacement pair for manufacturing defects, and the other is our 5000-mile sole warranty which makes it possible for our customers to get replacements for a substantial discount if their soles wear down to less than 1mm thick under the ball or heel. Our abrasion-resistant soles typically last a very long time, so we initially offered you information on the 5000-mile warranty program since that’s the usual solution for sole wear of this sort. However, in taking a closer look at your email it seems like your pair should be covered by our manufacturing warranty program instead. We stand behind our products and want you to have the same great experience as thousands of our other customers, so we’ll reach out to you separately by email to get things taken care of for you. As a personal side note, my own HFS pair is holding up great after more than a year of running in them -- it’s one of my most-used Xero Shoes, so I’m personally very confident that you’ll have much better luck the second time around. Thank you so much for being a Xero Shoes customer, we really appreciate your business and your feedback.

Made my feet and ankles hurt
I ordered a pair of Aptos and a pair of the Colorado, I've had them a month and worn each pair once a week. Initially after putting them on they were comfortable but after walking around in each pair for a day my feet and ankles really hurt. I figured I had to get used to them so I tried again a week later and still the horrible pain. I tried to contact Xero twice and have not heard back from them. I'm hoping they can do something for me or make a suggestion since 160 bucks is alot to flush down the toilet in these times. my suggestion is walk around in the house with them for a while so they can still be returned if they make your feet hurt. I guess if they won't return or exchange for something that will work better for me than the dogs will have some expensive chew toys

Hi Andrew, thank you for your feedback and for giving Xero Shoes a try! Thank you for your patience -- we see big upticks in volume during the summer when more people are getting outside, so it sometimes takes us a couple of days to respond to everyone during these peak times. Regarding the shoes, we’re glad you found them comfortable initially, but are sorry to hear of the issues you’ve been experiencing during the transition. Any time a person tries minimalist footwear, the transition process is unique for each individual. We want you to have a great experience with our brand, so our customer service team will respond to you right away. In the end, we hope you’ll join the thousands of our other customers who tell us that their Xero Shoes are the most comfortable footwear they’ve ever worn!

Be prepared to pay shipping fees.
The company is a great company and have responded to all of my queries. I purchased a pair of shoes which turned out to be too big for me (even though I was specific about the measurements) so I had to return them. I had to pay the cost of shipping when I returned them and was refunded the cost of the shoes. I was not refunded the shipping cost when they were sent to me. So, I am out of pocket about €30 with nothing to show for it. They are an online retailer and this is how business is done, which I get. I really would love to get a pair of their shoes as I think they look great but I am not willing to chance being out of pocket again. Pity really!
