Utter disorganization
Utter disorganization. Invalid passwords and links. Confusing instructions. Inconsistent contact persons. A virtual nightmare. Let the lender know what a mess Credible was. Will NOT recommend to anyone

Called today after receiving a letter…
Called today after receiving a letter in the mail, was extremely disappointed. First time got hung up on, second time got transferred to the same person sadly her name was Liz you could tell she didn't want to be there and seemed miserable. Before even being greeted and giving you any information on what services they offer, they want to pull your credit. I would never disclose that information to a company that does business that way and who doesnt pride itself on customer service. I will stay with my loan server these people are disgusting

Household Income Troubles
My co-signer and I receive the same household income, but Credible's system always calculated it incorrectly between us. This occurred about 5 times in a row. Instead I went directly to one of its loan affiliates and completed the application for refinancing on the first try. What should've taken 5 days ended up taking over a month and caused unneeded stress. Credible needs to simplify the system for calculating shared household income with co-signers.

Sorry to hear that it took so long to complete your loan application but thank you for the feedback. We are constantly trying to improve our customer experience and feedback like yours is so valuable to ensure experiences like the one you had don't occur again.

Rates are too high
Rates are too high, not competitive
Date of experience: March 01, 2018
Hi Noah, The rates and terms you can qualify for with our partner lenders will depend on factors including your credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and credit score. Not everyone will qualify for lower rates. Here are some steps you can take to get lower rates: https://www.credible.com/blog/free-credit-monitoring-improve-your-credit-score-better-rates-on-student-loan-refinancing/.

This site didn’t help at all!
This site didn’t help at all, my wife and I applied for student loan refinancing and we make 83,000 in our household. Student loans are in good standings I have a fair credit history/score. And still not connected. Seems to me this site isn’t helpful at nor do they care about the working class; of getting out of college and trying to maintain a stable lifestyle while making payments on high interest student loans. What a joke.

We are sorry to hear that you did not receive any prequalified options with our partner lenders. Unfortunately, prequalified options are not guaranteed. When our prequalification form is completed, we do a soft credit pull that does not affect your credit. This allows for us to determine if there were any options available based on your credit profile and the information you provided. If you felt like you should have received options, then we recommend that you reach out to our Client Success team at 866-540-6005 for further assistance.

Don't wast your time.
This site is crap, I have good credit (674) and not one offer was given. Not only was I not given an offer at $50k, it gave me nothing at $10k and even at $300.00 this site is worthless. You would be better off wasting your time else where. Jimmy Evans

Hi Jimmy, The article here https://www.credible.com/blog/build-credit/ details how Fair Isaac Corp. characterizes FICO scores: --800 and above: “Exceptional” — only 1 percent of borrowers with scores in this range are likely to become delinquent --740-799: “Very good” — about 2 percent of borrowers in this range are likely to become delinquent --670-739: “Good” — about 8 percent of borrowers in this bucket are likely to end up delinquent --580-669: “Fair” — odds are about 28 percent will become delinquent --579 and lower: “Poor” — about 61 percent are likely to become delinquent Credible is not a lender, but a marketplace that's integrated with lenders and credit bureaus to show you the actual rates you prequalify for with multiple, vetted lenders. If you'd like additional insights into your own, unique situation and what may have caused you to be ineligible for any prequalified options, our client success team would be happy to speak to you. 866-540-6005

I felt harassed
While Credible helped me identify the rates and bank with whom to consolidate my student loans, the staff bombarded me with emails, phone calls and text messages. They were from multiple people and multiple area codes. I honestly felt harassed. I emailed Credible asking to have just one person handle my "case" and communicate with me. This request was never acknowledged nor acted upon. Rather than recommend a friend to Credible, I would warn anyone not to give Credible his or her contact information!

No company choice
For a trusted website like NerdWallet to team up with Credible, they should be more forthright about who will hold and service refinanced loans. Only one company, CollegeAve, came up as an option so there was no opportunity to compare lenders and rates. In addition, CollegeAve services their loans through Navient which I didn't find out until CollegeAve sent an email for how to make payments and it transferred to a Navient online login. CollegeAve has great customer service and got the loan taken care of quickly... however Navient has awful customer service if you can even get them on the phone. Using credible doesn't work if they only give you one option and aren't transparent about company backgrounds/relationships (Navient is basically Sallie Mae and I had no idea until I already agreed to the loan). This should be made clear when you're browsing lenders.

Hi Willem, Thank for your the feedback. I took a quick glance at your request and it seems like you received rates from more than one lender. There might be times where you only qualify for one due to your credit profile or eligibility. Also transparency is key for us and we do provide you with who the loan servicer is on our dashboard. I am happy to jump on a call with you so we can learn more about your experience and how we can improve it, I look forward to your call. Best, Sandeep @ Credible 866-540-6005

Student Loan Rip Off
Credible was easy to use - but the loan servicer I received is awful. They said there are no pre-payment penalties but it was a lie. When I inquired about it they gave me a convoluted explanation on interest that did not answer my question.

Waste of time
I read some reviews and it sounded to me like this service could save a lot of time in applying for a whole bunch of quotes at once. What ended up happening is that I got four offers, three of which were simply just click throughs from their web site that took me to the real lender's sites where I had to start completely from scratch. None of the information I gave credible was pre-filled. I was also hoping that I could get all my credit checks done within the allowed 3 day "credit shopping" period. The reality is that all you're probably getting with credible are the "soft checks" that don't show up on your credit report anyways. The "hard checks" actually come when you go to a lender and fully complete the application. I found this site to be a complete waste of time. I even called in for advice on refinancing and I found them to be completely unhelpful.

Hi J, Thank you for providing feedback and I am genuinely sorry to hear about your experience with Credible. Credible generally will show you any offers you received from our partner lenders on our dashboard, however some clients will receive more offers than others due to their credit worthiness. In some cases our partner lenders might need you to apply directly through their site due to their guidelines, were working on this and hope to have a solution in the future. Furthermore some of our partner lenders will pre-fill your information from credible when you go through the process. Regarding credit checks and rate shopping FICO, the provider of the most commonly used credit scores in the world, considers credit inquiries for the same type of financial product over a typical shopping period (less than 30 days) as “rate shopping” and counts them as a single inquiry. Credible submits your offer request to its partner lenders for the same financial product over a period of a few days, and therefore meets the “rate shopping” criteria and should have less of an impact on your credit score than searching beyond 30 days. Also to note, Credible does not pull your credit at any time. However, a lender may choose to pull your credit to assess your eligibility for an offer, depending on both its terms of use and eligibility criteria. Once again I apologize for your experience with Credible and I would love the opportunity to hear your concerns and bring them to our team. Feel free to email me at [email protected] and we can setup a time to chat over the phone. Sandeep Chaudhary Client Success

not worth your time (Can I give a 0?)
UPDATE: They really don't want me to post this - it's been challenged now 4 times. I think my below email to their head of marketing sums it up: From: Anthony Sent: Friday, December 19, 2014 12:19 PM To: credible guy Cc: Anthony Subject: RE: Following up on your refinancing offers via Credible... Hey, Thanks for the email. I think this is the 3rd email you’ve sent me like the below. I am responding to your email because you would love to find out why I never bothered submitting stuff to Citizens Bank. Honestly I had forgotten about why I disliked Credible so much that I blocked it out of my mind. I logged back in and remembered why now. Let’s start with Credible itself (irony in the name). You basically represent that you have lenders who are willing to refinance my student loans and imply basically they’re ready to fight for my business. Credible holds itself out as being easy and you can do it in as little as “30 seconds.” Regardless of whether it actually takes 30 seconds, your website has implied and the message it sent to me was (1) you are going to have multiple offers and have a choice in your lender and (2) this is going to be so easy it will be as if no time passed at all. In fact, let’s go back to your 3 points: (1) compare with my peers, (2) submit one form and (3) choose the best offer. Well, your impressions backfired and turned me completely off once reviewed. Let’s review my 3 (THREE) “offers.” One is as you indicate, Citizens Bank needs more information! But isn’t the point of taking as long as I did to give you the information up front is to make the back end brainless and easy? Apparently not as Citizens Bank needs more information. CU Student Loans… what do I say about this? They’re not accepting new refinancing offers. How is this even an offer you present to me? Honestly it gives me 2 impressions – (1) CU Student loans is a joke and (2) by presenting this to me you just appear small, inefficient and unprofessional. And last, but certainly not least, is Education Success Loans. To your credit, it is an actual quote… sort of. It gives me a term and a range. It tells me its variable even though I specifically requested a fixed rate loan. BEST YET, I have to apply directly to their site. Your company reminds me of the quote from Office Space when the consultants interviews Tom Smykowski and finally the consultants ask him “What would you say you do here, Tom?” and he responds with “Well-well look. I already told you: I deal with the customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that?” To me that describes Credible succinctly. In fact, since you operate behind a website I’m not even sure it qualifies as people skills, but let’s give you the benefit of the doubt there. So what would you do if you were in my position? Your company takes my information and passes it on to these “lenders.” You promise quotes but you don’t deliver quotes. One of your lenders doesn’t even lend, and the others I need to fill out their application. So I just have to ask you… What would you say you do here? I normally don’t take the time to write these letters – most of the time you really DON’T want opinions like this, and based on the work of the site you must have had some serious angel backers and venture capitalists. It’s a great idea as well. Your company’s execution, however, is poorly done while its build-up is high – two things you never want a business to be. Thanks for the holiday wishes, and best of luck with Credible. (My FICO is fine, thanks!)

Site wasn't working for me
I couldn't get through my whole transaction. I thought I did, but felt it was odd I never received any correspondence after, so about a week later I logged in and it was back to the beginning asking me to choose a loan. I called Credible, he didn't really know what was going on. I tried again, it would get stuck on one page, so I said forget it. I went to the actual loan company's site and applied through it.

Hi David, Thanks for taking the time to reach out with your review. Reviewing our records, we believe this review is saying that our partner lender ultimately approved you for a smaller amount than what had appeared on the Credible marketplace. We pride ourselves on the accuracy of the offers we display on the Credible marketplace, so we are contacting our partner to confirm these facts. As an online marketplace that enables consumers to check rates from multiple lenders based on a soft credit pull and customer-reported information, our partners sometimes learn new information when completing a full underwriting that leads to changes in final offers. If you have any questions or anything else you'd like to share with us we can be reached by email at [email protected] and by phone at 866-540-6005, Monday through Thursday 9am - 9pm ET, Friday 9am - 7pm ET, and Saturday 10am - 6pm ET.
