Good for Omega 3 eval
Overall, Very good helpful information. I think some of the testing is probably more reliable than others given the finger stick method of sample collection. For me, the lipid levels and HgBA1c were seemingly more precise. Got an actual blood draw Vitamin D test at the same time from my Doctor, and the results were off by a substantial margin. The blood draw Lab value noted a healthy Vit D level, while the OmegaQuant value would suggest the need for supplementation. I can’t tell which one is more accurate, but the lack of precision isn’t helpful in monitoring my health care needs. Will probably stick to the Omega 3 & 6 values moving forward.

An easy way to gain valuable insight
The home test kit had very easy to follow instructions. The results came back faster than I anticipated; I had mine a week after OmegaQuant received my sample. And no I have insight about my omega levels which help me to make sure I am supplementing at the correct levels.

Why did I pay for expedited resuls?
I paid extra for expedited results and it took 2 weeks or more for them to return. What was the point of me paying an extra $20 when there was no rush whatsoever?

This is the third time I have tested…
This is the third time I have tested with omegaquant. Twice before in 2022 and then this time in February 2023. Now I am familiar with the kit, its so easy. Test results in two weeks, as promised. I am so happy to see that my trans fat has greatly improved over the past year. Also I see my omega index has changed substantially. I have not been eating as much fish this year, and it shows. This most recent test good reminder to get back on track with fish. I took advantage of a discount code that omegaquant notified me by email. In my opinion, the test is great value considering how important for my health. I am really really happy my trans fat is lower. It gives me peace of mind. I wish omega 6 to 3 ratio test was available locally (in Toronto Canada), but my doctor and my endocrinologist said it was not available. Finding omegaquant test by mail was heaven sent.

Fast, simple to use, professional results
I ordered 3 tests from Omegaquant: 1) the website was easy to order from 2) the tests arrived within 3 days 3) they were well packaged and appeared sterile 4) it was easy to create an account and register each test 5) the written and illustrated instructions were very clear 6) I received results for the first test within 5 days - content was detailed and included a color graph - a consult with a dietician was offered if I had questions Thus far my experience has been very positive. I highly recommend if you desire nutritional information not usually included in tests ordered by your physician.

Quick results!
Communication of when sample was received and when the results were available were very quick! (the only time this did not happen was when USPS lost my vitamin D test) I like to that the website shows past results so then you can compare and contrast as to how your levels are progressing. This is also way less expensive than what you would get charged in a medical lab.

Our Story
Dr. Bill Harris, a leading expert in omega-3 fatty acids, founded OmegaQuant in 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and did post-doctoral fellowships in Clinical Nutrition and Lipid Metabolism with Dr. Bill Connor at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
His interest in omega-3 fatty acids began with his postdoctoral work when he published his first study on the effects of salmon oil on serum lipids in humans (1980). Since that time he has been the recipient of five NIH grants for studies on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) on human health.
He has more than 350 publications relating to fatty acids, including omega-3s, in medical literature and was an author on two American Heart Association scientific statements on fatty acids: “Fish Consumption, Fish Oil, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease” (2002), and “Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease” (2009) both published in the journal Circulation.
Dr. Harris co-invented the Omega-3 Index in 2004 and made it commercially available to the research community and the public in 2009. To date, the Omega-3 Index has been used as the standard measure of omega-3 status in more than 200 clinical studies.
Dr. Harris is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota.
Dr. Harris moved on as OmegaQuant’s President in late 2020 to establish the Fatty Acid Research Institute (FARI), where he will go back to his roots of conducting research on fatty acids and health.
