This is regarding the Vitamin D test
This is regarding the Vitamin D test. My kit was rejected due to insufficient blood sample. The kit showed several circles and stated that they must be filled completely. The failure notice I received said that it must be one drop of blood that drips into the circle. This would not fill the circle. These are conflicting instructions.

Thank you for your input for Vitamin D sample collection instructions. This test requires three separate large drops of blood for accurate analysis. Our apologies for the confusion!

I messed up first test because blood…
I messed up first test because blood sample wasn’t large enough. Received second test free and it worked. This was a vit D test I liked the calculator on their website that tells how much supplementation needed to get to desired blood levels of vit d3. It would be nice to know how accurate this home test compares to a blood draw lab test.

About
OmegaQuant is an independent, CLIA-certified lab that offers nutritional & health status testing to researchers, clinicians and the public. We test:
- Omega-3 Index
- Vitamin D
- Prenatal DHA
- Mother's Milk DHA
Our goal is to offer the highest quality analytical services to researchers and to provide simple tests of nutritional status to consumers, with the ultimate purpose of advancing the science and use of nutrients to improve health.
Our Story
Dr. Bill Harris, a leading expert in omega-3 fatty acids, founded OmegaQuant in 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and did post-doctoral fellowships in Clinical Nutrition and Lipid Metabolism with Dr. Bill Connor at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
His interest in omega-3 fatty acids began with his postdoctoral work when he published his first study on the effects of salmon oil on serum lipids in humans (1980). Since that time he has been the recipient of five NIH grants for studies on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) on human health.
He has more than 350 publications relating to fatty acids, including omega-3s, in medical literature and was an author on two American Heart Association scientific statements on fatty acids: “Fish Consumption, Fish Oil, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease” (2002), and “Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease” (2009) both published in the journal Circulation.
Dr. Harris co-invented the Omega-3 Index in 2004 and made it commercially available to the research community and the public in 2009. To date, the Omega-3 Index has been used as the standard measure of omega-3 status in more than 200 clinical studies.
Dr. Harris is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota.
Dr. Harris moved on as OmegaQuant’s President in late 2020 to establish the Fatty Acid Research Institute (FARI), where he will go back to his roots of conducting research on fatty acids and health.
