Was happy that this man only took a few…
Was happy that this man only took a few minutes to fix what I had called in for two months ago. At that time I was on the phone for several hours that was the reason I hesitated to call back to have it fixed still don’t know how to use the scanner they make it very complicated and I have a degree in computer applications graduated the Top of my class!

Victor was really good
Victor was really good. It's the software I have trouble with. Bugs seem to pop up often with the software and it is time consuming to repetitively call tech support. That's why I am happy to be on the User Review group to help influence future software development. I've been using this for years and have invested a LOT of time in it. It needs to work, whether Mac or PC. I am a Mac user. Thank you.

While I was greatful the agent helped…the sales pitches are annoying
While I was greatful the agent helped me repair my issue quickly,I am disturbed that every time I call for assistance they try to “sell” me an upgraded yearly package. I don’t need anymore services that I subscribe to.im not a business and don’t use quick books. And after telling tje agents this,they STILL try and upgrade me. If I say it once,I wish they’d let it go.

I love the product that Neat Receipts…
I love the product that Neat Receipts offers, but when I need help it seems very problematic to get resolutions to my problem.

Average availability
Whenever I scan a number of documents, my scanner locks up on me and I have to close everything down. If you can explain why this happens, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been using NEAT for a number of years and since I upgraded to NC1000 I have had more problems.

scan worked well until i was forced to…
scan worked well until i was forced to upgrade to cloud service. then in effort fo charge me for what i had already purchased the software would not work at all. spent quite a long time with support in order to get back in service.

Overall, good concept. It all works consistently 70% of the time.
Customer service is great. The client software is buggy as Hell. Always has been, despite numerous revisions. The Desktop Scanner needs adjustment quite frequently, despite some instructions on accomplishing that. Such examples are paper feed issues, customizing dark or light preferences, disparities between online and offline versions of scanned data, etc. Would be nice to have a service center to do routine maintenance for a very reasonable fee. Otherwise, digitizing my paper world is awesome. I'm very happy with my decision to do that.

The Tech support person was well informed but...
The support tech was well informed and did a great job. My problem is with neat company itself. They have abandoned everyone who has purchased their scanner. Neat company is no longer producing or updating the software necessary to operate the scanner. They are instead going for the big money and forcing it's customers to subscribe to their online cloud services!! Tragic mistake! I have thrown my scanner in the trash since it is now completely useless. I spent good money for my ND-1000 and I can no longer use it. What a horrible company!!! To assume that every user wants to join a pay per month cloud service to scan receipts and automatically send them into QuickBooks or some other program is just plain defective thinking! I am a realtor and I need a doc scanner to convert paper into PDF files... as do many others I have spoken with about this crazy move!!! Good luck, but I am outta here! Done with Neat and their money scam cloud BS!!! Why on earth would anyone want to pay another $10 a month for the rest of their lives on top of the already pricey original purchase of the scanner!!??? Someone needs to be fired at neat!!!

Company support…

Your NEAT DESK Scanners Unreliable
Your NEAT DESK Scanners are not very reliable. I have had to return two of them recently because they do not do the job. The documents get stuck in them part way through. It's a common fault. Someone was supposed to send me instructions on how to use my smartphone to scan documents. I have not yet received that. That was over two weeks ago.

I contacted Neat to find out what I am receiving for the monthly payment of $6-instead of getting a call or an explanation I was directed to a web site. I would definitely prefer a more personal interaction.

Disappointed
My parts order went fine however that didn't fix my ND-1000 issue and you have no repair facilities. Paying $79.00 for tech service that doesn't mean they can fix it either so what is a person to do. Your company wouldn't even answer a letter I wrote. Guess home users are not as important as business folks

We are sorry to hear that the replacement part did not correct the issue with your scanner. Unfortunately, Neat has exited the hardware industry and we have never had a repair facility. Neat does not charge 79.00 for support. The offer that was made to you was for the Neat Cloud Software Subscription which you declined. Neat does offer a 1 year warranty on the scanners if purchased from an authorized retailer, but it does appear that your scanner is outside the warranty period. We will be having a technical support agent reach out to via phone to try to troubleshoot your reported issue, but please not that we cannot guarantee a resolution.

Used to love
Love the program, but was extremely dissatisfied with the fact that because i lost my original program disk, i am now forced to use the online program. I do not trust the cloud and i do not understand why i have to now pay monthly for the same service i had already purchased at a premium price when i initially purchased my NeatOffice. If i knew this ws going to happen, i would not have shelled-out the almost $1k to begin with. I give 3 stars becuase program is great, but i would give negative 3 stars for their lack of assistance in us longtime customers and gouging us for more money.

Updates and Improvements Needed
I feel the software form, fit and function needs to be updated after so many years. The text recognition needs to be improved. Lastly, the Neat Verify must be checked for correctness. You can't assume they've done it right.

Software does not combine files, and other issues
Software does not combine files. It will not show a full screen image without downloading. Also, thanks to the tech who assisted me, I was able to find a work around to save a business card to my contacts file; however, the software should have worked.This image was good in the preview and would only save 2/3's of the image upon saving. Still more work to be done, before 5 stars can be given.

My Response to Neats Response to my 1st email
The Representative that helped over the phone was great. I appreciate that he helped me resolve the issue I had but I am NOT happy that all of your services are for Cloud Customers Only. That is not fare to all of the clients that have your product and want to continue business with Neat that don’t want or use the cloud. Neat should support ALL aspects and issues that clients have with Neat products. Support All or you will continue losing more loyal clients. Your Response was these are some options and this is what is states in the link you attached to your response “Please keep in mind that the retired desktop software is not supported and the installation link for these versions are no longer available. We cannot guarantee the integrity of your data if you choose to continue to use a retired version of Neat.” What? No guarantee to the integrity of your Data if you use non cloud desk top “Retired” version?!!! That’s bull - - - - Support All aspects or you will lose loyalty.

Disappointment
I'm not happy with the direction the company has gone. The new cloud based model with monthly or annual subscription fees is a slap in the face for longtime personal users.
