All hype but nothing special sadly.
I ordered two long sleeve t-shirts from Free People. They were £38 each. I thought that this was expensive but loved the way they looked on the model on the website. I am disappointed with the purchase. I am going to wear the t-shirts as 'expensive' nightwear - the neck line is too high and uneven, and the cut is really strange and very unflattering. The t-shirt fabric is very soft but, I have lots of lovely 'old' clothes that have the same faded appearance and softness. I think that this brand is 'hype' but nothing to write home about. Disappointing.

Free people used to be a good company…
Free people used to be a good company with great customer service. I bought an item and returned it and it’s going to take over a month for them to process a refund. Very unhappy with their customer service and the way they handle returns. I will probably not ever order from them again.

Had my account restricted
Had my account restricted! I returned an order to them and the tracking showed very clearly that they'd received it. Three weeks went by and there was no sign of the refund and every time I called, I was fobbed off. In the end I had no choice but to claim through PayPal, and for that, they restricted my account. Unbelievable. I did absolutely nothing wrong, but was restricted due to their own failure to refund me. Customer service? Seriously??

Staff training needs to improve vastly…
Staff training needs to improve vastly at Cambridge store! Received no acknowledgment whatsoever until I asked to try something on, the assistant just wanted to know how many items I had and when I showed her she just repeated herself and checked I had two items. She then carried on her conversation with her colleague When I paid for my item (that I very nearly put back because of her rudeness) I was then being given the hard sell about how great my choice was & how popular it had been etc etc even though I had had zero advice or acknowledgment beforehand I have many Free people pieces & have been a loyal customer for years but this left me cold. Please improve this it’s very disappointing & disrespectful

Terrible customer experience
Terrible customer experience when trying to buy an eGift card as a present. Got "confirmed order" message after ordering online then nothing happened. Phoned them and it turns out you to buy card you have to 1. order it online, then 2. phone your bank to get an authorisation code, then 3. call Free People in US time to tell them the code. Lol, not much "e" about their "eGift" process

bought $500 boots for my gf that fell apart after 3 wears. Reached out to the company and their response was "So sorry but your complaint comes after 30 days of your purchase. There is nothing we can do". lol

Getting a refund is a real pain ...........
I returned an item, it was too big so I returned few days later, all with labels and original packaging. Took ages for them to agree it had been returned back, confirmed refund had been authorised but none has been forthcoming...... still waiting and chasing ! I would shop elsewhere unless you want this kind of nonsense if you need to return.........

Customer service non-existent
I just wanted to point out that the messages sent from Free People to customers who leave poor reviews on their website on items purchased because they're dissatisfied with the goods they receive, is an automatic computer generated message that is churned out ad nauseum to every single customer who makes a complaint. There's no such thing as a "team" of staff looking into problems with their clothing. They literally don't care if you're dissatisfied with your purchase or not. Trying to actually talk to a human being about issues with purchases, refunds or your account in general, is da***d near impossible. I lost access to my account with no explanation and haven't been able to purchase anything in well over a year. I tried to fix the issue with a barrage of emails to their non-existent "team", only to receive a barrage of emails back telling me they were sorry and working on the problem. No. Nobody was working on the problem. I love their clothing, but their customer service, especially for international customers, is absolutely appalling.

Do not shop here
Do not shop here, they sent me the wrong thing from another brand. Won't issue a refund and are making me pay to ship their mistake back to the US from Australia and have the audacity to tell me it'll take weeks to process a $500 refund.

Customer services appalling …
I can not voice enough how appalling this company is for providing a refund. I have provided proof of return 4 times and they continually come back with lame excuse such as they can’t open the link, can’t read the receipt…. It is such as shame as Free People have some lovely things but be warned if you need to return something. I certainly won’t be buying from them again

Here we go
I have used Freepeoole for years and it used to be a great company. Then suddenly not. I think and correct me if I’m wrong, they may have outsourced customer service globally?Because now, suddenly we have huge amounts of dialogue endless back and forth followed by zero resolution. My experience and theory leads me to believe that global call centres are powered cheaply from the fumes of bulls..t generated within the centre. This choice of customer service saves a company so much money, boosts profits but absolutely does nothing for the customer.Who no longer matters. That’s you and I folks.Mohamed kindly took the best part of an hour via chat to inform me that the”email team”would send me an email.(I’m still waiting) I quizzed him why he couldn’t just resolve the issue because it shouldn’t be very difficult but I think he was opting to generate more gas, thus benefiting the Company owners whilst being rewarded with nuts bolts and probably pebbles for wages in return. Anyway here’s hoping 🤞 A hundred quid sweatshirt arrived filthy and without return information or labels…. I’m concerned that this may take several lifetimes to resolve.

Awful!
Awful!! 2 of 8 pieces arrived on time and both were terrible quality. Front buttoned denim dress that fit perfectly unless I moved in which case all the buttons just popped open. £450 boots that had what looked like buckles to secure it but actually had pop button that would just pop off and a zip in the back of the boot that won’t go up or down. I have never in my life seen anything this expensive be such a pile of junk. The rest of the stuff is arriving late (once I have left this country) so I have to find someone to just return it.

I love freepeople but they could use…
I love freepeople but they could use some improvement. First off I hate that they use pitney bowes as a return carrier. Pitney is HORRIBLE. I've watched the tracking on my packages and don't understand how it goes from 1 location and will sit there for days until it moves, and sometimes the way it moves and what towns it goes to makes no sense. Wish freepeople would use a different carrier that was quicker/better. Also wish freepeople could notify you if an item you like is back in stock in the color/size you want, and if an item you heart goes on sale. That would be nice as I have wanted multiple items that sold out and I didn't know they were on sale/available. Also not happy some of their agents aren't that friendly. And I hate how long they take to process refunds and exchanges. Also, I waited for an exchange for weeks, just for them to cancel it on me.

Profiled while shopping
Worse experience shopping at Free People at the Galleria Mall Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I was probably the only brown woman in the store that was being profiled by customer service representatives and manager. I was not given the freedom to shop without someone interfering and when I picked the first item, the rep rushed to me as though I was going to walk out the store with their item. The experience was so uncomfortable that I purchased only one item and left. I called in to the store afterwards to speak with the manager and was left on hold for a long time. Called again and a rep took the complaint (but didn't transfer call to manager). What a joke!

They do not care about their customers at all. Stay away.

Get over yourself, FP!
I realized after FP’s several OOS products during flash sale that I did not buy enough to get the 20% off. Within 30 minutes I called back to add to my order and try for the promotion. I was denied. What????!!! Ridiculous. I will return it ALL and spend my money elsewhere.

Disappointing Experience: Login Issues and Unhelpful Customer Support
Struggled to log in due to not receiving the verification code via mobile or email, indicating a system error. Missed out on a discount that had expired during the login issues. Contacted support through Chat, but they couldn't help. Phone support dismissed my technical issue as unrelated to the sale. Frustrating experience; glad I didn't spend money on such unhelpful service..
