2 set of Lenses craze in 14 months. Poor quality not for sunny conditions.
Within 7 months my lenses started to craze. This is fine cracks in the acrylic. The company warranted it out and took about 3 to 4 weeks to get my replaced lenses back. In a follow up email they made sure to point out the warranty does not expend even though replaced with new and then provided a bold notification of warranty start date and end date. "Please note that the frame and lens warranties do not start over with the new order. Your warranty end dates are as follows: Frame - {5/5/2023 } Lens - {5/5/2023 }" Here it is 5 months after receiving new lenses and again they have crazed and I can't use them at night. It's obvious this company uses cheap materials and they seem to know this will happen as they Strictly show warranty end date when you you get new glasses back. The information given on return of repair said don't leave in car and use proper cleaning products which neither of these situations has occurred with these lenses. I only use glasses spacific microfiber and water to clean (same as my expensive sunglasses) and I bought transisition lenses because I work outside in sunny conditions and being as these tint for sunglasses style use they also should hold up to the suns uv rays. Interesting how I still have Coata and Oakley plastic lens sunglasses with 10 years plus use and their lenses are still clean and clear as the day purchased them as I take care with my items. Opinion POOR QUALITY LENSES I DO NOT RECOMMEND FRAMESDIRECT My reply to the explanation Framesdirect gave is this. Maybe it's the technique used to produce the optics for my frames as transition and progressive lenses? Because I have year old 10 dollar box store readers that are kept in my hot vehicle all of the time which have not Crazed due to "extreme conditions" you mention only top brands like Oakley provides.

We are owned by Essilor-Luxottica and only use the highest quality Essilor lenses. Essilor-Luxottica's portfolio includes globally respected lens brands such as Essilor, Varilux, Crizal, Eyezen, Stellest, Xperio, Transitions, Ray-Ban, Oakley and Barberini. I understand that you disagree with the warranty policy for crazing. We appreciate the feedback. This policy is an industry standard for most all optical stores, including many of Essilor-Luxottica other retailers, as well as competitors. All of Essilor-Luxottica optical stores provide the same care instructions for eyeglasses lenses regarding care, extreme temperatures, and using proper cleaning products. Frame and lens materials are mostly the same industry wide, except for some specialized lenses that you mentioned, like Costa or Oakley, our sister brands. Those are specialized lenses that are made to withstand harsh environments and truly extreme conditions. Unfortunately, regular lenses cannot be compared to Costa or Oakley specialized lenses. If you are looking for eyeglasses lenses that are Oakley brand lenses, I believe our sister store, Oakley, offers different options for authentic regular prescription lenses. I hope that helps. Order Processing Time
I placed an order on June 16th. The status has not changed from 'in-lab' since June 17. I ordered another pair from another retailer the same day and received them within three days. I called customer service and the attendant said it takes nine to thirteen BUSINESS days for order processing and my glasses would ship by July 5th. This is asinine! The attendant was courteous without being polite - which I found to be confusing. I would've ordered these from another retailer had I realized this unreasonable processing time. I also regrettably paid for expedited shipping. UPDATE: July 3, 2023 The order now says "In-Process - Backorder Ordered" A manager did, in-fact, call me. However, he was not able to offer any sort of resolution aside from canceling the entire order. He did offer to refund the expedited shipping. My question now, after over two weeks when the glasses were listed as "in-lab"; how is it now backordered? Never again. UPDATE July 7: They just canceled the order. Frames Direct is a horrible company to work with.

Average processing times for an RX frame and lens order is 10-12 business days plus your chosen shipping time, with some brands and RX's taking longer. A Customer Support agent will provide the most accurate ETA after the order is received, to take into account some of the variables. In your case, the ETA given was 9-13 business days. Avoid this rancid pile of garbage business
This business is a disaster of a dumpster fire. I ordered glasses three weeks ago. They certainly care about customer service when they send endless emails trying to upsell me, but it ends there. I got an email a week after I ordered saying my glasses would be delayed by up to two weeks. I got another email today saying my glasses would be delayed by at least four more weeks. Now we are talking an August delivery for an early June order. They simply don't care. I get form emails from someone who doesn't even bother to answer my phone calls or emails. I needed these by mid July for a reason. If I acted like these jokers did in my own job, I'd be fired. Avoid this train wreck of a business like the plague. I don't need an empty apology or any excuses or a defensive response trying to protect your own reputation. I just want what l paid you for sometime before I'm dead and buried. I either need my glasses or for you to do something to make this right. Only have a manager reach out to me if there is going to be a substantive resolution and not a "we're sorry sir, this is beyond our control." This is amateur hour. Order from anyone else other than these clowns if you want your glasses sometime before the Apocalypse. Worst service ever. Proposed solution is unacceptable. I lost three weeks waiting for these clowns and nobody else can fill my order in time.

My glasses are not real
My glasses were not real. They don’t look like the real frames, they even say UK on the inside of the frames and have a cut out heart on the arm. My lenses don’t even fit correctly into them. (I used the lenses from the real pair I had.) I spent $130 to be completely disappointed.

Incorrect glasses from Lab
Ordered new glasses on May 11, 2023. After receiving them on May 30th I noticed i could not see clearly out of them. I went directly to my optometrist and they put them in their machine to check the prescription that was ordered. It was extremely off so my doctors wrote out the corrections and marked the lenses to make the right corrections. I called frames direct and they gave me a RMA label to mail them back. I mailed them back on May 31, 2023. After numerous calls the lab did not even see the lines drawn on the glasses and could not understand my doctors instructions. I am worried now that they will never be correct. Beware on buying form this company if you need progresssive glasses. They are just guessing at the measurements. I will never again buy online. Pay the extra money and buy from your local optometrist's office to avoid the frustration. I am still waiting for my glasses to be delivered. Each time I call its a different date.

While we appreciate your comments, I do need to clarify some misinformation here. FramesDirect does not guess at measurements for progressives. We use a proprietary mathematical formula based on the height of the lens to determine the segment height, which will vary based on which frames you select. This formula has proven wildly successful for us, and since we began using it, we have had a lower return rate than the national average for progressives. Progressive lenses are one of our top selling lenses and only a very tiny percentage of orders out of the thousands and thousands of progressive lens orders we have fulfilled since offering progressive lenses starting in 1999 come back needing troubleshooting or changes made. I do want to clarify that our customer support representatives were correct regarding your package not having a signature requirement. I looked at your tracking and I do see that your UPS driver seemed to not want to leave it at your location, however, this was not due to anything on FramesDirect's side. The package label did not have a signature requirement. You can confirm this looking at your tracking details under the "Service" section. If a signature was required in order to deliver, it would say it when looking at the details. We did not add a signature requirement to this package. At times, at UPS's sole discretion, they may not want to leave a package at a certain place but this is not something the shipper can override. Glasses NO GOOD broke 5 times within 6 months
I ordered glasses in October 2022 not knowing the frame would Brake in the same place 5 time causing me To be inconvenienced with no glasses when i need them 24/7. This last time the arm was loose and they are refusing to rectify the issue . It has not been a year yet and i have had nothing but trouble with these glasses . BE WARNED if u buy glasses and have a issue they will find a way to back out of responsibility..ive been a loyal customer over 10 years , i will no longer support this company . This company is full of talk
This company is full of talk, but when the chips are down, they don't stand behind their product. I purchased glasses from Frames Direct in July 2022, and despite telling me that they'd be available in a couple of weeks, I didn't receive them until a month later, and when I did, it was the wrong frame size. when I called them on it, they told me they knew it was the wrong frame size, but the ones I ordered were on backorder and wouldn't be available until October. So we had to go through the whole ordeal of returning these frames, and waiting for the correct ones to get ordered. Eventually they came, and despite having an anti-scratch coating on the lenses, and despite their hold-music promises of guaranteeing their lenses for a year, they don't. I've had them for about 8 months now, and even though I've used only lens wipes to clean them, they've got little scratches not in the lens itself, but in the coating. They won't replace the lenses under their guarantee, which in my book makes them deceptive. I'll go elsewhere for glasses in the future, and you should too.

Frames were badly bent
Frames were badly bent. This is disconcerting considering they should be new and arrived in their case - are you peddling USED frames??? I've since returned them and am now awaiting a replacement. Should NEVER have happened!

Not very reliable on processing
Was told glasses would be ready in about 13 days. Called on day16 and was told 13 business days. Ok maybe a misunderstanding. I had to inquire again and now im being told a new date that will be 29 working days. I processed the order on 4/13/2023. I was told after I inquired that they would be shipped on 5/9/2023 on 5/10/2023 after no word on my order I checked again and now im being told they are in the Lab and should be ready 5/17/2023. They have already billed my credit card. If I had known it was going to take over a month to be shipped. I would have purchased elsewhere.

Hello, I do apologize for the delay regarding your Wiley X specialty sunglasses. Wiley X lenses are engineered and manufactured to the highest standard and processed on state of the art digital machinery. WX lenses offer sharper, crisper vision for better visual acuity and set the industry standard for toughness. These specialty glasses do take longer than a normal RX job as they are made directly at the Wiley X labs. I see that we provided an ETA of 13-18 business days on 4/13. The 18th business day would have been a couple of days ago 5/9. I have reviewed the comments on your order from Wiley X and it appears that this is Wiley X lab delay. They have provided a new ETA of 5/17 plus shipping time. I can understand that delays can be quite frustrating and we do apologize for this. We are in constant contact with Wiley X and their labs. Only a tiny percentage of our items we provide end up being on an extended backorder, but we certainly understand that unexpected delays are frustrating. FramesDirect.com does stock some, just not all items listed on our website. Most items are ordered and shipped to us directly from the frame brand manufacturer facility when you place your order with us. This is what keeps our prices low. Fatheadz, Inc has been experiencing significant production delays for some time that has caused global delays for their items. We are in close contact with them and they are doing as much as they can to get production caught up, but the delays are out of our control. Frustrating and Disappointing experience
Things went wrong from the beginning! Got an email saying the item I ordered was coming 3 weeks late (I also paid extra for tracking services). I requested to cancel the order as I found the same item at a cheaper price and quicker delivery on amazon. The customer representative reached out again saying its too late to cancel the order and there was a miscommunication on their part, the item was going to be delivered on time. The package was delivered with the WRONG ITEM! Now I have initiated a return, but I will be charged $9 for shipping, even though its not my fault they sent the wrong item! Waste of Time and Money.

customer service issues
Glasses arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the optical height is misaligned, and the frames were twisted. I reached out to customer service, who takes well over 24 hours to respond to each email and the responses are not helpful—like they don’t understand the questions. My first email finished with, "Please let me know what can I do to have these adjustments made." Their response, "So, do you want to send them back?" That's it. Nothing else. Which is when I came here to write this review. Ultimately, I plan to return the glasses instead of trying to exchange them. I would not purchase from FramesDirect again. UPDATE 8/5/2023: Herman (Supervisor - Customer Service/Returns) reached out to rectify the situation only because of this review. At first, he seemed helpful and I thought things would go well, so I started the exchange process. Then he started getting pushy about me changing my review before they would send a replacement, which I would not do, at least not before there was a resolution to the situation. That time is now — almost 5 months, and 3 requests to change my review later. Herman, this is for you: I still would not do business with FramesDirect. Pressuring customers to change their reviews because you don't like what it says is not how to get good reviews. Good customer service is. Thanks, Trustpilot, for having a service like this that protects consumers from fake reviews.

Hello KDF, I'm sorry that you are having issues with your eyewear and you felt that our responses have not been helpful. It appears there was a misunderstanding about our responses as we could not have started troubleshooting with you further at that point. I reviewed all communication between you and our agents and I see you did report you were having issues and had already received a return label. The agent let you know that a prepaid label was sent and you could send them back to us. We understood your comments about the lenses but we cannot troubleshoot until we get the glasses back because they need to be evaluated and the RX and segment height, and PD checked to confirm they were made correctly first. Once that is done, they can they start troubleshooting with you to determine what changes would need to be made for an exchange. The issue that you described is definitely something our Returns Team can handle. I hope that clarifies things. Waste of time and money!
I needed new glasses and thought of trying out Frames Direct.com browsing through their selection of frames and brands they carry, their prices were not that low, but I wanted to get a new style of Oakley frame which my go to vendor did not have in stock in the size I wanted. So I tried framesdirect.com and hoped for the best. Boy was I wrong. The next day, I received an email from them requesting to complete the order by sending a photo with a compact disc in front of my face for reference, so I did. The next day, I was notified the order was confirmed and that it would take up to 8-12 business days plus shipping to complete. I thought okey, that's about the norm. So they charged my card and my wait begins, but on the 12th business day I receive another email that there's a delay and that it would need another 8-12 business day to complete the order in a Georgia lab. I call framesdirect.com and a representative offered to give me a 10% off the price of the frame so I agree to wait again with them to follow up and have the order completed before 12 business days and shipped. So I call on the 10th day to get an update of my order and again, I am told "It's in the lab". They could not gurantee that it would be complete within 2 more days or 12 more days, but to just wait which I did for over a month. At this time, I am charged interest on the charge of the purchase price on my credit card and was not about to wait another 12 days, so enough of this delays, I requested a refund. I hope this refund does not take more than 12 business days or I am calling BBB or disputing the charge. Frames Direct needs to get their act together, their prices are not that great and the brands they are representing are not getting positive reviews their reputation deserves. Obviously these ratings are fake! I have dealt with this company two times, and each time it has been a catastrophe! not only did they screw up my order one time, but two times on two different orders. I am considering complaining to the BBB and any other agency that will listen. Total scammers, buyer beware.
