Scratches on Lenses just after 1 year.
Ordered a prescription lens for my frames and everything was great. But just after a year many scratches started to show up. I have worn glass for over 30 years and never had I had so many scratches on my lenses after just one year. My previous glasses lasted 10 years and barely had any scratches. The frame breaks before the lens scratches. I contacted them and they would NOT fix it short of purchasing new lenses. Terrible Warranty. NOT RECOMMENDED if you want your glasses to last.

Absolutely horrible experience with…
Absolutely horrible experience with this company. Ordered prescription glasses and had the optician reach out to my optometrist for the prescription. She told me the office was sending the prescription, but still asked ME for a copy. She got the prescription, but then didn't get a specific measurement she needed. She asked me to get the measurement myself. I explained that my optometrist had this measurement and asked her to call them to get it. She refused. I called and got it and asked her to proceed with my order. She then stated through an email she cancelled my order "per my request". BOLD FACED LIE. So many people are lazy and don't want to work. This woman was no exception. Don't waste your time. UPDATE: The company was quick to respond to my complaint and is apparently expediting my order but I have not received notice of shipment yet. Hopefully the product is better than the original service. To be continued.

Order N# 1541311 Order a RX prescription Glasses Carrera, After 7-8 months of use one of the arms broke, since it was under Manufacturing warranty, I asked for a replacement/repair. Got a call from CS stating that this damaged is not covered under warranty...Disappointing to say the least, specially since paid about $300 for a pair of glasses I was actually asked to pay $100 for the repair...unbelievable

Well they screwed it up again!
Second time I’ve ordered glasses from this company. Ordered them paid for them two days later they called me and said they hadn’t processed my order because I hadn’t paid for them. I explain to the lady I paid she then said oh I see you paid well what we can do now is will give you free expedited shipping. I said OK how soon can I get my glasses I believe it was 10 to 17 business days for a pair of very expensive sunglasses. This is the second time I’ve ordered from this company the first time they screwed it up made it right but it was a huge hassle. Now they’ve messed this one up to that’s all I want to do I said Bob give me my glasses as soon as you can man no worries sorry 10 to 17 business days. Customer service is just not good with his company I’m a 58 year old manAnd I’ve owned several businesses and never ever run a business like this I don’t know why people keep going back to these people. I guarantee you I will never buy another pair of sunglasses from this company no matter what I will do without before I order another pair of prescription sunglasses that I need from this company.

Wrong lens package
Ordered a pair of glasses when I received them I opened them up and they were the wrong lens package I ordered the thinner lens pack and they are definitely not thin by no means I have a very strong prescription I get that but for advertising they offer a “thin” lens package I paid a fairly hefty price for them you would think you could get what you actually ordered

Lenses are cheap and not scratch resistant!
Loved the glasses when I first received them but come to find out the lens quality is very poor. I've never owned a pair of glasses with lens so scratched up after just 6 months. Please trust me that what they call "scratch resistant" is a complete farce. I'm 53 years old and only use my glasses for work (office job). These "top quality" scratch resistant lenses can't even take being cleaned by a microfiber cloth. Frames direct warranty is clear. No help if the quality of their lenses are in question. No warranty for scratches they say. I assume this makes sense if you are rough with your glasses. Not the case here. First time using Framesdirect. Tough lesson, but I won't make the same mistake twice.

Changing terms of sales, after the fact...
After placing my order for over $600.00 for couple of frames, they sent me an email, that the stated return policy will not apply to my order.. There was absolutely no indication on their return policy that certain brand(s) or type or frames were excluded from their general return policy. Very poor service and totally unacceptable! Andy

Hello Andrew, Thank you for reporting this. It is definitely supposed to be on the website. We do list the return or cancellation stipulations of certain brands on our website. We list this information in the Returns Policy and also listed on the brand's page, for example, Savile Row has a similar return policy as the Silhouette sunglasses. It seems that this brand was just missed by accident. I informed the appropriate people and they are adding the information regarding the Silhouette sunglasses to the website with the other return/cancellation stipulations and it should be up soon. I do want to clarify that this is just for the sunglasses only. Silhouette does not allow returns on sunglasses. It will not be listed on the eyeglasses section. Thanks again for reporting this. I do see that you placed a second order but that order was cancelled and refunded in full on 08/18. I believe this is the order that you are referring to regarding the delay. 3 months of waiting, poor customer support.
I placed my order almost 3 months ago and I still haven't received anything. Tracking told me it had arrived in my country a couple of weeks ago but then shipped back to the sender. Customer support at FramesDirect told me I was wrong and that I should just keep waiting for the package. A week later I contacted the postal service here and they told me it had indeed been shipped back due to the package lacking customs declaration. When I told the FramesDirect support about this they once again told me to just wait. "IF" it arrives at their return hub in the EU they'll let me know. I feel it's likely my money is just gone at this point, much like my hopes of getting any real customer support. How are they fine with letting 3 months go by and then telling me to keep waiting?

Hello Anton, I'm sorry to hear that you have not received your merchandise yet. I want to clarify that the information you received from your optician did come directly from the carrier. I am in direct contact with all of our shipping carriers and do speak with the carrier's business support teams when questions such as this arise. We are only relaying the information that we were given. I have again reached out to our account manager for that carrier. I have asked him about the discrepancy. I will have a manager reach out to you as soon as I hear back. Our average ETA for international transit times is around 15 business days. This order shipped on July 12, 2021. It is getting close to two months, and that is a long time and it should definitely not take over 30 business days to deliver, but unfortunately, merchants are still seeing international shipping delays such as this due to COVID, short staffing for carriers, and delayed/full cargo flights for all items going overseas. Buyer Beware - Sold used, damaged sunglasses as new.
I strongly urge anyone reading this to think twice before purchasing any glasses from this company. Twice I bought non-prescription glasses without issue, other than the excessive delays. They pretty much say anything you order is on backorder. However, when I purchased my third pair ($300 Persol sunglasses), the glasses I received were visibly used. There were filthy fingerprints all over them, a loose bridge, old hardware. It looked like they had been cobbled together with parts that were laying around or something I would have purchased off Ebay for $50. They did not offer a refund or the option to replace them with actual new sunglasses, which is what I ordered. This company pulled a bait and switch and then stopped responding to my messages, leaving me out $300 and with old, used sunglasses. They are the absolute worst and I would give them zero stars if I could. Buyer beware!

Ridiculous Handling Time for Non Prescription Orders
If you want to wait a week before they even ship your order, by all means order from Framesdirect.com. They don’t even tell you about the handling time until AFTER you place your order, which was not appreciated. My order wasn’t even prescription. Still waiting for it to ship…. Reply to framesdirect: Oh you’re def covered on the fine print angle. I suppose it’s too much to ask for you to clearly state “4-6 days” processing time before I check out. When I look for a trustworthy vendor I value transparency. Instead you send an email after I’ve already placed the order. I actually purchased the upgraded UPS shipping which was a waste of money since I’ve just been informed the handling time was delayed another week. I actually work in e-commerce And am well aware of how those estimat s work and Shipping estimates have not been accurate recently- USPS especially has extended them to account for the recent delays. I’m downgrading my rating in light of your condescending reply.

Poor quality
In a one year the anti-reflective coating chips away. Since it was little over a year of warranty period, there is nothing I could do. Now the sunglasses are garbage.

Wish I had my glasses
I still don't have my glasses but writing this review anyway. Ordered glasses on 6/13 and still don't have them, paid for fast shipping and all... They tell me WileyX take a long time, nothing on their website mentioned this and I was only told this after they had my money! They are telling me it'll be late July that the glasses arrive to THEM, then they ship to me. This is total insanity and the single worst eyeglass shopping experience I've had in my 35+ years of buying glasses. Without something seriously changing I will not be a repeat customer.

My Burberry frame split in half.
My Burberry frame has a two year warranty, it split in half with only one year of wearing them. I am super cautious and careful with my glasses since I know how expensive they are. Sadly frames direct came to a conclusion that It was accidental damage, like if they know me or something. I been using glasses for over 25+ years, since I was 6 years old, so I think I know how to be careful and gentle with them. They won’t replace them, so I have to buy a new frame, even though I believe the frame was defective, since I got them the someter of them wasn’t the same. One side was higher than the other. Take your money else where.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with my glasses or service for my most recent June 2021 order. I was surprised because this wasn't my first order, and not even my first order of the year (also purchased in April 2021). April order (1548705 - FD) - whoever built those for me did a good job (thank you!). Glasses were in great shape, no over adjusting done on the frames, and original lenses were included. They were so perfect I decided to order a pair that had my bifocal prescription included. June order (1569161 - FD) - whoever built this June order did a very poor job. They were badly adjusted. The temples (arms of the glasses) were tweaked way out on both sides. They weren’t evenly adjusted, and were crooked. I took several photos. I couldn’t tell if they were over adjusted by the Optician or a return from someone whose head was too big for the frames or what. They were so wonky that they were returned (as requested by FramesDirect). Very disappointed because I was super excited to get them. The only difference between the April order and these were the size due to these needing the bifocals included. Same style, so I knew what should’ve been provided to me. Once I processed the exchange, then I had to ship, then had wait for them to be evaluated before I heard back that they would be replacing with a different pair. Replacement June order (157902 - FD) - got my replacement pair today, and whoever built these did a slightly better job than the original June order (at least they’re not crooked), but still not a good job. The temples (arms of the glasses) were still over adjusted, just not as bad as the original June order. Still no original lenses included. I was told that the temple (arms of the glasses) adjustment is the original adjustment of the frame, that the opticians don’t adjust them. Since all 3 pairs were completely different, I felt lied to. If they are really that different, you would think quality control would have caught that the frames weren’t right when they received them before the Optician even installed any lenses. Or that the Optician would have caught the difference before they installed the lenses. Or that quality control would have caught it before shipping to the customer. Note: I already contacted FramesDirect via email, so I'm not expecting a response here. Not sure if it's the pandemic, quality control, new hires that aren't trained properly, employees that are having a bad day (it happens), employees that don’t care (bummer), or what exactly the issue is; but I doubt I will order from FramesDirect again. Definitely can't recommend them to anyone, so unlike my original Excellent rating (with sunglasses and glasses), this experience has registered a Poor rating (for bifocal glasses).

Poor customer service.
Revised 7/28/21 after reading FD's reply. Let's just say, I learned an expensive lesson...am old enough/experienced enough to know better. FD is good at sales, very poor at customer service. Their reply writer is very good at writing persuasive essays, but not adequate at addressing customer service issues with a reasonable response. *Note to readers: Check BBB out of Austin for a more accurate review of FD.

Hello Nathan, I'm sorry to hear that you are dealing with a warranty issue and were not happy with the service received. I reviewed your order and I could not find any previous negative reviews. It is not possible for FramesDirect.com to remove a negative review such as this. Reviews can only be removed by the person who posted them or the review company (TrustPilot, BBB, Google, etc...) directly. I do see that you were upset about the Covid delays when you originally made this purchase back in 2020 but no negative review was posted. I regret that your order was originally affected by the pandemic. The cancellation, returns and exchange policies are listed on the website and there are times where a restocking fee would apply. All of our products, even the ones that go to the lab for prescription lenses (the lab is in New York) do go through a rigorous quality inspection before being shipped. FramesDirect.com is an online optical and does not have a brick and mortar location available for customers to shop at or walk into. The location in Austin is a shipping/distribution center for employees only. I do apologize that you are not able to go inside the location. You have already reached out to the Returns Department and I see that the Returns Department has responded by providing a prepaid label. I have not seen any additional delays or responses from the Returns Department that would indicate any issues with your warranty request. I give a 1-star rating because there is not a lower one to give. My experience with this company, and their service, is the worse have ever seen anywhere. Ordering a pair of prescription glasses the first time around: It took them 2 months to send me the glasses. The formula was incorrect, and I had to return them to get them fixed. It took the 6 weeks to send them back to me, and they had them wrong again! I sent the glasses back to them to get them fixed, and it took them 5 weeks to send them back to me, with the wrong prescription again!!! Called the customer service about this issue and they told me that they do not do refunds but they will be very "happy to fix them again" I gave up and had the glasses done at to some other lab. They did a wonderful job and no delays. Few months later, the frame just had one of the legs come out. I called Frames direct about the warranty, and they told me to send them the broken frame for a replacement since warranty was still on. It took the 10 weeks to get the frame back to me. During those 10 weeks, they lost the prescription glasses I had done at the other lab. This people should be doing some other type of business. This is, by far, the worse of the worse. Do not waste your money and time, do not get lure by their "lower prices" Customer service and situation handling are the worse you can ever experience. Save yourself the trouble and headache and go somewhere else where you could be valued as a customer!

Terrible customer service and poor quality
After paying $300 plus for a pair of eyeglasses I waited like a month then I got them and they were defective. They didn't polish the edges as requested and paid for and they didn't fit the lenses to fit the frame properly but rather jammed them in. Will never use them again almost two months now and I still don't have my eyeglasses. Stay Away
