Horrible experience!
Horrible experience!! I ordered a pair of Prada frames that I had tried on at my Doctor's office. I placed my order on January 31st, 2023 and was told that shipping would be in about 7-10 business days from the date of order. I waited the allotted time and called when I noticed it was after the 10 days and I had not heard anything. When I checked online my order said the glass were still "in Lab" The first representative told me that they were still working on them since I had a progressive prescription that needed to me made. Fast forward, after several phone calls and emails coming from me inquiring about my order, I never received any answer other than they were still in "the Lab" I actually even had a response on one Friday call that they were shipping out the following Monday, well they never did. I finally emailed and cancelled on March 30th, the response I got was that they would have to see where the order was in the process. After 2 days the cancellation was approved and funds returned, which makes me believe they were giving me the run around the whole time and they they never had the frames in house. Very Disappointing experience!

Did not receive refund after cancellation
From what is advertised, I thought for sure I would be leaving a 5 star review. I paid for expedited service (desperately needed as I lost my glasses and had to heavily rely on contacts 24/7 for weeks 🥴). My order processing time took much longer than advertised. The order went from in lab to back ordered for 3 more weeks. I immediately requested a cancellation, was verbally told of a refund and that I would get a email confirmation. Days went by without receiving that email confirmation and I was immediately skeptical. Now the item has been cancelled for 10 days and still no refund.

Stay away at all cost
Stay away at all cost. I placed an order March of 2023 for over $600 worth of frames; it went through successfully. 2 days later I received an email from Frames direct indicating that my order was cancelled! Why, you ask: because in 2019 I purchased a frame from Frames direct and had to return them, which I had the right to do, based on their return policy, but, apparently, once you conduct a return that they are not happy with, they actually put your information on a “blacklist” and you can never order from them ever again. I’ve never in my life heard of anything like this?!?!? Petty?, childish?, unprofessionnal? “Blacklist - really?!?!?! Yes, all of this and more! Stay away. There are many more reputable online frame shops that you can purchase from. Hope this helps! 😳 My Update March 15, 2023 in response to Frame Directs (Leslie's) reply to my review from 3/11/23: So Frames Direct responded back to my initial review - stating that I had been placed on a blacklist because I threatened to start a chargeback, which means a dispute with my creditor or form of payment and the reason I was forced to state this was that it was a month into my request for a refund and I was getting no where with Frames direct customer support - until, I stood up and said "this is what I am going to be forced to do, if I do not get my refund processed." And that's the whole story. In any case, I would like to advise buyers that Frames direct did me a favor; I actually found the same frames for almost 1/2 the price on another website. I placed my order and they were delivered today - so they actually saved me money! I saved over $300.00 for the same frames that I initially ordered with Frames Direct. Thank you Frames Direct. You've taught me that shopping around for the best price is a "real" thing :)

Everything went wrong. They couldn't accommodate my first 3 choices. I should have taken the red flag for what it was. Now getting a refund has been a nightmare. it's been well over a month and no refund and no glasses when the expectation that the website sets for no prescription is under 2 weeks. more like 1 week. Edit. they seem to just respond with nonsense to everyone to make them look competent. Since there is no way to respond I guess I'll edit. Don't trust them about doing anything right or actually processing a refund. You'll have to do a chargeback if you want your money back. AVOID AVOID AVOID Update. They have still not sent my order

I do see that you originally ordered a Police model item, but you requested to exchange to an Oakley model frame with the same lens package. I do not see that we required you to choose a different model. I looks as though you requested this on your own on the day you placed the order. We certainly could have accommodated the Police item you originally chose as it was available. We exchanged your item to your preferred Oakley item with the same lens package, and your package delivered to your address via DHL on February, 22 2023. I see that you are saying you did not receive that package. I show that we are already working with you regarding your claim of not receiving the package. We began the investigation on the day you reported the issue and the official lost package claim was opened by the carrier on 3/2. I'm sorry, missing package claims and investigations do take time as tracking does show this was delivered to you. I will have a manager contact you regarding your missing package claim. Plastic Components DISINTEGRATED After 3 Years
The plastic ear bows of an expensive pair of eyeglasses disintegrated, literally pieces have delaminated, fallen off and left exposed a serrated bare metal support frame. I’ve worn eyeglasses for 60 years and have never had this problem. I contacted Customer Support, sent them a photo of the jagged metal exposed frame on the ear bows and while the eyeglasses are only warrantied for one year, they were not at all helpful in providing a discount for future purchases. I’ve done almost $1,000 of business with Frames Direct and now will not recommend them to anyone. Had I known the glasses would basically self-destruct after 3 years, I never would have done business with them.

Hello Bryan, I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with your Oakley eyeglasses that were purchased in October of 2019. Oakley's frames are high performance eyewear and are very durable but they are not indestructible. Over time, they will still wear down. There is a life expectancy for all eyeglasses frames and the warranty time frame that Oakley provides of 2 years (not 1 year) is based on that life expectancy. Most eyeglasses manufacturers provide a 1 year warranty, but Oakley's frames will last longer than other brands, so Oakley warranties them for 2 years. They are expected to last 2 years in high performance conditions, but can last longer. They are expected to hold up to environmental factors within the warranty period, but once outside of that it is normal to begin to see wear and tear issues, especially if they are still used in high performance and harsh situations/conditions. I am sorry that we are not able to assist you with replacing this frame or provide additional discounts to you other than the ones already available on our website. We appreciate the feedback. This order is for your purchase of Ray-Ban sunglasses, just general sugnlasses. You did not order or pay for prescription lenses for this sunglasses order. Did you mean to purchase prescritption sunglasses instead? If so, we can certainly help you with correcting that error! Or, are you possibly talking about a different order? I checked your purchase history and did find a previous order for you that was for RX eyeglasses (Randolph Engineering eyeglasses), but this order is older, from the end of last year and I don't see that you contacted us about any issues with those RX eyeglasses. Used, scratched pair of prescription Ray Bans sold as "New"
Bought a "new" pair of prescription Ray Ban glasses which arrived with several scratches on the frame, clearly used. Offered a $50 discount. Embarassing customer service, I'm astonished I was offered $50 discount for frames that were clearly used, and sold as new.

I believe you may be confused on processing time versus shipping time. Contact lens processing time is an estimated 2-5 business days, plus your chosen ship method. Choosing a faster shipping method, as you did, does not change the processing time of the item you chose to purchase. It only shortens the shipping transit time once the item ships. I reviewed your most recent order and I see that you placed the order on 2/6 and the order was processed and shipped by 2/9, within 3 business days. Lenses continually cracking!
I have had to send in the glasses two times already and now after I just got them back 3 weeks ago, the lenses are cracking again like the other 2 times. Except this time they are not going to fix them since the warranty has expired, yet it has been an ongoing issue with the lenses since the beginning. Beware if you buy here. I understand that the warranty has expired, but yet the same issue occurred 3 times after the new lenses were sent. So, the initial problem has not been taken care of.

Terrible Customer Service
I placed an order for a new pair of sunglasses for my wife for Valentines day. I was told the order was going to be delayed as it was on backorder and then received an email stating the order was canceled. Then it was determined after I was told it was canceled that they are not cancelling as they found them in stock 3 days later. I paid for next day air and that was Friday...It is Tuesday and they are not here nor even on the way? The customer service denied all of the above until I sent them copies of the emails they sent me. They then said we are sorry, they sent you the wrong email? Now they want make it right and will not refund the next day air shipping and I haven't received the sunglasses for my wife yet. No refund, no sunglasses, no NDA shipping refund, and I had a ship date showing arrival 2 days before valentines...smh, you can gamble with them if you want but I won't do it again... In response to the follow up, I checked the shipping as soon as I received the comments and the product is at the UPS sorting facility and not showingout for delivery. When I was told the order was canceled originally, I looked for an alternate supplier in which I found 2 that offered the same item and they would arrive within the needed time frame. Due to the refund not being processed I did not want to be liable for a duplicate item charge. After sitting in my cart at those locations for 3 days I received an email stating my order was not canceled. At this point it was too late to place another order and receive it in time. It's 4:20 pm and they are not out for delivery. I'm not sure what I supposedly misunderstood but the emails I have were clear.

After reading through all communication between you and our staff, it appears that you may be confused regarding our processing times and shipping times. Average processing times for a non RX sunglasses item like you purchased is 3 - 6 Business Days plus your chosen shipping time. Choosing a faster shipping method such as the $17.95 Express shipping method does not change the order processing time. It only shortens the shipping transit time after order processing time. There is no way to expedite the processing time. Processing times and shipping times are provided on the website here and are also listed at the checkout page: https://www.framesdirect.com/include/information/shipping_options.aspx Your order was actually completed much earlier than the average processing times listed on our website. You placed this order on Friday, February 10th. A shipping label was created on Saturday, 2/11 and UPS picked up the package on 2/13, which was the next business day. There has not been any delay and it shipped the next business day from the date of order. It is currently in transit to you. I checked your tracking # and the estimated delivery date from UPS states Today, February 14 by 7:00 P.M. I do understand that there was some information given to you by one of our agents. I am sorry about that and this is being handled internally. I see that the Customer Support Manager has already offered to refund the express shipping if the package does not deliver today. Due to the misinformation provided, I went ahead and refunded the shipping amount of $17.95. He will be in contact with you as soon as possible regarding confirmation of the refund. Buyer beware! Damaged return a sham! Dep
Despite advertising damaged returns have waived return shipping charges, Framesdirect seems to override what customers and other optometrists deem as damaged & charge customers $9 return shipping. What a racket!! Imagine the profit for $9 with each returned pair of glasses!!! WOW!!!

This return label fee is not a profit. This is the charge to use the prepaid return label provided to you to return the merchandise. All returned items are evaluated and if there are any warranty issues, a prepaid label fee is not charged. In reviewing your order, I see that it was confirmed that the item returned was not damaged and did not have any warranty issues. I confirmed this with our Department Manager who personally evaluated the returned item. I see you disagreed with this. Because of this, on 2/8, you were advised that we would waive the $9 prepaid label fee as a one time courtesy. Wrong frames, Wrong Prescription, Took over 2 months to deliver...
The order took 2 months to process... Then once the frames arrived they are completely different to what I bought visually... Then the prescription in one lens is wrong! I have ordered the same frames 4 years in a row. I will never use them again. Update 1: It's been 6 days with no further correspondence on the issue. Update 2: 9 days later and I'm being told that they don't refund shipping. I suggest the Frames direct team re-read Consumer Contracts Regulations. They have to refund the shipping amount!

Waste of my time.
Waste of my time. Took an hour finding the sports gogglebi wanted. Put in prescription numbers and placed the order. Then I got an email from their customer service that I need to upload a photo of a physical optometrist prescription. I had a photo if the prescription that has all the info (the numbers, my name, doctor's name) and just had the date of exam cut off. I specified in the Email response the date of the exam, but they. Rejected the photo as a valid prescription. Since I couldn't find the physical copy of the prescription, I had to cancel the order. Extremely irritated by the experience. Waste of my time.

Disappointed
I have loved using frames direct for both my prescription eyeglasses and "sunglasses". I have a severe astigmatism that requires a difficult lens, in the past with frames direct I could order eyeglass frames with a dark tint eyeglass lens made to the specs of my prescription to use as sunglasses as no available prescription sunglasses lenses could be made to my prescription. However today I learned when trying to order a new pair, that FramesDirect no longer offers tinted lenses in eyeglasses, (now they only offer transitions lenses which automatically darken when subjected to uv light, this is great and I've had them but automotive windshields use a UV filtering glass so if you wear transitions lenses while driving, they don't darken very much at all). I'm disappointed and I guess I will have to shop elsewhere from now on. It's unfortunate, as until now FramesDirect was great.

I see that the last time we made tinted lenses for you was in 2018, but we have made you glasses with the Transitions lenses (that darken in the sunlight) more recently. Poor attention to detail, slow service, and unresponsive
Glasses and medical information were sent to a different customer (I received that customer's products). When I reached out to FramesDirect, the responses from customer service reps were slow and unacceptably free of information. Fast forward another month, and my glasses are still "in process" despite being given a 7 business day turnaround time. When I contacted customer service via voicemail and email, I did not receive a response. In summary: Poor attention to detail, slow service, and unresponsive.

Terrible customer service- they dont care
I ordered a pair of Gucci Frames on December 30th, 2022. Initially, the process was going smoothly but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse and I am disappointed in the way Frames Direct has handled the issue. I paid additional for next-day shipping because I needed my frames urgently. My Glasses were shipped on January 14th and were to be delivered on January 16th. Unfortunately UPS did not deliver my order because they said that the location was vacant, however, I live in a housing community of over 300 different apartment homes, and packages are delivered directly to the leasing office all day, so that didn't make sense. I made multiple attempts to call UPS to figure out what happened with my package and was eventually notified that I could pick my package up that night. I acted urgently because the tracking information said my package was being returned to sender, and I was trying my best to avoid that issue. When I arrived at UPS I was told that my package was already locked up in the trailer for the night to ship out and that I could not retrieve it. They advised me to contact the shipper and have them reroute the address.. as you can imagine at this point I am very frustrated and looked to Frames Direct for assistance with the issue. Let it be known that they state in their confirmation email that once a package is delivered it is no longer their responsibility, but until a package is successfully delivered, it IS their responsibility. I reached out to my point of contact at Frames Direct, "D" (for privacy sake) who initially emailed me when I placed my order. I sent her an email immediately explaining the issue and requesting that they reroute the address. I got an automated response that she was out of the office but that her email would be monitored. I set an alarm to wake up at 5am PST so I could speak to a representative at 7am CT when they open, in hopes to get assistance. When I called, I was told by the representative that she was just an operator and that she wasn't sure when the department that could update my shipping info would be in, but she would "note the account". I understood and called a few hours later. I was told something similar.. they hadn't responded yet. Let it be known that nobody returned my call, I had to call multiple times. By this time I figured it was too late to reroute my order and accepted that my order would need to be shipped back out once they received it. The representative stated that they would for sure make sure I get the next day air I purchased and that they would ship it out as soon as they received it. I also received a call from "D" when she was back in the office apologizing for all the run-around and she said as soon as the order is received they will send it back out. The tracking information showed that It was delivered back to McDonough, Gerogia on Thursday, January 19th. At this point, my only concern was to make sure it was shipped out quickly with the next-day air I purchased initially, so on the same day, January 19th, I sent an email to D inquiring about the ETA of my frames. She responded on the 20th saying "Unfortunately, due to the process, it will take 8-11 business days for another pair to be delivered. I will have to restart the order". I called D because I knew that had to be a mistake, it didn't make any sense. Why couldn't they just re-send my glasses? She told me that that is just their process- they don't resend out orders, they start from scratch- something having to do with the manufacturer process. I requested to speak to her supervisor and received a call from a gentleman - "C". He advised the same thing and was extremely condescending to me. I could tell he was irritated that he had to even deal with the issue, and instead of the typical understanding customer service response you would expect, he was snarky and sassy and not helpful at all. He advised that his manager, would be of no help to me and would say the same thing. This is why I decided to leave a review. Maybe someone who could be helpful will see, but at this point, have no faith. To make matters worse, I had to continuously follow up with D for days inquiring about the status of my new order. Jan 20th - Inquired about the status of my new order, and was advised by D that she wasn't informed the order had started and would let me know when it was. Jan 23rd- Inquired again, and advised the same. My order finally "shipped" today, the 24th. The UPS issue wasn't a fault of Frames Direct, but they handled everything else poorly. Not once did anyone even try to rectify the situation or even expedite my new order, instead, I still had to reach out constantly, and was treated like more of a nuisance than anything else. In the future, I will not order from Frames Direct. Their business model sucks, and they really don't care about customer service.

I do understand that you disagree with the information that was already provided to you, however, it is correct that FramesDirect could not re-route that return to sender package. The information UPS provided you is not correct. Your merchandise came directly from the Luxottica manufacturer in Georgia. FramesDirect is located in Texas. The returned package goes directly back to the manufacturer and shipper. The manufacturer cannot reship any return to sender packages for our company. We definitely understand that it is our responsibility to get the merchandise to you, but unfortunately, reshipping the returned package as you requested was not an option as the return does not come to us and the manufacturer does not give us an option to do this. Our only options were the ones that were provided to you, which was a full refund or a replacement order. I understand that you are not happy with those options or the service you received and so I will have the Operations Manager look into this right away to re-evaluate this issue. I reviewed this order and the previous two orders you placed with us and you did purchase a smaller size pair of glasses on this order versus the previous two purchases. It's OK though! FramesDirect.com does have an easy returns and exchange process if the most recent pair sizing is not a good fit for you.
