the company let old customers down by stopping support of older systems in an attempt to force them to buy into the expensive cloud based system.

The Neat application has issues the…
The Neat application has issues the company will not diagnose or repair. They refuse to provide technical support. What they call technical support is someone uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Eventually you will have the same issue and have to uninstall and reinstall the application over and over again. I'm looking for a better scanning tax program. There are many out there. Cheers The response below is made up of false information. I have an error code and log files that were never researched or resolved and still have the same issue. I spoke to what I would call a customer service representative who would not escalate the issue for resolution.

We see your received technical support from a Neat representative on 04/06/18 and you had questions regarding scanning documents, and where to locate them once they have processed. The case notes indicate a representative provided you with remote support address your scanner issue and we gave you a call to clarify your questions. We are sorry you feel Neat did not provide adequate support. If you have any additional questions, we are certainly available to address them. By the way, Neat also has has a cloud-service where there is no need to uninstall/reinstall the software, and you can access your data from any device! Let us know if you would like us to reach back out to you.

I emailed twice that the link given to me didn't work. I got no response from either email. That is why the low rating. I still have a scanner that I have never used and still cannot use.

Person on the phone was nice but what…
Person on the phone was nice but what she said to do doesn't work. If you buy a product and don't pay for upgrades they disable your software and render the device unusable. I only used my Neat to make occasional PDFs from paper. I didn't buy it to have to use an online service to keep track of receipts. Caveat Emptor...

It appears we could have done a better job at directing you to the options available to you. There were two emails sent to you, the first email contains the download for the retired Neat software. To clear up any confusion, you can still used your Neat scanner without using the Neat software by accessing the Image Capture utility on your Mac and follow the prompts in this article: https://support.neat.com/helpcenter/retired-desktop-software-options/

You stated the existing users could…
You stated the existing users could continue using their Neat scanner without subscribing to the new program. However, my Neat unit stopped working 3 weeks ago and I have not be able to get it working. First I was asked to upgrade to the new program, then I received notices stating that I needed to upgrade to v5.7.1.474 but all downloads have been removed from the internet. I've been using the Neat scanner for my receipts for over 2.5 years and not I cannot access my data. That's very unprofessional from your company and I would not recommend your product to anyone. Your support is not acceptable.

When I tried to open my Neat scanner
When I tried to open my Neat scanner, I found I had to log in. I do NOT need any access to a cloud function. All I want to do is scan documents and retain them on my PC. How can I do that without a subscription?

I was sold an out-of-date scanner and when we finally figured it out, my computer was on the brink of a catastrophe!

Lori, I apologize that you are having difficulties with your scanner. Based on review of your case history it appears that your reported scanner has not been sold by the Neat Company for over 8 years and has been discontinued and is not in circulation by any authorized retailer and is also no longer supported by the Neat Company or any of today's operating systems If you purchased this item recently, we would suggest that you contact the vendor from you which purchased to discuss replacement or refund options.

Additionally, it does appear that your recent case that you created you did not provide a phone number. We did reply to your inquiry and love to answer any questions you may have regarding the product. However, it does not appear that we received a response. Depending on your email server, it is very possible that our response may have ended up in the junk or spam folder.

I never received the document I was…
I never received the document I was trying to retain therefore I could not do my taxes. I had no clue after purchasing the machine twice I would be charged a monthly fee if so I would not have purchased it. There are too many free apps on the phone and ipad. Neat Receipts Sucks!

I asked about your old software to find out that it is no longer supported. I can understand that but you should be able to download it Still. Not interested in your monthly subscription your cloud service it does not meet my needs I have switched to someone else Don't reply to this email and remove me from all your email list

I dealt with two different people
I dealt with two different people. Neither gave me a solution to my issue. I have problems with the fact that they are abandoning customers that do not want their information in the Cloud. I do not want to have to be online every time I want to use my Neat products!

Horrible!
Horrible, Cannot change my plan myself and wanted to take my credit card over the phone. Product is much worse than before. I will not be renewing my cloud license.

Not a trust worthy company
Not a trust worthy company. Greed has taken over. Bought neat under original subscription.They changed it and did not adequately notify all their customers. As a result I am now being asked to pay again for a service I already paid for. Had they done that I would have dropped them then and there. No use for them.

You failed to give me access tp my equipment that was supposed to be stand alone meaning not needing a monthly contract to use it. Im out 400 dollars. You should all be very proud of yourself , taking an 80 year old man to the cleaners . More commenly known as stealing. Have a nice day.
