Finger print scanner dosnt work
Finger print scanner dosnt work. Have used every finger and thumb. Seems to accept my print as the two administrative prints (goes through the five programming sequences) but then the scanner won’t work to open the safe or allow me to program any additional prints since it won’t accept my programed fingers. Seems well built and holds my HK 40 cal nicely but pretty disappointed in the scanner.

The biometric scanner on the SL20i is incredibly reliable and accurate, but depending on certain anatomical information, some users find that different fingers may program better than others. Move on to another safe!
Move on to another safe. If operating at full capacity with the emergency Bluetooth button not only it draines the battery immediately, but the button does not work most of the time, has to be re-programmed. In case of emergency, you’re dead. No time to enter codes... I got the high capacity battery too, not much difference. I almost got one more VAULTEK for the range. Changed my mind and got something else, very happy with my decision. BTW Vaultek wrote me and wanted to send me another Bluetooth button which they never did. But I don’t think that’s the problem anyway.

Not working it.

Coating on LED numbers are peeling OFF!!
Have the Bio 20 Series for about a year and the coating on the LED numbers is peeling off! WHAAAAAT?

battery life is very short
I just bought this upgraded battery. I charged it for 36 hrs to make sure that it was completely charged. In less than 3 weeks it is nearly dead. I love the vaultek safe. But the batteries are no good. This is the second time I’ve replaced the battery. Vaultek was very good about sending me a quick replacement for the original free of charge. But it was the same result. It just doesn’t hold up.

Not what I was expecting
Some parts are cheaply made (the little rubber tubes cut to go over the springs on the hinges that fall off quite often). The battery needs to be charged often making it cumbersome. Had some difficulties programming. Don’t think I’d buy this again if I had the chance

Broken Into With a FORK!!!
The day after I received my Safe, I watched a video of someone opening the safe with a fork. I am greatly disappointed in this vulnerability and have not placed the Vaultek Safe into service because of it.

Hi Glen! We completely understand your concerns, and appreciate you reaching out to us. The fix is in place for all new units manufactured after 2020, and any existing LifePod customers also have an upgrade available. It's important to note that the published findings are from a professional with the time, tech knowledge, and understanding of the product functions and program button location. While possible, what's published would be difficult for the average person. While the immediate threat is considered low, we have built upgrade kits for existing LifePod customers. The upgrade kit comprises of a protective shield that covers the program button, and only allows access to the program functions when the lid is open. All LifePods manufactured in 2020, and beyond, feature upgraded firmware that disable the "PROGRAM BUTTON" when the locking mechanism is engaged. Based on your purchase date, this vulnerability has been completely resolved. We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Vaultek.

Product is excellent but customer…
Product is excellent but customer service and shipping failed miserably. Purchased for trip and could not use product due to defect. Took over 3 weeks to correct the issue and repair parts arrived the afternoon after I left for trip in which the product was purchased for.

The locking mechanism needs to be 2 not…
The locking mechanism needs to be 2 not 1, it’s more secure having it on both sides. The one lock in the middle is not secure enough, it can easily be forced open.

They don't stand behind their sales
So once out of warranty you are out of luck if it breaks (and it will) you can't even pay for a replacement biometric reader or pay for out of warranty repair. Short sighted and business limiting. If I can't fix it I won't buy product again. I'm just one customer but when others realize it can't be repaired after a few years you will lose them too. Very disappointed with this company....was a good safe, when it worked From their customer support, sorry, not sorry.... Thank you for providing the requested information! Unfortunately, the warranty on your safe has expired and we no longer have the repair parts from that particular production run. Later production runs of your safe utilized different electronic parts and not all parts are compatible with other production runs. Even without power, your safe it will continue to work mechanically with the physical key. If we can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Only fits small guns.
I bought this as an option for a couple of my most commonly accessed guns. A sig M18 with a browser solutions lower w/magwell and a staccato XL. Both guns run a flashlights. Neither gun fit in the lifepod XT2i. This safe is made for small guns despite the fact the m18 is considered a “carry” gun. I wanted to get one of their slider safes as well but my current configuration they too won’t fit that safe. Very disappointed. On the positive note the craftsmanship looks quite nice.

Gun barely fits.
Its supposed to hold a full size pistol, I have a S&W PERFORMANCE CENTER® M&P®9 M2.0 COMPETITOR. Its such a snug fit you have to ever so carefully put it in and finagle it so that it will close. If there was ever an emergency situation you would not be able to quickly and quietly pull out the pistol

Don't count on your fingerprint in an emergency
I have had the Rs500-i for many months now. The compact design is great and the add-on item selection is nice. The fingerprint reader is TERRIBLE. I can guarantee that if I have not opened my safe in a week and try to use the fingerprint reader- it will continuously fail out and lock into tamper mode. Not very good when one might need access quite quickly. KEEP YOUR KEY CLOSE BY!! I have performed multiple clear and reset of fingerprints as directed on the FAQ to no avail. If I am needing a key, I question why I spent a premium for this safe??
