Shady Bank
My business account was suddenly closed without warning with vague details as to the nature of the cause. No instructions or timeline were given for the return of my funds. They're acting very much like a fraudulent scam entity from another country. According to other reviews, the BBB, etc., this is a common problem. I would not recommend banking with them.

Was turned away from this bank for no…
Was turned away from this bank for no apparent reason and when I went to support for guidance on the matter and how I can liken my chances moving forward, meaning, what else I can provide to prove my business' credibility, I was given blanket answers copy and pasted from their emails, my questions were disregarded and then I was told altogether that I would never be accepted by their bank...All this because I simply came with questions...Terrible customer service.

Bad for complex banking
Grasshopper is really good for basic banking needs but the bank is unprepared for medium to large complex business needs. My account was frozen during a critical wire transfer. It took 2 days and 5 hours on the phone with customer support to complete. I will be closing my business account and going to a more established bank.

Wonderful Customer Service!
Coming from a larger bank the customer service is outstanding! At my old bank, I was treated quite poorly and had bad interactions with customer service. They would not listen to me, made me jump through endless hoops, and never respected my time. As a small business owner this was super frustrating. Grasshopper has been the complete opposite. They listen to me, are prompt in their delivery and emails and have been nothing but a pleasure to work with.

Easy Setup, but Issues
The setup for my business account was quite simple and the customer support response time is excellent. However, the website leaves a bit to be desired. I am fairly computer literate, but it is just not intuitive especially when trying to open a subaccount. I actually gave up trying and will just use my single account while I decide whether or not to stay with Grasshopper. Also, the time it takes for funds to show up in the account is unreasonable in this day and age. I understand Grasshopper is trying to protect itself, but 5 days for a mobile deposit is ridiculous.

Online documentation is terrible and…
Online documentation is terrible and difficult to find. There seems to be almost no help content. I MUCH prefer to help myself rather than contact support- it's always faster. Example- I could not find instructions for connecting Venmo. I found a couple of cryptic paragraphs hidden in a FAQ doc, but there were no actual instructions for doing it. When I did contact support by phone, the call was answered quickly by a native English speaker who walked me through the setup. Your great phone support may have prevented me from opening an account elsewhere.

They closed our bank account for No reason and keep our money for about a month until we got the FDIC involved. Shady bank over $100,000 would have been stolen from them

Larry deserves a raise!
I am trying to get my new business started, finalize an SBA loan (through a different bank), satisfy franchise requirements, and a list of other things. There was one day specifically, when I had to call your bank numerous times to satisfy the needs of all these other people. I spoke with a few people over the phone and they were all very helpful. But I know I spoke with Larry at least three times on that one day alone, and he was so kind and so helpful! I think he knew I was stressing a but, but he just got me through everything I needed as though he were an old friend. I really wanted to just hug him by the end of the day, he was so amazing! Unfortunately, I don’t remember the exact date… I know it was sometime around April 26th-ish.

Grasshopper Bank decreased our anxiety!
We are a start up company and have had a wonderful experience with Grasshopper Bank. From ease of setting up the account to clear communication and easy access to support staff when needed, I can’t say enough about this bank. It took away our digital banking anxiety. We originally chose another digital bank and it was taking weeks to set up our account with horrible customer service so we decided to try Grasshopper and we are so glad we did!
