Honest Review EvryJourney by…
Honest Review EvryJourney by SixThreeZero.
Unlike most people, rarely will I post a less than stellar review. I feel that most people are overly critical and basically have unrealistic expectations. Therefore, I choose to limit my reviews to positive experiences and not focus on the rarely experienced bad encounters. I guess my years in the service industry have developed this behavior. However, my disappointment with the EvryJourney by SixThreeZero has pushed me to express a below expectations review.
Let me point to some of the positives with the bike and SixThreeZero.
1) The ride position is very comfortable. As a cruiser, the forward pedal position creates an enjoyable casual ride. It enables a very upright seating position which is without doubt easy on your back and hips.
2) They are creating a strong community sense with their App and social media presence. This is creating new cyclists which may not have been adopted cycling without it.
3) The appearance of the bike is attractive.
Now the Cons.
1) I know their bikes are manufactured in China just like 95% of other bikes. However, this manufacturing is subpar. The welds are extremely sloppy with spatter, pitting, and blowholes. Clearly, they are hand welded with inexperienced techs. Also, the fit and finish is horrendous. Trying to align items such as the fenders and rear rack were not possible without bending the shape of the items. Out of the box, the rear fender and chain guard are attached to the frame. Both had to be removed in order to reshape them as they were both rubbing on the rear tire and crank sprocket, respectfully. (The shipping box was undamaged and showed no signs causing the issues.)
2) Paint while an attractive color, its application is also subpar. The amount of paint applied is the bare minimum to cover the steel. In some areas, the paint is so thin it appears more as over-spray. Combining the poor welds and minimal paint, rust will be an issue on the steel frame. This will happen whether you get caught in a small rain shower or just live in a humid environment.
Honestly, cheap bikes from Walmart are of similar quality and house brands like Nishiki from Dick's Sporting Good are of better craftsmanship. For a bike which starts at $519, one would expect much more. The riding position and style can be obtained for other manufacturers for less money with similar quality or higher quality for similar cost. In the end, SixThreeZero is selling an image and lifestyle. Unfortunately, from our experience the build value of the bike is about $200 and their experience is the balance. If you need the SixThreeZero experience to motivate you to get out and ride, then by all means pay them. However, you should be aware of what you are truly getting for your hard earned money.
So I reached out to the company because of their customer service commitment "if you're not happy, we're not happy. Let us take care of it -- no problem is too big or too small!" I stated provided them the exact above review. Their response, "If you have any issues/concerns regarding the bike, please let me know. " Seriously, did they not read my negative review?? So, I have now submitted numerous follow up emails asking for a refund/discount/exchange/touch up paint, etc. They no longer respond to my emails.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
