Rudest customer service I’ve ever encountered
So, I ordered a new bike part from BTD and the order sat in limbo for 6 days “packed and waiting for shipment” so I contacted them to inquire about the status (promise is 1-2 day shipping). Ron at BTD confirmed that they had misplaced the order and that they did not have another to ship to me so I agreed to go on backorder. Ron was helpful and polite.
That evening I noticed that I had been billed the full amount (a few hundred dollars) so I requested, via their online inquiry page, for this to be refunded. I never received a response so the next day I checked on their website to find that my backorder was canceled. I contacted Nate via their chat and he was extremely rude and started telling me how expensive it was for them to lose this part. Then he lied to me and told me that USPS lost the order but refused supply the tracking # to me so I could check on my shipment.
All I wanted to confirm is that my refund was processed and that my backorder was reinstated but he refused to do it saying that all I can do is reorder it, at full price. My original order had a significant discount because I had shopped their for over 10myears. He obviously was lying about the order because the part was showing as in-stock in their online inventory and he just didn’t want to sell it for the original discounted price.
I conceded that he would not be helpful so I told him that I would save the rude chat to take this up with customer service. Not only did he block me from receiving the chat info, he told me that he would personally cancel any orders that I try to put into their system.
Clearly a case of an immature person digging themselves into a hole an trying to lie their way out of it.
They lost a customer for life because of an immature and rude customer sales rep.
