The Wrong Place!
My mom was displaced due to a fire and was staying with us. We went to the Roomplace to get help finding a nice, reasonable and comfortable sleeper sofa she could sleep on without hurting her hips and back. The salesperson recommended a reclining leather sofa which I purchased. When the sofa was delivered it had a stain so had to go through a 2week process to get it exchanged. Then when I was finally able to try out the sofa to ensure it would work well for sleeping, I got flipped to the floor because the foot portion of the reclining sofa can't support body weight. If that had been my mom, who the sofa was for in the first place, she would hv gotten injured. I went back to the roomplace store where I purchased the sofa. I explained to the sales manager that I needed to return or exchange the sofa because it was too dangerous for my mom to sleep on; then I explained what happened. The Sales Manager stated that he couldn't exchange or return the sofa since it's been over the 48 hour return and exchange window. I told him it went past that window when I had to exchange the sofa due to the stain on it when it was delivered. He then referred me to customer service who stated the same thing. However they did say that the sales manager or DM could have exchanged the sofa due to the fact the salesperson sold me a sofa that didn't meet my needs if he truly wanted to. I am so upset because now my mom has had to move with another relative after already being displaced, because I don't have any where for her to comfortably sleep. I'm also upset with the Roomplace because I'm a repeated customer that they did nothing to assist. I even left a message for the Operations Manager who is a really nice lady but never received a returned call. All rules can be adjusted to retain your customers and the Roomplace chose not to fix their error. The salesperson sold me on the sofa assuring me it would meet the needs I described. However it did just the opposite and my mom could have gotten hurt. I'm not a spring chicken but thankfully I was able to pick myself up off the floor after the sofa tipped forward when I turned on my side while testing it out for mom. The sofa is being totally waisted at this point because it's not ideal for what we purchased it for.
