I entered the Merriville Store on Monday
I entered the store on Monday, December 18th, 2023. I was approached by a sales associate who asked me the following " Did you just sneak in the store or were you working with another sales associate in which he quoted a name, but I don't remember the name because I was appalled that he asked me if I sneaked into the store. Moving forward, I told him I was interested in the sectional I was sitting on and had some questions. He answered my first question, and then as I was asking a 2nd question, a manager came over and said something to him and then he immediately stopped talking to me and went to the other customers who may have been there before me. The manager didn't acknowledge me and say excuse me or explain why the sales associate had to leave me as I was in the middle of asking a question. The sales associate didn't even say anything to me like they were here first, or he would send someone over to me and the manager that told him to leave me didn't say anything to me to help me. I was very upset by this because I was ready to purchase the sectional and a recliner from your store. I did make a complaint to the manager who was at the front counter, and she apologized for the service and stated she would speak to both employees. I don't know if she spoke to them, which is why I am making a formal complaint in writing. That was poor customer service and I'm sure they have been trained on how to approach customers. After my complaint to the other manager, she offered to help but I was too angry at that point. I ended up purchasing the sectional and recliner at the Homewood, IL store in which I received excellent service from the employees there. I hope that those 2 employees will be spoken to about their customer service communications.
The Homewood representatives Tony and Ty were very helpful and made sure I understood everything about the delivery, credit information, and warranty. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY MUST BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE!!! WAY BETTER THAN MERRIVILLE!!!
