Good futon; disorganized payment/delivery system (I'm still owed a refund...)
The futon arrived just fine and is as advertised. For that, five stars! But wait. Three. Why: the particular futon I ordered was under "Clearance," which seems to suggest a desire to clear stuff out - and, I paid for special delivery, so a specific time could be set up. Then I got a call. Despite being on clearance, the item wouldn't be "back on line" for something like two weeks at least (so it's being called "clearance"...why?), and the delivery really wouldn't work...upshot - the futon would be arriving sometime in September, and I'd have to go with free delivery via FedEx, who I was assured would be happy to arrange a time frame with me. Futonland would promptly refund my delivery fee (and they did send me a revised invoice very quickly). THEN, I get a notification that the "unavailable" futon will actually be arriving pretty quick, via FedEx - where it turned out there was no way, none whatsoever, to even find out roughly what time of day it'd be arriving. While that ended up working out fine, it very well may not have. I could have been stuck at home all day waiting (which was exactly why I wanted special delivery in the first place). Finally, despite over a week passing since I was told I'd get a refund for that special delivery fee, there is still no refund posted in my account. / Update: after writing to Futonland to remind them of this last fact, they did jump on it and refund that delivery fee. I think they really are doing their best - it's just that whether because of understaffing or some other reason, in this one experience with them, their best was a bit haphazard. All that said, the futon continues to be just fine, and exactly as it was advertised.
