I purchased Trawick International's…Safe Travels USA Cost Saver
I purchased Trawick International's Safe Travels USA Cost Saver Plan insured by Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans (CBP) through a broker Insubuy.com. The coverage date is from 8/1/2020 - 2/28/2021. I started to have shortness of breath and back pain problems since 12/10/2020 and visited a doctor on 1/29/2021. He sent me to take blood test and X-rays for medically necessary diagnosis. I have provided all the documents and medical records to CBP.
I received an EOB form online this week, which showed the $383 claim from the medical provider for X-ray image reading cannot be covered, because the service was not a covered benefit under my plan, which was an error. Having contacted the medical provider to verify that they sent the correct claims to CBP, I believed CBP and Trawick have violated the federal and state regulations and their own policy.
I called in their claims department for help, but the female agent (only one) behaved rudely, refused to explain in detail, and hanged up my phone for many times. I tried to call their claims department several times during the entire claiming process for clarification, but all the time I just ended up getting hanged up or could not getting any useful information. They also pointed that there is no way to escalate or talk with the manager. I have also contacted Trawick International for assistance but they only kicked the ball to CBP claims department.
The rest of the claims submitted by medical providers are also still pending and were not paid to medical providers in a timely fashion, in a total amount of $1493.45 according to the information provided by CBP.
In conclusion, this has been a terrible experience for me, and I won't purchase any insurance plan like this anymore. They have the low cost plans available, and the policies seems fascinating, but there are so many problems in regard to claims. Although I didn't expect I can get the good customer service or guarantee in relatively low cost, but they are trying to find whatever they can to refuse your legitimate claims, and the customer service don't do anything for helping customers.
I used to think some of the reviews on Trustpilot or Google are just one-sided or prejudiced, but now I hope my review can be seen by as many people as possible.
