Not a very good experience this time
Not a very good experience this time.
I had purchased a guitar through the Pawn America online website. I planned on picking it up from the store the next day. Unfortunately this is where things started to run off the rails.
The next day I had forgotten which store I had purchased from. I looked at my receipt, and it didn't say so I called the phone number. All I wanted to know is which store I needed to pick the guitar up at. I got a hold of a girl, who at first could not find my order in the computer. She put me on hold for over 20 minutes. I had to hang up, and tried to call back a few hours later. I got a hold of the same girl, at this point she told me I would have to hold for the manager. So again I was on hold for more than 15 minutes. Thinking I was forgotten, I hung up and called back. This time I got a hold of a guy, who gave me the impression of, "Why the heck are you calling me?" and told me that he could not help me with any online purchase. He then transferred me to supposedly someone who could help me. Remember, I just want to know where I can pick up my guitar. I was on hold for another 20 minutes, finally I got to someone's voicemail. I left a message with my contact information. No one called back.
The next day, I went to the closest store to where I live. I waited in line for another 20 minutes or more. Finally I got to an employee. I told him that I had purchased a guitar and I wanted to know where I could pick it up. He was able to find out where I had purchased the guitar. As an after thought I asked if he could call the store to verify it was ready to pick up, since the store was about 45 minutes away. He did, and right away he was told that for some reason the store could not find the guitar. The employee I was with explained to me that they were very sorry and that someone would call me the next day to help me find possibly another option. This never happened. Instead I got a credit back to my PayPal account, which unfortunately took 5 more days to clear.
At no time did a Pawn America employee try to contact me or at any time during this event just tell me, even though it was my impression multiple people knew that they did not have my purchase, I would have been bummed but not upset. However, again this did not happen.
