Our experience with Mutual of Omaha proper was good. However, when it came to closing on the properties we had issues both times. On the first property closing, it was 15 minutes past our appointment time and the notary hadn't arrived so we called. According to the notary that had been assigned she was unaware of the appointment. They were able to find a backup notary and we were able to close later that day as planned. On the second property once again it was past the appointment time and we called. The notary said "she was finishing up the previous meeting and would be there in about 20 minutes." When she arrived it was more than one hour past our appointment time. We had another commitment and therefore we told her we had already contacted the company to reschedule. She attempted to persuade us to just go ahead and do the closing indicating that she could finish it up in less than 30 minutes. We told her that signing of legal documents should not be rushed and we sent her away. The company rebooked us with a different notary for another day. While this highly negative experience was with the contracted notaries it doesn't reflect well on Mutual of Omaha.
