512 Pedal Disappointment
I followed the pedal size recommendation as listed on the website, unfortunately the wide Q factor caused a significant power loss on my rides. I gave it two weeks with them on the bike to adjust and still no improvement. It has been a major regression. I also had an incident where the right pedal would not unclip leading me to dump my bike which caused a scuff to the pedal and made a return impossible. It was not a rider error. I have access to the tooling and asked if they could sell me a different axel spindle to replace the +18mm XL with the medium or small in order to narrow the q factor. Customer service said they could not. But since they're a German company and im in the States im not actually dealing with anyone at SQ, just their North American distributor. This is frustrating because now the pedals are useless and I have wasted $170 + and hindered my progression. Even a discount on a different size pedal in exchange for me sending back my current pedals is impossible to them. I put my faith in SQ and their product and it ended up being a huge mistake. I just want a solution to make the damn pedals work for me. It would take one email from SQ to have their supplier ship a pair of replacement axels to me and all would be fixed. I really bought the ergonomic marketing hype for the wider axle length. I should have just bought a pair of Look or Shimano pedals.
UPDATE: In response to my review, SQLABS clamied to have offered me a discount/ alternative option on new pedals. This never happend and is completely dishonest. Im assuming since once a review is written and a company has responded that ends the back and forth between consumer and company. For consumers reading SQ Labs reviews they would see my negative experience then read SQ Labs response and walk away thinking that I was unjustified with my frustration and that SQ Labs did everything in their power to make things right. The issue I have is that SQ LABS did not do the things mentioned in their response. A complete fabrication of events in order to come out of the situation in a positive light. I exchanged email with Sarah from customer service prior to writing my review. She sent two emails. One was a cut and paste response when I suggested the option of exchanging the pedals' our first interaction.

From the date of my purchase it took around a week or more for the pedals to arrive from the date of purchase. It then took another 14 days for me to install the pedals. I was collecting data on my previous pedals in order to document the improvement the SQLABS pedals would supposedly give me. So I had less than 6 days under the return policy to properly test the pedal and initiatea return if i was unhappy. This was not enough time to gather a proper comparative data set. Return under the company policy was out of the question. 30 days is simply not enough time. A company confident in their product effectiveness would seemingly offer a return policy longer than 30 days. When i proposed the offer of me purchasing a new set of spindles to install on my pedals this was the only respone I received

SQLABS response to my review is dishonest and untrue. They could easily make the situation right. IM NOT ASKING FOR FREE PRODUCT. I JUST WANT OPTIONS!
