This really wasn't a quality education
This really wasn't a quality education. What you get taught essentially, is a 12 week coaching programme that was created by one of the founders for her clients, but I was, quite honestly, embarrassed to offer this to my clients. It is not worth the money that you are supposed to be asking for, it's as simple as that.
The 'Transformational Coaching Method', or 'TCM' that they teach is revolutionary, different to what others are doing but realistically, it is just asking questions that get to the heart of a clients desire for change - in a nutshell.
It is advertised that you get nutritional education as part of the training - you don't. You get a basic overview of what causes hunger, and macro, and micro nutrients, which I suppose is fine if you are starting from scratch, which I wasn't. Other than that, what you get taught is that clients don't want more information on nutrition, they want change. To be fair, I did know this wasn't a nutritional education I was buying in to, but I was expecting more than I got.
There was a lot of conversation around being certified by the CCE. Myself and many others in our group highlighted about half way through the course that the certification was advertised as CCE certified, but it transpires that it isn't. It is considered continuing education credit, but that's all. There was a lot of talk around, 'who told you that when you signed up, so we can ensure this is followed up on', but the truth of it is, there was a live video of Carey and Stacey talking about the accreditation themselves, that they were very excited about being able to offer this to their clients and how hard they worked to get the accreditation. Very disappointing, and support did nothing other than tell us they would look in to it.
Lastly, as you would imagine, once you are on the training, they try to sell you so much more. BHC is just the beginning - you will learn the basics, but if you really want to do a great job with your clients, you'll have to spend another $8000 on 'Mastery', which if you look at the other reviews' is basically the same principle as BHC - a 12 week programme that everyone gets, scripts and all. You also get phone calls, trying to sell you live events.
Perhaps I was a little naive about how these types of education are delivered, and the constant selling that you get when you sign up, but this was quite a surprise when I experienced it.
Overall, I think I would summarise this as a very basic education and for sure lots of people go on to use this coaching package successfully and help people with serious health issues, but for me, I was looking to learn the skill of coaching, how to create a programme tailored to my clients needs, and how to be effective. This isn't what you get with HCI, sadly. If you want a fast track in to business with a 'done for you' programme with script - this may be for you, but beware - when you go to actually work with clients, I think you will realise how limiting this actually is to both you and you client.
