I recently decided to upgrade a middle-aged Compaq laptop to a larger drive, to keep up with the ever-increasing software bloat of modern apps. After finding Drive Solutions on the web, I went to their site to pick a drive. First impression: Web site very well organized and easy to use. I requested a W-D drive, mainly because my grandson works there. When I received it (3 days after ordering!) the software wouldn't let me do a disk copy because the number of bytes per sector wasn't the same on both drives. It took me about a couple of days to verify this, trying four different programs and going to Drive Solution's support and W-D's web site. (W-D has modified some of their drives to a higher byte/sector format, but is REALLY quiet about it.) I finally accepted the diagnosis and emailed Drive Solutions requesting a placement drive with the proper bytes/sector. (Anyone but W-D!) They immediately one out which I received in 2 days, and I installed it without a hitch. (By this time, I was an expert on 3 disk copy programs.) I ran every disk diagnostic I could find and it was solid as a rock. It's still cranking away. I couldn't be more impressed with the level of support and service I got from Drive Solutions. Every step of the ordering and service process was excellent. This is a company that deserves all the success they will no doubt enjoy.
