One of my students one day asked me why he got a B, when he had thought he'd get an A. The requirement for an a was 90%, and it turned out this student had 89.95%. So he got a B, but knowing what kind of a B he had got, turned that B into a success story to tell. It is the same with these 4 stars to Apposta. I would have loved to give them 5 stars, but I found just a few things missing, and perhaps this honest 4-star review will be more interesting than a 5-star review and a single word "Great!". The plus about Apposta (or Neronote as they used to be called) is that they have a great selection of fabrics and shirt details. Their website is also very tidy and easy to navigate. The few things I would have liked differently there, is the ability to save fabrics in a "personal collection", and a size indicator, so as to see the width of stripes and so on. But those are minor details. Among the online tailoring sites I have seen, they are best. About the company themselves, I feel they extend good ... no great customer service, and patiently review new requirements. The one big downside is the measurement process, which is undertaken by the customer himself. It is hard enough for a tailor to get the measurements right, and the untrained eyes of regular people err even a bit more. This also means that the shirts need to be made from fewer measurements than if you went to a street tailor. So the big point here is that it would have been really nice to have had some option to have one's measurements professionally taken and in such a way that it corresponded to how the Apposta tailors saw those measurements. But that complaint said: I have received unsolicited praise for the shirts I got from Apposta. Not the first make, but the make they settled on after a few try-ons and exchanges of pictures of me wearing the shirt. So they are doing an absolutely great job, but some way of getting the measurement process rolling more smoothly would have made a good difference. And if you wonder: I will definitely be buying my next shirt from them.
