Some nice clothing but expensive and poor customer care
I really like a lot of their clothing although the sizing and quality is very variable, which costs money for return postage. The clothing is also extremely expensive - even in the sales. Sometimes you can accept this because the quality is excellent (and I have a number of items) but this is not always the case. I have ordered some items that are quite frankly of poor quality. Such differences are not acceptable or understandable. I would have given 4 stars but for two things. Firstly, they have dreadful customer service. There are some issues with their website whereby it tells you that you have received a discount, e.g. free postage, but then it suddenly charges a different amount at the payment stage. I'm pretty sure this isn't even legal to do this but the customer service department are completely dismissive of this even though it has been reported to them more than once - and I know that I'm not the only customer who has had the problem. The other issue is that they charge full postage amount no matter how much you have ordered - this applies for both sending and returning goods. As a company they need to look to their peers and see that they DO NOT do this. My most recent interaction with them shows they don't even properly read what you are trying to tell them when you have had an issue. I couldn't in all honesty recommend them as a good company to deal with.

I was very unhappy with the quality of an item of clothing I purchased from this company and their customer service. I purchased the Windsor Top and after only wearing it 2-3 times it developed 2 holes in it. I called the company and they asked me to send it back so they could try to fix it. They could not and said it was my fault. They said I snagged it in something. I did not. I went only to the movies and out to dinner. I swear I did not get the material caught in anything. I had the top less than a month. They would not replace the top or give me a refund. Although the material is pretty, it is clearly too delicate or not of very good quality. I am out $80 ( or more with all the mailing). That is a lot of money to only be able to wear it 2-3 times. I would not waste my money on anything this company sells. I was very unhappy with how I was treated.

Not a polite customer service
Not a polite customer service. Their shipping and returns are always costly as it is. You cover them both! On top of that they " forget" to include a lower cost shipping label with the garment. You take the purchase to the postoffice and it costs you allot of $$ to return. ( in my case the cheapest I could find was 17! UPS wanted 38! ) mind you , Peruvian Connection don't forget to include the return slip in the package, (as one of the customer service claimed it must have fallen out of the package), they just peal it off the page where is actually supposed to be! So that was a lie.But if you ask for a reimbursement on the shipping cost, which it would be a normal thing to do, they start lecturing you with high pitched voice, literally on how it's "your responsibility to return the garment to them". I asked: isn't it your responsibility to accept that you've forgotten to include a shipping label for me to return it?" I guess it isn't. I never experienced anything like that with any respectable clothing line. It's just bizarre! I'm afraid to purchase anything from them ever again until they revise their shipping/return policies. Their policy is: "the merchant is always right" and it's not the American way, in my view. You don't go through this kind of treatment if you buy from Tory Burch or Coach. I guess Peruvian Connection isn't that classy after all.

Excellent quality pima cotton clothes
I have purchased items from Peruvian Connection for many years now. Their pima cotton clothing is soft, great quality, and lasts for years of wearing & washing. I've tried other brands, but keep returning to Peruvian Connection for reliable basics and beautiful splurges.

Peruvian Connection are to be avoided…
Peruvian Connection are to be avoided if you expect prompt service and good customer back up. I have been waiting since August for one item so have cancelled it and when I rang to say that I would not be using them again, they were not really bothered! The other item was ordered in August and arrived in October. Why such long delivery times which are not mentioned in their catalogue.

FAULT PRODUCTS
I have bought at least 50 garments form Peruvian Connection - one garment has a faulty zip. I didn't wear them for a year and when I did found the zip to be faulty. Wrote a nice letter, got a rude one in return making out that I had said the garment was unsuitable, which I hadn't said. I thought I could trust this company - but my trust has been lost. Their 100% guarantee is worthless.

I recently received an Alpaca fur hat in Tuscan Rose that I've wanted for over a year. I first saw them at Winter Wonderland in London and just kicked myself for not buying one then. I don't think it was Peruvian Connection who were selling them at Winter Wonderland but anyways, for a year I went on and on about my regret for not buying one. To my surprise by boyfriend bought me the exact same hat from Peruvian Connection and it is as I remembered. Beautiful, soft and full. You do have to let the hat rest once out of the box as it is a bit flat at the beginning. Everyone comments on my hat and they always want to touch it. Love Love Love my hat.

Appalling quality
I bought numerous very expensive pima cotton t shirts from Peruvian Connection and put them new, with labels on into my closet. Today I go to take them out to pack them for my holiday and find that every single t shirt has developed awful colourless patches, they've never even been tried on. I checked my other clothing, no problem anywhere. Other new folded t shirts from different companies in the same pile are unaffected. I've often heard their clothing called very poor quality but I'm gasping at how awful it is. Hundreds of pounds of pima cotton that is not fit for purpose. Disgusted with them.

I am so glad I came to check the reviews for this company before ordering anything. I received a catalogue from them, despite never having heard of them before. The clothes look great, right up my street style and colour wise but the prices are more than I'd usually pay (£350+ for a dress). After seeing what other customers say I will not be buying anything. Thanks all for taking the time to warn us!

I have purchased from Peruvian Connection in the UK on many occasions, and have found their service to be excellent. Their coats, especially, are sumptuous, and of high quality. I have never had any issue in returning items and Peruvian Connection have always refunded the card promptly. Thay come recommended.

I will tell you one thing this company…
I will tell you one thing this company does very well; it has an extremely talented creative team. They should win industry awards. The photos in the catalogue are magic; cheap, thin, shoddy fabric is made to look good. Abra cadabra. You look through the catalogue, take a liking to something and decide to order. At this point, they tell you it will be on a "backorder," 8 to 12 weeks delivery. Well, in the first week of January you think that's not too bad. As spring approaches, it's not funny anymore. You want to match up cardigans/other accessories. If last year's dress is anything to go by, the reality is deeply disappointing. It has stretched out of shape and looks awful. So I have tried a different ( non jersey) this time. Last chance saloon for Peruvian Connection. If it ever arrives; 10 weeks now and counting. I seriously don't know how they get away with it, at such eye-watering prices.

Further to my review in March 2022
Further to my review in March 2022, I have now been informed by this USELESS, terrible company that the dress I ordered in early January might be available in June. They can't be serious. Each time I go back to the order details, we jump another month. Utterly frustrating and deeply bad.

Just purchased a pair of cropped leggings in august…saved them for 1st time wearing to NYC…washed them once and upon 2nd wearing noticed 2 tiny holes above the knee. Called to see what they could do…nothing!! Because I washed them? I have a pair that I have had for 3 years that are still in great shape. I tried to argue it was a quality issue…but they declined to help…that is very poor customer service and now I am left with a 49.00 pair of leggings that are damaged after 1 washing! Wow! Never again will I buy fro them! They could learn something from Ralph Lauren customer service which is superb!

Unrealistic sizing
The catalog is a joy to look at. But that's where it ends, The clothing is modeled on unrealistic women, The latest model, on page 3 of the catalog shot in Matera, Italy, must be 6.3'' tall! Seriously? Have you looked at the average American woman? I'm all for style and aspiration, but let's get real,..or at least offer free returns.

So I'm on the website excited to purchase the poncho I'd been eyeing when I stumble onto a familiar sight....a leather tote I purchased from Free People for 298 listed here for 349. So upset because that poncho looks great but trust issues and inflated prices tell me ominously "BUYER BEWARE....."

Received my voucher code by email - made life easier for all!
I was given some PJs from Peruvian Connection that I didn't want so I returned them (tracked&signed for, next day special delivery) and asked for a voucher on Nov. 18th. I heard nothing so called them on Nov. 28th and was told the voucher was being 'got ready' to put in the post. On Dec. 6th I called again as I'd received nothing and was told the voucher was probably delayed in the postal strikes. It's now Dec. 13th and I've emailed them today to ask where my voucher is as I've yet to receive it. I'll update this review depending on what and when I hear from them. Update 14/12/22: I have had a very speedy, welcome and helpful response to my email and so have upped the the stars considerably. I will continue to update. New update: I was emailed my voucher code (today - 14/12/22) and although it didn't work when I tried to order online, it worked perfectly when I made the order via the phone. I've ordered what I think will be a lovely summer dress, I'll review when it arrives.

About
Founded in 1976, Peruvian Connection is a luxury women's apparel brand, offering exceptional, artisan-crafted, globally-inspired designs to discerning customers in the US, UK and Germany. Peruvian Connection was founded by mother and daughter team, Biddy and Annie Hurlbut. Today, the company continues to be led by our owner and founder, Annie Hurlbut. Our in-house design team doubles as fashion archaeologists, uncovering historic motifs and patterns from around the world. These historic influences are reimagined into designs that marry global textile traditions with modern, wearable silhouettes. Our knitwear collections are made in Peru by the same skilled artisans that we have partners with for decades. Many of the designs we create are produced in female-owned cottage industries where wages are higher than the local average and where transportation, food and childcare are often provided. While our company has grown over the last 45+ years, our original goal remains the same: to offer beautiful, original, artisan-crafted designs in luxurious Andean fibers.
