The information was very useful
The information was very useful. However, the description under each was a bit confusing for someone that is not in the science world. It would’ve been helpful to know in each category what exactly to do to improve those areas.

They kept me informed
Once they received the sample they kept me informed as to when I would get results. It did take a few weeks for the sample to reach them from New Zealand

I have been using OmegaQuant to check…
I have been using OmegaQuant to check my blood fat levels for several years. If I ever make a change to my diet, I want to know how my levels are affected. The worst part is still stabbing my finger to get that big drop of blood.

If your not first your last
Picked up test at my chiropractor appointment, shanked my finger and let it dry, mailed it in. Registration was easy, results came back better than anticipated. Take care of yourself, spare no expense.

The test kit was very easy to use
The test kit was very easy to use, and communication between OmegaQuant was excellent. I was kept informed of the process and updated. The report itself was very thorough and I will be sharing the results with my primary care physician.

Very Easy Test Requires Only One Drop Of Blood
Very easy to understand and follow directions. Really simple single drop of blood needed for the test. I am blown away with how much information I was able to receive from that single drop of blood. Fast turnaround from the time I mailed off the sample until I received my results was just over one week. Really happy and will repeat the test in 6 months.

Affordable self administered tests
I have used OmegaQuant many times. They provide affordable, timely and accurate results. I like the fact that I can administer the tests to myself and not have to involve a clinician.

About
OmegaQuant is an independent, CLIA-certified lab that offers nutritional & health status testing to researchers, clinicians and the public. We test:
- Omega-3 Index
- Vitamin D
- Prenatal DHA
- Mother's Milk DHA
Our goal is to offer the highest quality analytical services to researchers and to provide simple tests of nutritional status to consumers, with the ultimate purpose of advancing the science and use of nutrients to improve health.
Our Story
Dr. Bill Harris, a leading expert in omega-3 fatty acids, founded OmegaQuant in 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and did post-doctoral fellowships in Clinical Nutrition and Lipid Metabolism with Dr. Bill Connor at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
His interest in omega-3 fatty acids began with his postdoctoral work when he published his first study on the effects of salmon oil on serum lipids in humans (1980). Since that time he has been the recipient of five NIH grants for studies on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) on human health.
He has more than 350 publications relating to fatty acids, including omega-3s, in medical literature and was an author on two American Heart Association scientific statements on fatty acids: “Fish Consumption, Fish Oil, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease” (2002), and “Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease” (2009) both published in the journal Circulation.
Dr. Harris co-invented the Omega-3 Index in 2004 and made it commercially available to the research community and the public in 2009. To date, the Omega-3 Index has been used as the standard measure of omega-3 status in more than 200 clinical studies.
Dr. Harris is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota.
Dr. Harris moved on as OmegaQuant’s President in late 2020 to establish the Fatty Acid Research Institute (FARI), where he will go back to his roots of conducting research on fatty acids and health.
