No website for ordering replacement parts
I have had my DogWatch Hidden Fence for almost two years. I have been very satisfied with its performance. My German Shepherd learned her boundaries very quickly and will not cross the lines as long as the transmitter and collar receiver are working properly. I am terribly disappointed that I am unable to purchase simple replacement parts through an online DogWatch store website. I have to contact (call or email) a franchisee just to purchase replacement prongs for the receiver. Very inconvenient and totally ridiculous.

Hi Nancy, we are sorry to hear that you were frustrated by your recent experience with DogWatch. We strive to offer the best, most convenient customer service, but we are afraid that we missed the mark here. We are in the process of updating the online store in your service area, and our websites should have directed you to an alternative online purchasing channel. We have fixed the error on our end, and we will be sure to provide you with an online store option for any future DogWatch purchases. Ron and his son installed Dog Watch for me. They were friendly, professional and took time to show me how to train Lexi. It only took her 2 days to learn her boundaries and now she very rarely has to wear her training collar. I am so glad I chose Dog Watch and I now know my dog is safe. Would recommend to anyone who needs a fence.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Theresa! We enjoyed working with you and Lexi. Based on your written feedback, it seems like you selected a one-star review in error, correct? Less than impressed
1 reviews US
First impressions.
Maybe this is a good company but first impressions are everything. My neighbor had a fence installed by a less than capable employee who trenched the cable onto my property and ran his equipment within 3ft of the utilities on the easement, cutting the drops to my house. This "employee" came to my door and told me he hit the fiber optic drop and that I need to contact at&t to repair his mistake. He then told me that my drop was too shallow and left. when I had gone outside to inspect the damage, I realized that he cut the wire on my property, he then zip tied the back of the property dog fence wire to the adjoining property. He did not call 811 before digging/trenching. He did not hand dig to expose utilities/facilities, he did nothing to protect utilities in the work area. He did however use red spray paint in the area to mark whatever he may have located. As a contractor ( at least a good contractor) would know that only certified locators can use the correct colors and that a vendor is only allowed to use white or pink. Everything about this "employee" with his atitude and technique tells me that this company needs to screen more thoroughly and hire better trained employees. This guy doesn't cut it. Filled a damaged cable report with 811, notified local utilities of this company's work practice, checking with local township to have inspectors verify if this type of work is acceptable. I will strongly urge 811 to investigate this company to see how often they dig without calling in a locate request. Edit 09/24/2023 @DogWatch, I understand that you want only customer reviews posted however, I did not seek your company to write about. Your company sought me by interacting with me in a less than professional manner. You talked to your employee and you know exactly who I am and where to find me. Please, by all means come out and contact me. I will be happy to show you the reason for all of this and can tell you why it isn't correct. Your senior most employee came to my door asking me about my service, (Which cable we have for service.), which I would advise anyone to not give out because it can be a safety issue. I told him both for that reason. We were out of service for two days due to his actions. Your employee had to redo his work because of his own mistake, the at&t service tech could also clearly see the issue and took photos. If this is how your employee does his installs, how many other outages does he cause, and who would know about it unless someone reports it? He was very certain that at&t wouldn't bill me, as if he speaks from experience. It cost me two days of being without service, how much does it cost the utilities to come out and repair drops that didn't need to be damaged? I don't want to write up any business unless it is to either praise outstanding products and service or to warn people of bad experiences. I called 811 to get information about what digging/trenching procedures are for this area and after a 45-minute discussion they said I need to report this. At&t also wanted a report. I would be all too happy to remove this and any other reviews. What is your company's resolve to prevent further outages?

Dear Less than Impressed, Review platforms are for customers, such as those of DogWatch of Nashville, to leave real reviews with real names to help potential customers make a decision on a fence to safely contain their dogs. As you may have seen, we’re a reputable company who has been in business since 1994 in the entire middle Tennessee area. We take great pride that we have seasoned and knowledgeable employees who take pride in their work and the customer’s experience. This particular installer that you’re referring to is one of our longest and best employees. I’m sure he had no intentions of inadvertently cutting one of the two internet wires that lead to your home. I was happy to hear from him before you left your review, though, that this did not affect your active internet service. I’m happy you two were able to establish this. Please contact me directly if you wish and we can discuss further. Thank you. Amberly Betz

This collar killed my dog today. Don’t buy this product!
Let me begin by saying that I have just finished reading the guidelines for leaving the review and I will do my very best to stay within these rules. This is my second review of this product. My first review generated a phone call from the company that installed it last year. The above mentioned call was the first follow up call from the company after almost 4 months of silence. To summarize the problem with the invisible fence and our dogs as described in my previous review, it simply didn’t work. Our dogs completely disregarded the fence and moved freely in and out of the “fenced” area. The call resulted in an appointment to “remedy” this problem. On April 14, 2023, we were honored by a visit by none other than the owner of the franchise. Mr. Shane Brzezinski of Dog Watch Hidden Fences, Inc., located at 1927 Milwaukee Ave., Wausau, WI, 54403. Mr. Brzezinski’s arrogance in his way of speaking to us was only eclipsed by his almost total lack of understanding of dog behavior. He came equipped with higher voltage batteries for dog collars and collars with longer electrodes. When we purchased the system on 12/02/2022 for $2,855, we all agreed that the installation was to be above ground. In the spring, the installer was to come back and we were to bury the wire and expand the reach beyond the pond to give the dogs access to the water. None of which had happened. None of which was a part of discussion during the follow up visit April 14, 2023. Today, my wife and I went shopping for fruit trees to be planted in the orchard in the next 2 weeks. We came home after a 2.5 hour trip. We began placing our potted trees in the fenced area next to the pond. After we were done, she cut through by the pond to walk home and I heard a shout and subsequent screaming. I quickly ran down to see what was going on and saw our alpha male dog electrocuted and drowned in our pond. This is something that I throughly discussed with Shane’s wife-Patty, and asked multiple times, if there is even a slight chance of it happening. She assured me that it is impossible. As I am writing this review, my beloved dog is still in the back of my four wheeler awaiting proper burial. I would encourage all of you to not buy into this nonsense sold by people who pride themselves like Shane Brzezinski on selling 250 units per year to unsuspecting pet owners without regard for their pets safety. On the one hand, the review guidelines encourage reviewers to have proof of their claims, and on the other, they are limiting what one can place here in form of proof. Let it suffice for now that I took photos of my dog floating in the water with the DogWatch collar on, and dead as I pulled him out. A perfectly good, pure breed $1,500 dog died today. Didn’t make it to 2 years old. Whatever you do, don’t buy this product for your dog.

Needless to say, this is heartbreaking. We are very sorry for your loss and, as dog owners, we understand your pain. And your anger. For starters, it sounds like you did not receive very responsive service from your local Dealer. We apologize and we will address this with him. What happened with your dog is truly tragic. Again, we are very sorry for your loss. Please know, for whatever little comfort it might give you, that a hidden fence system would not electrocute your dog, not even in the water. Please reach out to our corporate office for additional information. Email: [email protected]. Phone (800) 793-3436 x614.

Sidewalker Collar Seriously Harms Your Dog
I have the Dogwatch containment system and bark collars that work great for my two dogs. What I seriously hate is the Sidewalker collar. It works about 1% of the time and randomly so my dog is shocked out of the blue and is then afraid to even step outside the house. The battery lasts maybe 12 hours. I would return it for a refund if I hadn't cut the collar to fit or still had the box.
Date of experience: December 17, 2020
Hi Lynda - Thanks for the positive comments about the DogWatch hidden fence and bark collar. We are sorry to hear that the SideWalker is not working for you the way it should. It is especially concerning to hear that you feel it is harming your dog. That should not be happening. Before you give up on it completely, give our Customer Service team a call. We'd like to know more about the issues you are having. If there is something wrong with the unit causing it to activate incorrectly, we can send you a new one. Or you can return it even if the collar has been cut. We don’t want you to be unhappy with one of our products - - we want them to be helpful, not hurtful! We've seen the SideWalker work beautifully on many dogs, including our own, so perhaps we can figure out how to make it work for you. Give us a call: (800) 793-3436 x614. Ask for Madge. Thanks!

I wouldn’t even give one star
I wouldn’t even give one star. Had the worst customer service experiences ever, constant calling me to reschedule, finally had the guy out and he complained about being here, said he was tired and needed a vacation and left saying he wasn’t sure when he would be back. Then had 2 more cancellations until I fired them. We wasted valuable time as the weather is changing and it needed to be done already. Would never recommend.

We welcome customer feedback, including constructive criticism. Customer reviews can be a valuable tool for helping us improve. We have no objection to fair and honest reviews, even if they are negative. When a public review does not accurately reflect what happened or does not consider circumstances that are not in our control, we appreciate being given an opportunity to respond. Rather than a public response, we messaged you directly. We apologize for the unavoidable delays and hope you will consider our response. Thanks. Michael and Lynette Leonard

Fleeced
Every time I have used this company, I get sticker shock. Two of the younger employees came to my house to sell me an indoor boundary (they also tracked mud pellets all over white carpet). They said they could install it while they were there for free as the service call would be included in the price of the equipment, but I didn't know this policy beforehand (or I would have waited) and was not yet ready for installation. So they said a special trip would be $100 for install. Fair enough. Four weeks later, I am now ready for installation, and I also need to purchase some additional collars (which, to my surprise, far exceeded the cost of the actual system) and one of the owners came to do it. There was NO mention of a cost estimate up front. I assumed that the previous employee was correct: if I was buying additional equipment from them, the service call and installation of the system (which took a whopping 10 minutes - she didn't even attach the device to the wall, but left it laying on the carpet) would be included. Fast forward to my total shock at getting a $477(!!) invoice for her 10 minutes of effort and ONE collar. Amberly at least honored the $100 stated by the previous employee, but still charged me for her trip, despite unloading me $327 for a freaking collar. So yeah... that's $427 I had not planned on spending. Add $198 for the original equipment and a SINGLE indoor boundary with a SINGLE collar cost me $625 (can't afford collars for all three dogs!). Had I known this...had they been more up front about their pricing.... I would have passed and gone a different route. But after they've left your house and sent you the invoice the next day, there is no recourse. I feel fleeced and I'm done with Dog Watch.

Poor Workmanship on an Expensive Fence
On an $8500 fence installation, they used cheap hinges, leaving the back gate hanging at an angle. They were very responsive until they got paid, then never a word. I called and emailed several times, but Perry himself never had the courtesy to call. Finally they just blew me off. Hopefully I can find a fencing company with a little integrity to hang the gate properly because it drives me nuts every time I look at it. Lowe's probably would not have done a worse job.

Good product, horrendous after care
Do not get if you live ‘far away’ from these guys, they will use any excuse if they bodge the job up. Great product but terrible aftercare. And it’s not just a ‘bad day’. They were perfectly happy to come and install, insisting that I was closer than many of their clients, but then made nothing but excuses when asked to make a few important corrections after laying the lines in really irrational boundaries, I stupidly signed the paperwork to be ‘nice’ because the installer was rushing for a ferry. No walk around, no proper pet training, he just assured me that all was in the right place and I felt confident enough to trust him. After a little time, when I got used to the fence, I realised how badly it was positioned and complained verbally. People who do this every day should know the positioning better than someone who has only lived at the property for a short time. As time passed, it progressively got noticeably worse, my dogs can’t even use our two long wooded driveways and, although I’ve made it abundantly clear since installation, they have gone as far as to practically accuse me of lying, saying that because it’s not in writing it can’t be true and have done nothing but wriggle out of correcting it, insisting that I must have been happy because I didn’t complain in writing and because I signed the paperwork. I have been complaining for two years! During that whole time, they are always insisting that there is at least a three month wait, I have no priority over awaiting new customers even though they did a bodge job and that I can pay for the correction, including travel. I don’t know about you, but if I do a bad job, I would expect the correction to be done at my own expense. I have a cable going halfway through my courtyard instead of at the opening at the boundary! My dog constantly got zapped for over a year because of this ridiculous positioning! Two years have passed and any wire breaks and huge amounts of relaying (I bought a large new batch of cables) I’ve had to do myself or else there would be a three month wait. I have recommended this company so many times to other people as everyone asks me and now I feel like a fool since I can finally see the full picture after enduring a phone call where a man has done nothing but constantly shout loudly over me to where it got so upsetting that I had to put the phone down. And I’m pretty strong when it comes to abuse. They clearly know that I run an estate by myself and have taken advantage of me running out of steam/getting too busy every communication (which I do) and, after two years, I finally give up. Bravo, Dogfence! Customer service is atrocious even though the ladies who arrange things have been delightful. Before seeing what was going on, I have supported this company fully and yet haven’t had an ounce of support in return, being called a liar and getting actually shouted at for ten minutes! But they were very supportive and nice when taking my several thousands of pounds... I am utterly deflated and let down, it has been a truly long, over-extended painful process. And then they kept on sending me emails to review their company....well, here you go guys, I finally got some time on my hands today...

We are happy to take criticism where it due and whilst we are really sorry that you do not accept that the work you want to be carried out will not be free of charge, we are at the end of the day a business and we have to charge for alterations that are not down to an installation error. Your fence was installed in 2017 but we had no contact with you again until May 2019. You called because you had an issue with your dog jumping on the formal gardens and we discussed options for coming over to exclude this or for you doing the alterations yourself. We sent an email drawing with a recommendation for you to alter this and talked at length with you by phone. You ordered the wire as a self-install option as it was much cheaper for you and was relatively easy to do. At no time did you mention the driveway. You also recommended us to a friend who booked us for installation and again at no time did you mention altering the driveway. We are still unclear why or how you want the driveway altered as according to our records it was installed as per the original estimate and the route as agreed on the day.

Make sure you read the fine print (which isn't provided). I was under the impression that a lifetime warranty meant lifetime and if "anything" happens to the collars it will be replaced free of charge. Sounded good so we paid to have the system installed. Unfortunately, my dog has worn out the collar from scratching and caused the black transmitter to fall out (who knows where it is). It is very obvious by looking at the collar strap which we still have to figure out what happened. However, this is NOT covered by the so called warranty. I was offered a $20 discount to replace a $300 collar, not going to happen! Disappointed customer...

Hi Jamie – We are sorry to hear about your lost receiver! We do include a lifetime Warranty on the receiver and transmitter and will replace them if they are not working (i.e., “found to be defective by reason of improper workmanship and/or materials …”). We even replace them if they fail due to a lightning surge or because of the dog chewing on the receiver. The Warranty does not cover ‘human inflicted’ damage (such as being run over by the lawn mower) or lost receivers. The Warranty is printed on the Back of the Customer Order Form and can easily be found on our website (https://www.dogwatch.com/customer-resources/outdoor/outdoor-warranty/). For products not covered under our Warranty, we have an Upgrade Program which we will use to replace the lost receiver at a significantly discounted price. We spoke with your local Dealer and he will be contacting you with the details.

My system is in alarm and has an intermittant problem. They could not isolate the problem on one visit. The system is still screeching and it’s been close to six weeks and they still have not been back to resolve the issue. To be fair, I have not called them back, but they they knew it wasn’t repaired when they left. I am going to call them back and is what can be done to resolve this issue. I would be devastated if my dog was to get out of the contament area.

Poor service- poor communication.
As per our conversation- you are 60 days late with the battery and my dog went right through the fence, thankfully unharmed. And you were sold with no communication to your customers. We are done. Remove me from the battery program now. UPDATE: I received the complimentary batteries, thank you . Thank was good customer service!

You are completely correct. We totally missed this battery delivery. I will take you off the Battery Plan as requested. We are truly and humbly sorry for this error and we are very relieved that no harm came to your pup when he got out. As the new owner of the business, there are a few things I am still learning . . . like the Battery Plan. I sent you two batteries (at no charge), so going forward you should always have a backup. If you notify me each time you change the battery, I will send you a replacement. You can email me at: [email protected] or call me at (518) 783-5678, or you can use the Contact Form on our website: http://www.topdogpetfence.com/contact-us/ . Again, I sincerely apologize for this oversight. I hope to earn your trust going forward. Thank you. Ed Robbins, DogWatch by TopDog Pet Fence

Thank you for your review. We apologize that we did not satisfy your expectations. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with our business. Your happiness is our number one priority. Your DogWatch receiver and transmitter falls under our Lifetime Warranty. Dogs tend to be really hard on their collar straps and because of this we don’t extend the Lifetime Warranty to the collar straps and these do need to be paid for when a new collar strap is needed. Whenever you wish to change the location of the wire after the initial installation this too must be paid for. I’m sorry to hear that the discount given on moving a portion of your wire did not meet your satisfaction. Please reach out to me and I’m happy to find out why your pups have begun to get out of your fence and perhaps additional training is needed or another solution.

This product is completey ill suited…
This product is completey ill suited for my property and situation. I feel I was pressured into accepting it without having a complete understanding of the training involved and how my dogs were expected to live within such small confines. I have never used the product since it was installed, it is not practical for the way my yard is set up. The requirement for the dogs to be on leash EVERY time they are in the yard for 2 weeks is completely unreasonable for our lifestyle, if I had I understood that from the beginning I would never have purchased this product.
Date of experience: April 12, 2018
Hi Lindy, I'm sorry that your experience has not met your expectations and that i was not clear in our discussions regarding the needs of training over the first 5-10 days. I so appreciate you for contacting me approximately 3 weeks after your installation that was on September 7th of last year, as we discussed at that time I was happy to modify the boundary to create more space on the side yards at no cost or refund all the money for your equipment investment. If we modified the loop training was still required. I am still happy to fulfill either of these options - please give me a call and we can resolve this in what ever way best supports your satisfaction!
